I'm one of the members currently doing the english subtitles for Ton's opening talk. ;-) And i can honestly say, i understand him even better now. However for the life of me, i do not understand why RUclips chose to 'automaticaly' translate to Dutch.

With Blender 2.8 I'm looking at shifting across - 'love the ethos and recent structuring/development that's been going on in the last year and it's great to hear Ton talk - so different to the 'corporate type conferences'. :-)
Wow blender is seventeen years old, I only had a pc for four years when it was released, playing Red Alert 2, the first version probably wouldn’t even run on my voodoo 2 card of the time, been learning Blender for 18 months now, 2019 is going to be a good year for CG when 2.8 drops
I am surprised by the number of people in the comment section who assume that Ton has a particular accent, and not hearing that he has a speech impediment. That's why he cannot pronounce certain sounds as most people do. Please, you all, put some effort into listening. Every time Ton speaks, he puts effort into it too.

I always wondered about this , I know Ton is dutch and some Dutch people have difficulties speaking english , pronounciation wise , but does Ton have some kind of speaking dissability ? He strugles with the 'SShhh ' and 'GGG' sounds , sounds produced when the tongue hits the palette of te mouth like there is a part of his tongue cut of ? I am just genuinly curious .

I really really really hope that blender takes over autodesk and make something beautiful like blender from that scrap I am not saying Maya is. A bad software guys just it's complicated too much u.i crash bugs blah blah blah so pls blender make autodesk a beautiful place like blender
I want to use it for game development but it's such a pain to use for me personally.. I wanted to make pre-rendered graphics for 2D games like in the old days, but everything i would try just did not look right or come out right. I think it's my poor video card and i need more RAM.

I've been using Blender since 2.43. I'm used to Ton's accent by now and understood everything. Keep Blender great!

I will get there one of these years. I have been using Blender professionally for Arch Viz for 12 years.

I wouldn't call it a typical Dutch accent, this is Ton's personal way of speaking. You have to get to use (and appreciate) it :-)
