ROCK LEE is not a character , he is a LESSON.
Wow. Ya know that was pretty impressive of you man. However some lesson show you just how things are, and other than Lee's story there's not aways rainbows past the fog. You said as long as there's a chance you keep fighting, but maby it's more than just a chance.
A "chance" is the possibility of something happening, but regardless of that fact they still work as if it was really possible.
Maby it's up to their individuality and that persons understanding of one's self in which they are then able to know what can truly be achieved or not.

Everyone keeps saying you need a mentor like Guy, but did you ever stop to wonder about who Guy had to help him? Sometimes in life, the only way is believing yourself even when no one else does. If a mentor helps their students through their difficult times, it's because no one helped them through theirs. It's definitely a blessing to have a mentor like Guy, but real strength is in being like him. Remember, you don't need anyone's approval but your own in life. Believe in yourself, not because no one else will but because it is the only way.
And then who knows, sometime in the future someone sees a part of them in you and decides to be your "mentor".

Big brain time....
@Karoto that's what he meant why point out the obvious
@Karoto it's ok common mistakes
Lee, the one who should have been the protagonist of Naruto because he exemplifies hard work beats talent message of the show.
Agree
I wish he had a more important role
Naruto had no talent at all.. He just keep practices and training.... His motivation was to fight sasuke.
Well, hard work beating talent is only one of the many themes of the show. It was one of the first shown to us, but there are also many others.
Examples: Never giving up on your dreams, never abandoning your friends("those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum"), keeping promises("I never go back on my word"), trying to make amends with those you have disagreements with/forgiveness(i.e. like all of Shippuden), making sacrifices for the next generation (will of fire), and many more.
People criticize Shippuden for abandoning the hard work themes, but I think we saw enough hard work put in from the characters in the original series and I think the shift from the themes of hard work to the more friendship based themes was a good choice. The themes of friendship were already prevelant in the original series as well.
Some of the themes in the show might be taken to an extreme, unattainable naive level like forgiving people who've murdered hundreds of people, but I don't think the show has to be realistic in that sense. I think the fact that Naruto can convince all these completely warped murderers back into good people is very inspiring even if unrealistic. When I watch Naruto and see him convince these characters we used to despise into decent people, it makes me feel good inside.

He didn't roasted him bruh you trippin
Lol use your brain guys, he said "I was a loser too once" implying Lee is still a loser (at the time of saying it)
Lol it is how you describe your dilapidated perspective
The story of Rock Lee is a sad one...because at the end of the day the answer was no.
He became a very decent Ninja, but he never beat those who were considered truely talented, not Sasuke, nor Gaara, Nor Naruto.
He is so human and so relatable and he teaches us an important lesson, sometimes all the practice in the world is simply not enough to beat those who were "chosen".
However Lee's achievements are immeasurable because right behind them, the closest to those stars that were so so unnaturally high was Rock Lee and Rock Lee alone. He might never have beaten them but he was sure as hell the closest to them.
Rock Lee, a true inspiration, a true man, and while only an animation and drawing he's also one of the most compelling humans there are.
In the anime world, beating or not beating is mainly in terms of physical strength. To me, he beats most of them with his character and willpower. If those Uchiha stars didn't have the power, who knows where they would end up with all of that emotional baggage :P Rock Lee has the power which could help us the most in real life, so yes, a true inspiration like you said!
Honestly, it's more an issue of the story becoming too ambitious than of Lee not being good enough. We can see with Guy being considered the strongest by Madara that Lee could have matched and even surpassed the others given time, but the story veered way too far into special powers and inner demons and literal interdimendional aliens to tell a compelling story about the everyman becoming a legend. To me, just like with Boruto, the problem is the direction the writing took. I feel like Lee should have surpassed them all, or at least matched up with them, as he was clearly meant to from the start.
"Victory is not becoming the strongest, but is being able to protect what is most important to you."
And Sasuke just copied his taijutsu 😥
You're wrong
Woth hard work and persistence, what seems normal can become a special telent. You see, it engraves in the brain which allows you to tap into different domains through that particular skill/developed talent
Perfect example of “only you can stop you” you gotta fight yourself everyday

