- The beauty of being a professional mountain biker is being able to do all sorts of different sports and call it "cross training" haha. Our cross training sport of choice this week was motorcycle trials and what better person to teach us the ropes and some techniques than Rob Warner. Rob is not only a World Cup winner but a national level moto trials rider. So fun to ride with him. I think he was being very nice to myself and Bernard Kerr. We sucked. haha
Honestly a lot of the same techniques are used in mountain biking and trials so myself and Bernard both picked it up pretty quick. Hook woods is the perfect location to perfect your skills. I had such amazing time there with the boys.
With all the MTB bike parks so busy now they are back open from lockdown its an awesome opportunity to get out here and learn some new skills in the woods.
Bernard is doing great considering he's new to it and operating on just pure competetiveness and bravery
He needs to get some boots tho.💨💨💥🤕
@@herodrivermusicchannel4571 Yes exactly most important kit i got besides a good lid for riding a KX450f were the best boots i could afford.
I cringe when i think back to riding older bikes in skate shoes or 5tens.
@@kmc7355 he is a pretty damn good moto rider so he has boots, I assume trials boots are softer/more flexible?
@@hobmargThey don't look massively different but i think trials boots are both softer and flexier as you say, also have a flatter, grippier replacable sole.
I see Sam Pilgrim just got a decent trials too, he's another natural.
Rob Warner is an absolute prince. Superb video; just so, so funny. Props for the trials skills, too, that was top riding in all that slop.

Brendan, you need to let more air out of your rear tyre in conditions like that, probably about 3-4psi in the rear and 4-5psi in the front. Rob's tyre was flattening out more (I know he's heavier lol). Either drop your tyre pressure or eat more pies lol... I used to compete in trials in Wales so we know about riding in muddy conditions as you can imagine..
