Watercolor Scenery with One Colour: Indigo Woods

- Hi guys I wanted to do a simple scenery with 1 colour today. I chose Indigo by Schmincke to be my colour of choice, but you can also pick other dark colours that you have so you can have a wide range in values. I decided n this subject because the elements are quite repetitive, but this is also doable for other paintings as well if you just want to practice painting values. Hope you guys enjoy! This is a great exercise and interesting approach! Most tend to go from light to dark values, but here you go from both ends of the value spectrum towards the middle. Going to try this as soon as I finished my hot chocolate that I’m enjoying while watching this video.

Using the Indigo color suggests an emotional depth which draws in my eye. A lovely painting process - my cat was watching too! It looks like it takes a lot of patience to do.

Interesting with those one color paintings, but I would try too. I really love Payne’s grey so that’ll be my choice.
