I tried this pedal at a local drum store. It was dipped in butter and was so smooth I thought it was fake. I will be buying this pedal in the near future.
Awesome thanks! Great to hear your feedback and we definitely appreciate your weighing your options before ending with us. :) It sounds like the 9000 would be the best fit for you. It is easy going with adjust-ability to generate your power and the smoothest feeling pedal to make speed an easy option. Thanks again!
Thanks for asking! It does prove tricky with the free floating rotor style cam to have it move back and forth. You could always have the pedal on good surface away from the bass drum head for distance if needed.
Thanks for choosing the 9000 pedal! We got a 9000 high hat when you are ready. With the adjustments, feel free to experiment but always play what feels the best!
Thanks for your suggestion! We will take it into consideration for sure! We do currently offer a DWSP052 which is our long-board foot-board with bracket for the 5000 series.
Had a chase to try these out at Sam Ash a few years ago and i totally fell in love with them. They felt so smooth and powerful with great control. Gotta get 'em soon.
Thanks for asking! It does come down to your foot size with your technique. If you felt like you had room to spare then you are good to go. If not, you are can always go with the extended foot-board version(DWCP9000XF). Same parts with a longer foot-board!
Hey there! The DWCP9000 pedals are the newer style pedal with the upgrades and the DWCP9002PC are the older style we had for many years. Hope this helps to clear things up for you!
Awesome! Enjoy! Best thing to do is to remove any dust or dirt from the moving part's area's. Dust or dirt can do bad work of a bearing or a joint because the eventual grinding that could happen. We use a 3 N 1 for the bearing and joint areas also for lubrication.
Thanks so much for your support of our pedals over the years! We unfortunately are not offering an upgrade pack for older style 9000's. We hope you are going to be ok with that. Thanks again!
Thanks for asking! You can always specify with your dealer that you are ordering the newer style with the part number DWCP9000. This part number will insure you the 2013 9000 pedal. Thanks again!
Used to use way old DW 5000 at church, bought pearl demon drive 3 years ago, there hasn't been a day that I wished I should've gone for the DW 9002 instead. props to DW for making one of the best pedal out there.
...while setting up in a hurried manor for a live show or even session work. The Infinite Adjustable cam is only on the main side of the pedal because this is the cam that is actually working towards the stroke on to the bass drum. Again sorry for any inconvenience and we hope you can find a way to enjoy drumming on your 9002!
Thanks for choosing the 9000 pedals! You can not switch out the upgrade parts unfortunately. Your dealer was partly responsible for letting you know if you were getting the upgraded version. Our dealers will sell out of their older 9000 stock first unless you request the newer version most likely. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks for choosing DW! Sorry to hear about the clicking noise. Chances are that there is a clicking noise from a moving part. You are still under warranty and we can replace any part or repair the pedal for you at no charge. Please feel free to contact our customer service at customerservice@dwdrums(dot)com with anymore questions you might have.
Sorry for any confusion on the amount of adjustments. We do appreciate your suggestion for pedal adjusting specialists! We are always here to assist you with any questions if your dealer can not answer for you. Feel free to contact our customer service department at customerservice@dwdrums.com or 1-800-45-drums ext. 450. These upgrades for the 9000 pedals are exclusive to the newest model so there is not option to upgrade an older style pedal with these upgrades. Thanks for your post!
We introduced the 9000 pedal in Titanium some years back. Thomas has been with us exclusively for a couple of years now but we have no record of making a pedal like this for him because of the Titanium pedal has been discontinued for some years now. Sorry we couldn't be of more help to you.
I just got my first drum kit in 36 years, so I bought the DW 5000 Accelerator and realized I have no idea what I like. So I sent it back for the DW 9000 so I can try different cam settings along with the nylon strap vs. chain. Looks like I chose the right pedal. We'll see!
Thanks for choosing DW and thanks so much for your feedback. So sorry to hear your Universal Joints we were for you. Did you get replacements?? Moving parts to carry a 6 month warranty.
Finally got my 9000 double!! Best pedal ever!! i've only had it a month, I switched from Axis long boards so its taking some getting used to but I love it! still trying to figure out these adjustments lol, great pedal from the best!! just need my 9000 hi hat now.
Actually the cam system as it works, is the main difference. The 9000 Series cam is a free floating rotor system while the 5000 series is a sprocket with a chain system. Hope this helps to clear things up for you!
We're great thanks! Just playing catch up after the holidays. We do have the option for installing a beater for the slave side of the pedal. Sorry the pic tells a different story.
Thanks for your reply. Please accept my comments in the spirit in which they were meant: as suggestions. I am REALLY enjoying the new DW9002 pedals...I'm a bit surprised by how much more I'm liking them than my 5002 pedals from 2008. Maybe it's the cam adjustment that's doing it for me? I found the 5002s too heavy (for me). I have no issues with recommending the DW 9002 to anyone. All the best.
I have a question for DW. I love the feeling of the 9000, but I have one problem. Unlike most pedals, the spring is on the inside of the pedal. This concerns me because I do a lot of quick single bass foot work (doubles, triplets etc.) and I feel the spring gets in the way, especially with a size 13 shoe. I have talked to others about this and they have agreed with me. Even the long boards have the spring on the inside. This gets in the way with my foot technique among other experienced drummers I talk to. Please do not take this the wrong way though! I love Drum Workshop and I own some of the products (stands, 5000 single pedal). So I guess my question is; do you guys think you will make an upgrade in the future, where the spring is on the outside of the pedal, much like what the 5000 has. Thank you for your time. Hope to hear back from you guys!