The saddest part about this story is when he is training, he is going into the thousands of his exercises and when he fails to meet his goal he still feels like he is a failure. He doesn't realize how much he has accomplished. The idea of thinking that all your effort means nothing if you can't reach the arbitrary goal you or someone else set for you is one that is branded into the minds of innocents and it takes alot to break out it. And it wasn't until I met Rock Lee that I saw it happen and could accept it into my life. You are not a failure. You are not a genius. You are someone who works hard. And that is the most powerful, dangerous and scary thing in the world to those who would stand in your way
i wrote a comment 3 years ago and still coming here when i have some doubts. Love to read such comments.
Using this as motivation to join the marines. I’ve always quit when things get hard and ontop of that I have such a severe learning disability. I have to work my ass off to learn and comprehend pretty much anything while everyone else just absorbs it like a sponge. Must be nice being born with talent, not everyone is so fortunate. This reminds me to keep moving forward, because everyone else may be much smarter than me, stronger, faster. But the one good thing about my learning disability, is I’ve developed the one thing they don’t have. Perseverance. Most others are so arrogant and cocky with their talent and skill, they grasp everything so easily that they’ll never understand what real determination and perseverance is like. Because they’ve never been in that situation, and if they have it’s not to the extent people like me and rock lee have. Now I’ve got to start at square one and apply that to physical training which is why I watch this.
I’m trying to learn all the ranks and general orders before going in, while in I’ll only have less than 3 months to learn it all. It’ll mean so much to me if I can make it through their boot camp. And then I can tell myself I’m not as dumb or weak as I thought I was, I just made it through one of the hardest training programs in the world.
Wow, you are a legend.
I wish you all the best my friend. Hope you get through.
Semper Fidelis brother! If it wasn’t for this show’s lessons I wouldn’t have been inspired to become a Marine as well. Wishing you the best in your endeavors.
I'm the same way too brother. I told everyone back at home that I wanted to join the Army but they doubted me so much and even my own family. But I had to work hard and keep grinding until I passed their standards and went through basic. Everything in my path is an obstacle for me..... But I'm glad that those obstacles are there for me and anyone else, because without those obstacles, I wouldn't have learn what it meant to get to where I am now. A soldier and a Combat Engineer(12B).
Can't say Lee motivated me to become and NFO, but Lees lesson got me through all the hard parts. If the time to train checks out you should just about be on the other side of bootcamp, hope you're wearing your stripe proudly with the hunger to get more devil dog!
Notice how he is so hard on himself. “Sometimes it seems like the whole thing is pointless. Like I’m a loser and all I will ever be is a loser” that’s why he has the ability to train harder than everyone. He has to do it there is no choice. Be a loser or endure pain and suffering to be the best. Lee picks pain and suffering everyday.
Pain is a Mentor that we all know well
It's either you push past it and give it your all or you let it consume you
Making of a true ninja
If David Goggins was a ninja
From elementary through high school I was always told that since I have a learning disability, I can’t do most things that kids and regular and honor classes can do. I’ve always been taken lightly in sports And any competitions. Finally I thought, enough was enough. I grew tired of people putting me down because of what the school labeled me as. Starting freshman year of high school I study I worked hard after school I did as much homework as I could I fought the school system to put me in honors classes for 5 years and still didn’t give me what I deserved! By graduation they were passing out rewards. I have one first and second Greatest of all boys sports in my school! I ended with a 3.9 GPA and The highest record of a GPA of kid with a Disability is 3.5, so I feel like I already exceeded my expectations. When I walked up on the stage with all those rewards. Everybody looked at me with shock, it was at that moment when everybody wanted to finally be my friend and apologize for the things I have done and said to me, but I ignored them and kept moving forward. Now I’m in college about to be a businessman and a fire fighter.
My biggest goal is to show the world that even with a disability you deserve a spot on The throne!

Let's have a silence moment for guy sensei too. He was a father figure that kept pushing Lee and carving the growing twists on his ninja road
The og was might guy’s dad, might Dai opened eight gate to save might Dai and his teamates against the 7 swordsmen of the mist
I think Might Dai was actually the first person to open any of the 8 inner gates

Hard work beats* talent
Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard.

Whenever I lose all the hopes and have a mental breakdown, Rocklee acts like a therapy for me. Putting all the efforts you can, going beyond your limits and not getting any results? Have perseverance like Lee you will definitely make it one day💫
The harsh reality is most us had this cry with no one to lift us up like Guy did here. As a result of this, some of us have grown cold and heartless.
What's bad in this ?
@@darkslayer9936 its very bad. I can consider myself as cold and heartless.
@@darkslayer9936 because when you grow this way, your outlook on life is a lot less pleasant than if you would’ve been encouraged. It can be harder to have empathy for the people around you and that can make it harder to relate to people, which in turn can create a divide between you and others. This can create isolatation, isolation breeds insanity, insanity breeds chaos, and chaos breeds destruction.

Not seen this in years. Unashamed that i cried at 28 yrs old at this xD lees story is probably the most relatable in all of naruto.
