Mình cũng giống Chris ở chỗ ko thích ăn món Tây vì nó chỉ có mỗi thịt khá ngấy. Nhưng mà món Tây kết hợp với các loại rau thảo mộc của VN và các loại gia vị tự nhiên của VN thì rất ngon. Phần lớn các loại rau sống ăn kèm trong món ăn VN đều là thảo mộc chữa bệnh nên khi cảm thấy ko khoẻ lắm chỉ cần ăn 1 tô bún hoặc phở nước là sẽ cảm thấy dễ chịu hơn nhiều.

You were told it is called a Perilla (SP) Leaf? I believe it's native to Korea. I LOVE SISO. Seed packets can be purchased to grow in a garden, however they are expensive. I'd love to try the beef, rare. If the meat is good, it's best rare. I usually get medium rare, but if it's really good, rare is best. I think your noodle dish consisted of just ONE noodle. 😁. It was one super long noodle in the dish with the bonito flakes. This was a great place and a great episode. You both looked happy, the meal was a success and I don't think I've ever seen Max smile so much! 👍🌹🌸!
Perilla and Siso are the same plant. The hole in the middle is to grill meat if you order food for bbq. They will bring some hot charcoal over in a bucket and a grill plate. In this case they didn't order any fresh meat for bbq therefore the staff covered the holes. Edit: Later in the video you will see a grill with veggies over the hole. There are two varieties of perilla: purple and green. The green is often eaten in Japanese and I believe Korean foods, whereas the purple is often seen in Vietnamese food...although Vietnamese eat all herbs like there's no tomorrow.

I did google and see this, "There is only one species in the genus, but three are varieties. There are two major forms of cultivated Perilla, green and red though green is the most common escapee I have seen. Those common names are slightly misleading. The “Green” version is green on top of the leaf, and purple below. The “red” version has leaves that are purplish on top and bottom."
I am a bit of a beef purist I suppose, but I believe wagyu is more than sufficient by itself with just salt. Sauce and gold only detract from such a luxurious cut of beef.

But coming from a country with a high tipping culture, when people find out that you're from the US, do you find tipping is expected from workers (e.g. hotel porters escorting you to your room, hair stylists, food service workers going above and beyond expectations)?