I still think you guys should work on an attachment to make any of your pedals longboards!! I have the DW 7000 double pedal, and would love a chance to make it a direct drive!!
Just make sure you are wanting the newest version of the 9000 pedal. Use DWCP9000 or DWCP9002 for the part numbers for the single or double versions. Check out the link for our dealer locator below. Thanks! locator(dot)dwdrums(dot)com/drum/
Sorry for your frustration Richard! All these parts are how we set up the pedal with the feedback from our customers driving the design. With loc-tite we feel its safer to be sorry. If there was not loc-tite applied in certain areas those parts could come out easier and be lost or at worse case scenario have the pedal function poorly. The velcro on the pedal plates was a another example of our customers complaining about it being hard to making small adjustments to where their pedal would sit...
As your pedals have more adjustment features that allow for a more customizable feel, they also become more difficult to dial in. I think it'd be cool if some of you major retailers has "pedal fitting specialists." They could hold events where people could come in to have their pedal adjusted (or possibly upgraded to the next model ;) ). Just an idea I thought I'd share with one of my favorite companies. I'd imagine that one of your marketing challenges is getting people to upgrade more often.
Hi! I've been a HUGE DW fan since Don and John were in a basement building pedals themselves! Owned every DW double pedal made. I've loved them all! Well, just a little over a year ago my beloved 5002 gave up the ghost, so I bought a 9002 and cannot tell you how blown away I am. I can't gush about the 9000's enough. But in the interest of full disclosure, I felt there were two minor flaws, only affecting convenience and not feel or action, that could be remedied. And~~>continued
Ok good! You're local dealer just might have one in stock for you! We hope they do! Let us know how it goes. Your dealer can always order the pedal for you, too.
~~>wouldn't you know it! They were the same exact things DW felt needed upgrading--the Velcro and the toe clamp! I am crushed tho, because I just spent my life savings on my new DW beauty (worth every penny BTW) but really want the upgrades. I cannot afford the new pedal. Is there a way I can upgrade my new/old 9002?? Please say yes. =)
Hey Guys, how are you? I have a doubt, why in the DW website, the pic of DW 9002, the slave pedal don't have the part that we can put the other hammer? Thx
could you do a video with aaron thier presenting his DW-Kit? I recently saw that hes endorsing your drums, pedal and hardware, hes such a god behind the kit and I think he deserves more attention
DW when are you going to make a pedal that has a direct link drive to it???? im going to keep bugging you about it till i get my dream pedal from you guys!
I have used the 9002 for quite a while...I am planning on getting a PDP BOA Connecting Rod (DWSP511) but I think that it will take a long time since I am living in Hong Kong...I wonder can I order it :S Anyway, you guys make great gears and I love them :D
Gah these are amazing. I would love to be able to get them. I had the 5002's but they were stolen at a gig in Georgia along with my sabian cymbals. So I got the pdp's just cause that's all I could afford and now I upgraded to the older 7000 series with single chain. Sooooo much Better then the PDP's but I wish I still had my 5000's. and what I would give to have these. Love all DW products. Always my top choice!!
I have a question: I really love the pedal but I was able to try it in a hurry with no time to explore it deeply...and now that I observe it I wonder if the springs inside the frame are likely to be an obstacle for the sliding technique since I sometimes slide my foot till almos touching the chain. Another case of this would be when playing heel-toe technique.
Thanks very much for your kind words! Have a great holiday season!
You are very welcome! The Infinite Adjustable Cam is exclusive to this version of the 9000 series pedal.
We hear and appreciate your suggestion. We will see what we can do!
Glad to hear the pedal is working great for you beyond the spring placement! We appreciate your feedback!
Great to hear! Thanks for your feedback!
Our pleasure! It is very important to get any type of feedback from our customers! Enjoy your 9002!!
currently using a DW5000... damn effortless kick drumming! gotta love it
Thanks! Glad you are liking the new features!
I tried this pedal at a local drum store. It was dipped in butter and was so smooth I thought it was fake. I will be buying this pedal in the near future.
Ok! We appreciate your enthusiasm! We promise to keep you posted!
We hear better than you might think...details coming soon. Thanks for your feedback and kind words!
We appreciate your interest! It is always best to try out a few pedals before you are set. If we make your choice we are very flattered!
Wow since 1992?!?! Thanks for your support!
Nice! We like that, "dipped in butter." We are very happy you liked the 9000 pedal! We got one for you when you are ready!
Thanks for asking! It does prove tricky with the free floating rotor style cam to have it move back and forth. You could always have the pedal on good surface away from the bass drum head for distance if needed.
Well we are happy to hear you liked the single 9000! Thanks so much!
Thanks for choosing the 9000 pedal! We got a 9000 high hat when you are ready. With the adjustments, feel free to experiment but always play what feels the best!
DW Makes outstanding drums and outstanding equipment. Keep up the great work DW.
Thanks for your suggestion! We will take it into consideration for sure!
We do currently offer a DWSP052 which is our long-board foot-board with bracket for the 5000 series.
No worries there! We made sure to R&D this new pedal surface and it sticks like the Velcro with out sticking when you remove it.
We appreciate your enthusiasm! We don't mind you bugging us at all! We'll keep you posted!
Awesome! Thanks for choosing the 9000 series pedals!

