It was once said that no carefully crafted plan to deal with the snow survives first contact with the enemey. Snow just seems to make it's own rules. Saying that let battle commence. Teamwork makes dreamwork. When I was living in the west country (UK) first the snow then the flooding. Every year. You can learn a lot about logistics and strategy moving snow. Thanks for posting....
Moving snow, something I've only had to do once this year in MN. Second year in a row with almost no snow, so far. Mostly bare ground with just a little around that hasn't melted. Very strange! Thanks for the video and some Bo the Drifter, one of my favorites!
The three of you having fun maintaining the road. If snow removal does not become overwhelming it seems like frozen road conditions are preferable versus mud or dust. Except for icy uphill grades on the ranch roads. Pros and cons in everything I guess.
Nice rear blade - I have looked for one of these for our 1973 406 Unimog. I have an older articulating FORD Blade that we have rewelded several times! LOL! Thanks for posting your progress!
It sucks moving slush, but definately saves you from later in the year and from big ugly frozen ruts! I think this winter is going to be like 2 years ago. Hopefully you enjoyed the "easy" winter last year.
No fun, breakdowns. But you've shown us you're a well equipped, capable man. So drive on. Also, core wire provides more weld penetration. Good choice Marc.
when i was growing up we had knee deep snow fron Nov to Mar and constant temps in the teens. now we get 2 to 4 in and melts in 4 days. no snow pack which is why we are in a drought
Not to get personal but could you tell us what you wear when you do this. I work outside as a welderesult and can not stay warm . Hands and feet. .thanks for the video and the tunes.
DISCLAIMER Not be a critic but isn’t getting a plow on your truck a better option and how did you get assigned the job of chief road maintainer that other residents benefit from?
It's been a while since I've caught your video's as we've had alot going on....what happened to the Erskine front snow blower rear pto driven for clearing the snow?
We had such inconsistencies in the weather that’s why I went with blading it, much faster and who knew what would melt and not. I will be pulling out my snowblower when we get more consistent temperatures and more then 4 inches of snow:)
I was not able to place it in a safe area, and Ola did the best to edit out my hind end out as much as possilbe. I do so much repairs on things, I need to come up with a way to film it and not damange the camara or it be really in the way. But I agree, tried to keep that segment as short as I could. Thank you
Ever thought of welding some skis to bottom of blade to make it ride a few inches above where it does now? Watched a guy on another channel do that and he said itbworked great. @RedPoppyRanch ...just a thought. ❤❤

OH NO!....Always something to fix!
You are truly a genius with machines! That is such a long road to always have to plow.
Getting the water off the road -- perfect job!

What about putting a metal pipe on the blade to help with the rocks??
15 minutes in you are having the same issue a we are - that king pin holding the blade is sloppy... still does the job though!
what kind of recycled beer can metal is this broken part made of?
I thought you had a snow blower, was this snow just not enough to use it on?

Do you team up with your neighbors to keep the main road cleared? It seems if you own farm equipment you must also know how to weld.
They help absolutely, I was sick for a few days and the neighbors helped plow, we have a mutual understanding of whoever gets to it gets to it.
When do you choose to use the snowblower
We had such inconsistencies in the weather that’s why I went with blading it, much faster and who knew what would melt and not.

the best way to weld this part is 7018 1/8 not mig welding
could weight added on to the top of the blade help?... just wondered thats all... xxc
Yes it can for sure. It would help cut into that snow layer for sure.
@@MountainMapleRanch thanks mark
curious, how many miles do you plow o the public road ?
It’s about 2.5 miles on the county road, I do 4 passes to get it all cleared.
Too bad the neighbor up the road doesn't help you as it benefit that family also !@@MountainMapleRanch
They do help.
I was sick for a few days and they helped a lot. We have like an understanding, whoever gets to it first kind of thing.
Ola, does Terrell and Mindy still live up there ?
@@mariowickel456 yes :) they are doing great, we talk with them all the time and they have been helping with advice on the horses.
I thought you built a shed to keep your equipment in. If you did then what the heck is all that white stuff on the tractor.
haha right? I use that dang thing daily, I just got the shop cleanered out and it will be parked there for the winter months.
🖐😎👍
😎
youl want to get a new 3 point arm it has a lot of carbon in it it will snap off again
😀
Mark, I always enjoy your narrative and as usual this was no exception. However during the repair your camera angle was horrible. All back side.
I was not able to place it in a safe area, and Ola did the best to edit out my hind end out as much as possilbe. @@MountainMapleRanchno sweat. Just proved you're human after all..
Suggestion: mount a camera where the video one is and a monitor on your front dash. Saves your neck. 😂
One defitely can't be squemish living where you do. Enjoy trialsand tribulations.

Red poppy is our neighbor:) those skis really did turn out great.
