Very nice but for the record, you dont need to go out and spend 15k on an old rusted 4runner (it happens..lol), you can just hold the brakes while giving gas (for those automatics, its easier) or buy a very capable Xterra for 1/4 of a 4runner price. Awesome vid, good to see the Xterra in action! SUBBED!
Right. I picked up an 05’ X with 196k. No rust should I add for $3,600! Good luck getting a 4Runner that’s not rusted out or trapped out by then for that price. The X now has 208k so far so good.
Great Video Man. I have a 2012 Xterra Model X No Rear Locker . I was Thinking of Installing A Rear Locker but can be Pricey.. Do you Recommend That Rear Locker is Needed?? Please Advise...
Honestly I really learned easily how to activate it because I had squealing brakes on a trail, and when it activated you could hear the intermittent noise of the brake activating when I was only on the gas. Once it did it once I kept practicing at other spots until I figured out the sweet spot of RPM when it kicks in. There are no lights or anything - you’ll just know when a spinning wheel suddenly stops and the other wheel starts to go.
@@XYoverland i think i was able to get i to engage this past weekend but got to a point where i was just slipping. I think too much throttle. Does it matter what settings you are in? I read abls is always on even in 4lo with vdc off as well
@@dimey3572 it definitely works in 4lo. I’ve also read that it will turn back off once RPMs fluctuate beyond a certain point. Basically have to keep it slow and steady and in my case it’s done the job
I didn't realize that Nissan had a traction control system like that, similar to Toyota's. Very cool!

is there a way i can tell if abls has kicked in? also is it always on? or do i have to be in a certain setting?

@@XYoverland so the braking wheel pulses?
@@dimey3572 it does. If you’re familiar with ABS coming on and it’s like a machine gun tempo, it’s like a slow motion version of that