Sweet thanks for your feedback! We got some for your when you're ready!
Hey there! The DWCP9000 pedals are the newer style pedal with the upgrades and the DWCP9002PC are the older style we had for many years. Hope this helps to clear things up for you!

The 5000 Series will always been in our discussions for new pedal types the 9000 series might prove fruitful towards a direct drive model.
Only dw pedals since 1992! Wow. They were a birthday gift from my parents.
great video but is there a video coming out that actually shows how the adjustments work . I own the pedal but I need a 101 on how to adjust . thanks
Thanks for choosing the 5000 and 9000 pedals! We do not offer an upgrade pack. Sorry about that!

Well the Boa linkage is a monster for sure! Your local DW dealer should be able to order it for you! Thanks again!
it is in the discussion! No release date as of yet!
Fair enough! Enjoy your 5000's!

Aaron who exactly? We love posting as many videos as possible of course!
You are very welcome!

Thanks for thinking we are the best! We do have the best customers that's for sure!
We felt this would be functional still and still could feature the upgrade on the main side of the pedal. We hope this works for you!

All very relative for sure! No major price change!
We love you!
Sorry to hear you 5000's got stolen! Glad you got back on the team with the 7000's though. Enjoy!

I still think you guys should work on an attachment to make any of your pedals longboards!! I have the DW 7000 double pedal, and would love a chance to make it a direct drive!!
Hhhhmmm...we'll have to hold of that answer. We promise to keep you posted though!

Not to get off topic, but when will the B.O.A. pedal system be re-introduced???
Hey Guys, how are you? I have a doubt, why in the DW website, the pic of DW 9002, the slave pedal don't have the part that we can put the other hammer? Thx
is the price on the pedal gonna go up? i would be disappointed if it did because the old nines are expensive as it is
I know that feel, bro. Maybe DW can make a direct-drive add-on that you can swap out with the chain mechanism, like the Crush M1 pedals.
I have a DW 9000 double pedal and a single DW 5000 pedal. Can these pedals be upgraded to the current version by sending them to DW?
Just under 6 inches. We hope this works for you!
Nothing official yet! We promise to keep you posted though!
Hi there, May i know what is the difference between DW9000 double bass pedals and DW9002PC double bass pedals?
If i bought a DW9000 back in 2012 (November) I thought it was gonna be the upgraded version, would i be able to switch them out?
Ugh I need a job so I can buy all the wonderful things DW makes! No doubt about it DW gets it right everytime!
I'm in Australia and I want to buy this pedal... how can I be sure I'm getting this new edition? Can you recommend a distributor?
No these upgrades are for the new 9000 pedals only.
It's a soft enough clip to accept different sizes but should hold yours in there!
could you do a video with aaron thier presenting his DW-Kit? I recently saw that hes endorsing your drums, pedal and hardware, hes such a god behind the kit and I think he deserves more attention
