That third issue, disturbing as it was, really sold me on the concept of Madcap. I didn't expect "Spawn-level shit" from a Marvel book written in 1986, but I'm glad it delivered. I'll have to check it out.
Sensational she hulk #9, avengers spotlight #29, and the impossible man summer vacation spectacular #1 are the next 3 madcap appearances. I hope he shows up in the mcu and becomes a good guy.
Fun episode guys. I wonder if Keith Giffen was a Madcap fan, considering The Heckler. As for GBU themes, I think some of the different periods from She-Hulk history would be neat. I would love to see the table's reaction to an issue from Slott's run.
I remember reading an issue of power pack where the letter's page declared the Madcap issue non-canon because Howard Mackie disliked how he wrote Franklin and Katie in the story.
ComicPOP you guys always make my day better. An I’ve always loved this show please if possible make regular again. NJ represents fully. An keep the content flowing.
You know the biggest mistake in Jack Monroe's life? When his mom and dad thought one night "Eh. Let's risk it." Nobody screws Jack Monroe except life. *sound of corpse being shoved into a trunk*
Ethan just Dying listening to this while Ben is on the side hyper invested in the conversation about some lunatic cutting his own fingers off. I love this channel.
Madcap was the yellow text box in deadpools head, not the white one. The white one is the serious one, whereas the yellow one is the jokey one, and thus was the one that was later retconned into being madcap.
I've read a few issues of Power Pack from the Marvel Adventures line. They're also mentioned in Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe where it's implied that he kills them. The oldest brother of the Power Pack joins the Future Foundation
The Power Pack are thankfully all teenagers now in 616, which isn't that much better, but they have Ms. Marvel, Miles Morales and the Champions and all of those teen heroes to help out. The ones I'm scared for are Kid Kaiju and Moon Girl, those two are way too young to be heroes, especially without a team. KK is like 11 and MG is like 8.
Daredevil is my Favorite Hero. Yet he has Very few Great opponents. The Trick to making a GREAT DD villain is to either-or Make him or her an Excellent Fighter that could physically combat the Devil of Hells Kitchen; or, someone that puts the FEAR and TERROR into Mathew's ❤. Someone that he just Really DOESN'T want to fight. Or know that he's even real. "Big and Brutal. Or Ungodly Terrorizing" is the 🔑
The Serpent Squad was a pretty regular part of Captain America during Gruenwald’s run, and Cap’s eventual girlfriend, Diamondback/Rachel, was a member. Gruenwald obviously loved Captain America but his run was mostly awful.
As a lifelong fan of Power Pack I am delighted to see it featured on GB&A. Slightly bummed it was the Madcap issue though. Once co-creator Louise Simonson left the book became really strange. Really fun episode though.
I have an idea for a theme, possibly short books that you don’t want to do a full back issues on but might have entertaining stories, like punisher: confederacy of dunces, or something like that. I can’t really think of some other examples but I’m sure there’s plenty...
Curse of the Spawn #1, Captain America #1 (1996), X-Nation 2099 #1, The Punisher #1 (Mangaverse), Mars Attacks Savage Dragon #1, Captain America #307, [REDACTED], and [REDACTED].
In the new run of Fantastic Four, Spider-man tries to give Franklin the "Great power, great responsibility" speech. The Thing immediately grabbed Spidey by the scruff of the neck and noped him out of the scene. BTW, weren't Power Pack the ones that found Angel post Mutant Massacre, when he was essentially crucified by the wings? You know, kid's stuff.
That's interesting! Ben didn't vote Cap as the Ugly, so it wasn't unanimously Ugly, but it makes the wrong box. But Madcap is the subject and he's so off the wall, I think it fits lolz.
Just to change the subject a little (without sounding to creepy) it's a pleasure to see so many young ladies in the comic game now (not just this channel but others), in my younger days a girl wouldn't even look at a comic book or wouldn't even give you a second look if you were into them. Comic books were like anti-girl spray, now I am seeing a lot of cute young ladies in the game now. I go into comic shops now and it's like 1 girl to every 2 guys (they're catching up), when I was a kid a comic book store was straight-up guys only (and that was not by choice) keep up the good work ladies.
Really? I still don't see many girls into comics on RUclips. Off the top of my head, I just know Danica (ComicBookGirl19) and Tiffany. I'd love to have more comic girls to follow if you have suggestions.
Future theme idea, books that were released the month and year you were born. I’m willing to do my best and help track some down for you and send them to you.
I think Daredevil is the Good, those axe and fire scenes were dope Captain America is the Bad because the bag boy stuff was dumb and funny in discussion And Power Pack is the ugly
Madcap is what would happen if the Cat in the Hat put on the Mask.
As a former bag boy I can say I used to stock groceries, clean spills, pick up carts, and sweep & mop at night

