If it makes you feel better, I've watched at least half a dozen reacters go into full-blown tears...even strugglenation couldn't hold it back. In D&D, when you're high enough level, death is an inconvenience; they didn't want it to be like that in the show -- they wanted it to be impactful...and they succeeded.
