@@ismailcelik425 Miyadun in Armenian language means "one house". Indicating it's a very small village. Although it has an Armenian name, in the Armenian books it is stated that "Miyadun is a Kurdish-inhabited village near Tadem" (Tadim). Maybe Miyadin also has a meaning in Kurdish language. Probably if there were a few Armenians in Miyadin they were considered part of the community of Tadem to the south or Sursuri to the north, depending on where they lived. There was no Armenian church in Miyadin according to records. However Tadem and Sursuri are both very famous villages. Many of their descendants came to the United States. One of Tadem's descendants is the poet Diana Der-Hovhannesian.

thank you, thats very interesting as i wrote below i always assumed that "husenigin sazere" referred to saz's of husenig, as in the instrument called saz (baglama). in the liner notes to the kef time cd they've translated it as "the music of husenig" which is the same idea....however i dont have a source for that it was just my assumption...thank you for your info

Նազ մի հաներ Հայ աղջիկ, փէշերովդ խօսք մի հաներ Հայ աղջիկ:

I think your grandfather had a classic case of projection. What he witnessed was actually what happened to Armenians. They were the ones put into churches and burned to death and your grandfather was hearing their cries. He probably couldn't reconcile with the fact that his own people were committing the atrocities so he projected it onto the Armenians. On the other hand, that's what my grandmother witnessed in Maras before she was sent on the death march to the Syrian dessert. Armenians were a minority with no political power in the Ottoman Empire. They were eradicated from their ancestral lands through systematic massacres, deportations and atrocities. That's how they ended up as refugees all over the world including Syria. My family was among them. In contrast your grandfather had the opportunity to live and thrive in his own country. If Armenians were the ones in power and the ones who committed the atrocities, then they would be the ones ruling Turkey now. But I know facts and logic probably wouldn't do anything to change your mind.
