thank you for spelling out the logic! i've always got confused whenever I try to pivot/unpivot my data. Could you explain "Unpivot Column" too?

One thing, after pivoting, getting back to the original by unpivoting?

Delete the step 'pivot column' from the right panel that records(tracks) every step we perform in power query,
And hence you'll get back to the original table.
Goodly please correct me if I am wrong.

Just remove the applied step and it will go back to the original format
