As a drummer I remember thinking the song was simple for by band mates to learn. This cover shows how beautifully it can be/is arranged on the piano though. Very nicely done.

I can honestly say that I had never heard this song (or quite a few of the others), and now I wouldn't want to - simply couldn't compare to this. A week ago I was unaware of Gamazda, but now I can't stop listening to these beautiful, masterful interpretations.
You should really listen to this song though. It's really beautiful in its own right. I mean the original version of course. Actually a lot of her songs are really beautiful in their original version. And that's part of why what she's doing here so special. She's bringing out a different side to the music
System of a Downs main vocalist is a pretty damn good singer, much of what comes through with this cover that sounds good is due to his vocals.
@@torchlord11 I did eventually listen to the original and I will certainly grant you that the guy can sing very well, which is not something I think about many vocalists. The vocal melody is very good, but the magic in these Gamazdafications lies in how she decorates the melodies - not just the instrument on which she plays them. I am in awe of her ability to put the eyebrows on these melodies - always just right. I do not question the source of the contour of this cover, but Sasha's ornamentation elevates it in a manner that bankrupts my vocabulary. To me, she is a musical alchemist (which is not intended to suggest that I think the original song is crap, although it doesn't align with my personal tastes - not a value judgment).
@@kevincrowley6975 That is fine, at least you gave the original song a try and now you at least can karaoke the lyrics to Gazmada's version, which I would think should enhance it.
This version is really boring and uninspired compared to the original.
