Thanks for sharing this training with us. I rewatched key points in this video over and over. Keeping the opposite arm to your back leg forward is a great way to keep your body language open and in balance. I have been surfing since i was 9. I surfed compeditively in my teens and early twenties. While I was doing what you are teaching here. It made me refect on my technique and make small changes. You generate more power this was as well. I love all of your videos!!

While I think the Carver boards are really good fun, I think that super squirrely front truck simply does not approximate how a surfboard turns. A surfboard pivots off the mid rail and tail, not the near nose. That fall at 4:37 is that dumb front truck going squirrely.

@ombe What is the key difference between what Ant did wrong on the ramp (when he got frustrated and banged his helmet) and when he did it right a bit later on as they look fairly similar?

The surfing in this looks so mechanical and unnatural. Looks like you are way overcomplicating everything. No style or flow. I'd heard a lot about Ombe but after seeing this... no thank you.

It's called a learning process. No one looks smooth from day 1 or on the way to getting it right. They are willing to post their progress at the expense of themselves - opening themselves up for comments like this - for others to learn and improve even if it's one aspect at a time.
      Let's keep it positive

@@marnuscoetsee2153 I get that, I just think they are teaching unnatural habits and a mechanical technique. 90% of surfers learn without all this stuff and end up figuring it out and developing their own style. Surfing is traditionally a sport learnt based on feel and time in the water. Not all these 'rules'.
And I was more talking about the surfing of the coaches, I wouldn't want to be copying them. The bloke learning is just trying his best, good on him.

@@ryanbothma2092 the guy talking to the camera isn't a coach he's also a student but Clayton is a good surfer but a very good coach who has coached super stylish surfers like Jordy smith and Mikey February

I kinda feel the same as Ryan. watching them in the wave pool with their hands up like trained seals looks a bit odd... BUT they are still surfing, smiling and enjoying it so they are leaps and bounds ahead of most surfers I know who get a bit of a complex.
It comes down to enjoyment and expression and they have both of them
