I personally think the "eternally surprised-hot dog-dragon-fish creatures" in this film are some of the goofiest looking monsters in b-movie history. That's no small feat.
Very first MST3K I ever saw, had no idea what I was watching and certainly no idea how very many hours of MST3K I would end up watching over the next three decades! I even spent hours upon hours posting on the SciFi Channel's website's Caption This! forum (which had the shadow of Mike and the Bots over top of whatever happened to be playing on SciFi at the time, and you could post your own jokes and essentially use it as a chat forum. G-D some of the best hours of my life were spent in there chatting). Good times. Good, good times.
@@matthewanipen2418 the guys getting so irritated at the dropped sodium discovery is one of my favorite parts of the entire episode. "It was YOUR plot point!" 😂😂😂
The first one I saw was The Thing That Couldn't Die" and, like you, I had no idea what it was, just that it was hilarious. I wouldn't miss it after that. It was the first time in decades that I looked forward all week to seeing something on TV, like the early years of Saturday Night Live. Ended up with a few dozen episodes on tape and I would run them all day while working in my shop.
The first ever episode of Mystery Science Theater I saw! Whatta perfect one to start out with as it has that right amount of cheese to put you in the riffing mood!
Mine too! It was FOREVER before I could figure out which one it was, as I had no idea what I was watching and could only remember these weird sea creatures and the slumber party scene LOL. When I saw it again (a few years ago) I was so happy to have found it again.
A few years ago lobby cards for this film went up on ebay and I couldn't afford it at the time, it's one of my few regrets. I love this weird beach party/horror film fusion, especially the silliness of Zombie Stomp. Underrated episode imo. This also contains one of my favorite random MST3K lines when the camera passes a kid on the beach and Mike riffs "I can't get this beer open," I still say it any time I struggle with a package.
I remember seeing this as a little kid. Man, this version is really edited. The ucut version showed a lot of flowing blood. especially that first girl.
Season 8 started with some pretty good movies but then it eventually got to this. Another episode I will always love. Right up there with The Creeping Terror. So very much to laugh at.
1:11:00 I'm glad the limitation of Geiger Counters will not be an issue. As Alan Hale Jr. Said, 'We don't have any Geiger's around here.' But there have been some Shelly Hack sightings so watch your six!

Chef's kiss
One of my favorite episodes!! And shout-out to Eulabelle, the true hero of the movie, when you get right down to it.
Eulabelle is one of my all-time favourite characters in an MST3K movie!
And the best actor in this thing.

"It made sense to surrender, ze Germans were very mean." That one makes me laugh every time.
One of the weirdest things is that Hank and Elaine are played by brother and sister. John Scott's real name is John Lyon.

5:01 Mike’s wife calls him average-looking. 😆
"Part of me is gone forever...."
Far too many times have I been there....
“Hang on, let me toss a gay man at you”. Deserves to be in the MST3 hall of fame.🤪🤪
This is not keeping in the spirit of Pride Week!
Yes! 🤣🤣🤣
I think the music as actually quite good!!!
In case y’ins don’t know… there is an MST3K app with TONS of free episodes. No ads. Merry Christmas.
The Gizmoplex! Still like checking that place out every so often!
@ I love the Apple TV app.
First heard of this movie from a song by the punk band Sloppy Seconds. Surprised and delighted to watch this for the first time!
Really fun band!
🎶And all the flesh slipped off my skulllllllllllll! 🎶
“Look Polish everyone!”
I’m thinking of my friend with this one, who introduced me to MST3K. He had “The Zombie Stomp” as his cellphone ringtone for a while.
''Argh, it is the belly of the great white woman.''
“Look Polish everyone”
"...He was so Polish!"

One of my all time favorite MST3K episodes!
1:28:14 The way Mike says "YEAH! IT'S SODIUM!" gets me every time. 😆
Funniest episode ever. Followed closely by 'Horrors of Spider Island' and 'The Touch of Satan'
Manly Beach Dancing will return.
Golden Spider Duck 🤣
Well there were debatably some horrors but there wasn't much of a party. Film's title is technically correct but only for that first act, lol
Also not a lot of beach after the opening scenes.

The most baffling thing about this movie is that the lead couple is played by siblings... for some reason.

Go Eulabelle!
She was the best actor in this stinker.
An amazing and hilarious episode!
Golden Spider Duck. Live with it...
7:41 🎉 an AC Cobra car? Yo, daddy...
😮😂😂
Our hero has chosen a voice somewhere between Sgt Friday and a generic gunslinger. Brave choice.
so is this supposed to take place during the summer or in the winter?
Yes.
Love love this film. ❤❤
Hilarious classic 😂