Ben's "double bag it" line instantly reminded me why this channel is so great.
Sensational she hulk #9, avengers spotlight #29, and the impossible man summer vacation spectacular #1 are the next 3 madcap appearances. I hope he shows up in the mcu and becomes a good guy.
He most recently had a rivalry with Deadpool

Yes. She Hulk would be great.

this was a real fun one. Wonder what you can do with madcap on back issues
There should be more Rogers/Braddock crossover.
"Here you are, Cap." "Thank you, Cap."
I love madcap he’s just a wacky character, imagine if they turned him into a marvel version of joker with that healing factor lol
You know the biggest mistake in Jack Monroe's life? When his mom and dad thought one night "Eh. Let's risk it." Nobody screws Jack Monroe except life.
*sound of corpse being shoved into a trunk*
I've never heard of Madcap before but now he's one of my favorite characters
Ethan just Dying listening to this while Ben is on the side hyper invested in the conversation about some lunatic cutting his own fingers off. I love this channel.
today my birthday and this video was tons of fun to watch :)
Happy birthday!
ComicPOP thank you 😊
Tevya Smolka happy birthday good sir!
william Gazca thank you man
Happy Birthday
A theme I would love in the future of GBU would probably be Superhero Funerals, WTF Versions of Batman, WTF Versions of Superman or Lobo cameos.
I love the dynamic of these four. Keep it up.
“I mean ya don’t because it’s stupid, but ya do because you want to have sex...” 😂 A+ for delivery, Sal! 🤣
I feel a little attacked by sharing a name with Nomad, only a little though...
Take comfort knowing you're so much cooler than he is.
Holy shit that last one is terrifying!

Aren't the power pack also in Marvel Zombies?
Fun fact: the power pack were going to be one of the first marvel movies, before the MCU
Just left work and seen this!! Awesome

Cap has a stash of MRE's like Bert from Tremors
Hey Comic pop have you ever thought of making a series about the terminology of the comic industry or how a comic is made
Literally discussing it today.
Tiff, you've gone mad!
She's lost her cap some might say!
It's ZaaAny! it's MaadnEss!! Wubwubwubwub!
OMG I used to know that thing about Deadpools mind joining with someone but didn't expect this
Wrong box: Redemption would be epic! Also maybe one about issues of iron man where a new suit is introduced.
@50:42 lol what... the... fuuuuu
An hour long gbu? Perfect companion on my bike ride. Thanks CP

Another great GBU would really like to see the return of Letters Page.

Sal, you should do a back issues on the original Slapstick mini-series.
Perfect timing.
As a bagger I feel personally attacked by this.
Do theses books have the comics code?
What is currently in the Wrong Box?
Curse of the Spawn #1, Captain America #1 (1996), X-Nation 2099 #1, The Punisher #1 (Mangaverse), Mars Attacks Savage Dragon #1, Captain America #307, [REDACTED], and [REDACTED].
And tonight on to catch a predator... madcap, with your host Chris henson
Have a seat.
2:05 At least the cover art didn't lie for once. It looks like it was traced from the panel in the last minute lol.

@@WhiteRaven696 Theres quite a few in the industry, not so many on RUclips
With comic shops in college neighborhoods it's more like either 2/5 or 1/2 deppending on the day you go dude.
Cant wait for the next MadCap themed show! Dude is wacky defined.
Madcap is the most insane character in all if comics
Future theme idea, books that were released the month and year you were born. I’m willing to do my best and help track some down for you and send them to you.
Check ya discs!
I’m not gonna lie, Mad Cap sounds amazing especially in the daredevil book
In Deadpool by Duggan is GOLD
Awesome.
funniest" The good,The bad, & The ugliest" yet !!!
Mad cap. Nice
I think Daredevil is the Good, those axe and fire scenes were dope
Captain America is the Bad because the bag boy stuff was dumb and funny in discussion
And Power Pack is the ugly
Oh man. Madcap is crazy, and dumb. But this was a greatly enjoyable episode.
