He watched every death, waiting, patiently. When Puss had finally reached his final life, death appeared. Chasing, hunting...waiting. A tune so inviting, yet so menacing. He was no collecting a soul, he was trying to take it. Puss did not value life because he had so much time....but time always catches up. Death caught up because death is time. That's why in the end he spared him...for now. But time(death) always runs out, "You know we'll meet again?" *whistles*

I want more people to realise how absolutely chilling what he does at 1:36 is. The skill required to catch the blade mid-thrust to prevent it from hitting him and laugh while doing it is not only so high it's mind-boggling, but it in fact would have been easier for him to just straight up kill Puss there instead. This is like shooting the knife out of your opponent's hand instead of killing them outright. He could have already killed you, whatever he is doing now he is doing it for fun because you pose such little challenge he has to make it harder for himself to make it worth his while.

@@garymarshall7559 funnily enough, I had no idea about the movie until I started seeing this character pop up on my recommendations. Then I was like "Damn, that looks awesome" and it was indeed awesome.
One explanation could be that there are multiple Big Bad Wolves. The Big Bad Wolf in Shrek is the one from Little Red Riding Hood, while this one is different. Another explanation is that this is a soft reboot of the franchise, hence the change in artstyle, and they retconned Big Bad Wolf to make him more badass.
I love that they made Death a wolf. It has so many connotations in the other fairy tales as we all know "the big, bad wolf". Does it mean the three little pigs tried to hide away from Death? Does it mean Little Red Riding Hood tried to outsmart Death? Or were they separate unrelated wolves? Who knows? Edit: Literally just posted this comment then saw 2 related videos of PiB Death with video titles containing "Big, Bad Wolf".
It’s the one from three little piggies more than the one from little red, because little red’s one is a creep and the piggy one is a metaphore for death and other unfortunate accidents. In the story, the three little piggies put varying effort into protecting themselves from danger, the story is meant to symbolise how accounting for possible dangers is laughed away at first, but then everyone relies on the person who actually prepared.
@@emberthecatgirl8796 I agree with you on that, including Lil' Red's wolf being a creep but I think the wolf could still be Death in her story. After all, the story of Lil Red is a bit ambiguous as to it's ending. In Perrault's version, the story ends with Red being eaten by the wolf. But in the brothers Grimms' tale, Red is eaten by the wolf but saved by the woodsman. Either way, in these tales, the wolf has his mind set upon bringing about others' deaths, albeit in the weird way of disguising himself as someone's aged grandmother and stalking down innocent girls. The wolf in both of these tales is supposed to be more about a warning of strangers than death itself, granted, but the wolf still has death on the mind. And I'd think the PiB wolf is the same from the Boy Who Cried Wolf, so he'd be no stranger to taking children's lives. Aaaaaaand, I've gone too dark talking about a children's film... 😅
I think the wolf symbolizes the main character learning a lesson that can save his life. Little red, the pigs, and puss. I think the BBW symbolizes this learning journey about death.
I think its not the same wolf it just coincidence he take a form of a wolf that whats a cat fears if puss a human death will probably take form of a skeleton to haunt him.
The moment in the movie that gave me *chills* was the moment where he took the coins and put them over his eyes, then, in the same movement, pointed his fingers out towards Puss. All the while whistling his tune. Just the symbolism in that moment was brilliant

I think this wolf may be inspired by Russian and other Slavic folklore. Here is details. In Russian folklore, the death wolf, also known as the "Volkhv" or "Veshchyy Volk" (meaning "divine wolf" or "miracle wolf"), is a supernatural creature that is said to escort the souls of the deceased to the afterlife.
