Hi everyone - It's come to my attention that there has been someone masquerading as myself, responding to some comments here with a link to a Telegram chat to win a prize from me. THIS IS A SCAM, I am not holding a contest, nor do I have a Telegram account. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE MESSAGES!! It's happening on a lot of my videos, I'm taking steps to remove them manually, but as I have 162 videos, it will take some time. If you do run across a suspicious comment, I would appreciate you letting me know at info@dronebotworkshop.com. Thanks! Bill (The real one!)
I don’t usually comment on videos but this is amazing. First channel on this kind of stuff that has left me feeling empowered and capable instead of confused and discouraged. Thank you for your amazing videos and keep up the great work.
@@cryptohippo6008 No. I'm ashamed, but I changed my mind. I wanted to build a really good one. ...good motors, wheels/tires, frame, pov camera, etc. I'd also need some tools, like a welder. IIRC, I figured I would spend $1300, not including the mower. So my Arduino kit has been collecting dust.
Hey man I just gave my neet exam for which I studied 2 years without my hobbies... So now I want to give time to my hobbies i recommend you some videos please make viDeo if possible coz no one explains better than you.. Tesla coil real working Continue making a real robot series Long range rc control with fpv Line follower robot Arduino basics Raspberry pi robots Etc..Please make at least 1 video out of these in 2 weeks..
Hi! Bill, thank you for sharing and I really appreciate for you showing us how to work with RC flysky which is something I am currently also working on to get a bot tank working. Your video for today really helps a lot. Thank you.
Hello Bill, Maybe one day you can do a video about just a few of the vast number of FlySky Receivers that are available. Also, Improvement modifications such as replacing antennas on the Transmitter for improved performance.
As you have FS-I6X version of the controller, you don't need to update the firmware to enable channels from 7 to 10. You just need to go to the System setup > Aux switches. There you enable additional switches and increase number of channels. The tricky part is that you need hold Cancel longer to save new settings. Then you go to the Functions setup > Aux. channels and bind switches to channels.
Hi Bill!!! How are you? Greetings from Brazil!! I really like your videos with very explanatory content. Congratulations on your commitment!! If possible, I would like you to show us a replacement of the L298 with two BTS7960 drives which are very robust for larger motors. I hope your RUclips channel enthusiasts will support me in this request. Hugs from a fan and friend.
This was excellent! I've got to build it. Again, thanks for the well made well explained videos you produce, you put alot of work into them and quality is amazing.
very interesting as always. if I may suggest a future video, I would LOVE to learn how to get an arduino (or similar) to GENERATE the RC signals to talk to the RC receiver, instead of the radio. it would allow you to control off the shelf drones, for example! 😊 thanks again
You must've known I was thinking about getting back into RC. Amazon literally just dropped off the FS-i6X along with the FS-iA6B and FS-iA10B receivers to me today! Took me ages to figure out how to read the signal from the receivers on the Arduino before finding this (haven't messed with servos before). I didn't think it'd be as much of a pain as it was. :)
Some 3.3V microcontrollers have 5V tolerant GPIOs. They can only output 3.3V, but can handle 5V inputs. Many STM32 GPIO pins are 5V tolerant, including on the "blue pill" and "black pill" boards.
hi, could you do a tutorial how to send data control from esp32 and use flysky receiver decode data to control drone / car ? so I would like to use home wifi instead of flysky, or use flysky and esp32 to send data to flysky ? thanks
sir i am making a remote control car with 315 MHz transmitter and receiver and antenna. the data is only being transferred till the distance of about 15 cm. how can i increase the range?
Hey, great video. I appreciate how you distill things down to convey real understanding. Re: Arduino between RC rx and motor driver: I've been told that there is a passthrough mode on some Arduino PWM ports where incoming PWM signals can simply be passed through to the motor driver *or* the port can be set to disregard incoming PWM signals and that puts the Arduino in full control. It seems like you are using a different, more intuitive method where you measure the PWM input and then output (or not) PWM on a different port, no? I've been told that this method introduces significant latency. Could you speak to that? I'm about to start on this exact thing here tonight. Btw, if I'm only using 3 channels (motor, steering, Arduino control ON/OFF) ... can't I use an Arduino Nano for this project? THANK YOU for your help. :)
It's been a long while, but I've been wanting to know for a long time. Why did you stop building your robot? Were there not enough viewers or something. I really liked that project. I wasn't building along with you but I generally don't, but I never missed a single video of that series. I knew you were going to get burned out when you tried doing two videos every week one on the robot and one regular. However I didn't expect you to drop it completely. Maybe I did miss a video, because I never heard you say you were going to stop building it. Thanks and have a great day
I have two 300W wheelchair motors running a heavy cart that spools up a hot air balloon fabric (using a winch motor). I am using a cheap 48V-60V 1000W Motor Brush Controller. I want to use a Sabertooth 2x32 with radio control. That part is simple enough, but then I want to hand it off to an Arduino for a parking routine (following a wall and stopping in its space). How can I hand off the R/C to the Arduino and wire it to work?
really cool experiments,....but im going crazy, im trying the similar setup the 3th time but my one dont work,...if im turn on transmitter, the status led on the receiver starts to flash but with dark emissions, the led is not bright as normal,....when i turn off the transm the led on rec flash low like normal with normal brithness,...maybe you have a idea whats going wrong? thank you very much and greets from austria, Joe
hi sir, interesting reading the receiver using arduino board, but what if using nodemcu? is it posible ? I'm trying to make rc car controlled over the internet using websocket. so in the car side i will use raspberry zero2 w with internet connection and make service to read json data from websocket to control servo and throttle. And in the transmitter side, connect receiver with nodemcu esp8266 without modifying transmitter gun. the function of nodemcu is to read data from receiver and send all that datas to websocket using json format. with this shema, is it possible sir ?
Hi great video, I heard you say that 2.4ghz is a line of sight control, what is the best type of controller to control out-of-site stuff, i.e through walls, trees and buildings etc..? A
I'm a beginner with ardunio. I appreciate your content and have learned a lot. I want to control a linear actuator with the 3 position switch on the FlySky i6x. I wasn't able to find anything on your channel or anywhere else. Can you point me in the right direction?
Not sure if you've already found a solution, but you can simply use the readChannel function for the 3-pos switch e.g. swC = readChannel(8, -1, 1, -1).
@@darrenjcosborne thanks! I set that project to the side to work on others with higher priority. I didn’t have a solution and I’m glad you provided the answer.

It looks like fun stuff coming in the future. Thanks for the video!
Good to see you here! Huge fan 🥰
I'm a big fan of you, Jeremy.

Very informative video! Thank you for making videos like this. Two thumbs up for you, sir.
