- You wont believe what this selfish owner says to Gordon Ramsay...
Gordon Ramsay visits Meson de Mesilla, a “luxury” Tuscan-style hotel in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Owner and child-star, Cali Szczawinski, purchased the hotel to perform Cher songs every night to a captive audience.
Too busy trying to hit the high notes on stage (the hotel has three of them), Cali has failed to notice that she’s falling flat when it comes to what her hotel guests need.
The bedrooms are empty, the hotel’s restaurant is failing, and Gordon witnesses a shocking exit that no one saw coming. Can Gordon “turn back time”? Or is this boutique hotel, and its singing owner, beyond his help?

The fact that David subconsciously removed his glove for a replacement AFTER a handshake with Gordon at his food truck shows exactly how clean & well manner he is.
Damn didn’t even realize that! That’s awesome tho, there are a lot and I mean A LOT of cooks that forget to do this and this “prep cook” does it automatically while being efficient and friendly!

I don't think so... He is a great guy and even more important a competent and passionate cook. He just needs to be given some freedom to do it his way. His truck is the prove that he knows what tastes good! He needs a big kitchen so he can improve himself even more and by becoming the breakfast chef he is doing right that.

I‘d love to have her explain why she called it the „Meson de Mesilla“… Does she even know what Meson means? If she referred to the english word „meson“, the nme Meson de Mesilla doesn‘t make any sense! If she meant to call it house of mesilla but fancy translated into french she should have used google translate lol. Meson (or more like méson) is the french translation of the english word meson and means the exact same thing (some scientific physics stuff) but house translated into french would be „maison“… big nono if the name‘s already obviously misspelled…

Love the characteristics of David he's full of positivity even though he's working on hell hole. And how he immediately removed he's gloves after he handshake Gordon and serve drinks, you can tell he loves what he doing and he's doing it right.
I also find him to be attractive and adorable!! His gf is a lucky girl!!!

this episode is good just for seeing him having that food truck... so 'simple' and yet looked so dam tasty...
i wonder what happened with him in the ..decade ? after this hmm... hoppe he kept that infectious positive mental attitude , while at the same not dodging the reality of things...because thats some rad constructive way to handle a lot of things in life.

If anyone is wondering, the hotel is still open but under completely new management. Cali hates Ramsey and had some negative stuff to say in an interview. The new owners changed the name and don’t like being associated with the show. No updates about David or the others are available
This is sad...cali was given the best opportunity she could get...if she didn't take it no wonder the hotel didn't make it.

Meson de mesilla was sold and renamed. The restaurant has great reviews. The hotel on the other hand has mixed reviews mostly tending towards the negative where the greatest complaint is that the hotel guest seem an afterthought while the owners focus on running a great and succesfull restaurant!

Wow. At first I thought Cali was a dominant, tunnel-visioned boss with no hope of change. But she turned out to actually understand major problems. She made me emotional. I see her true passion is singing, but deep inside she knows she's not entertaining anyone. As for her taste for something out of New Mexico, I get that too. If you're in a city where you have no options than to eat something traditional/local, it's easy to think a bit of difference will be embraced. Yet, you have to know how to do it.

Well, thing is: If I go to a hotel, I want it to serve the local cuisine. Some Italian food is nice, but only as a secondary option on the menu. 🤷♂️
But she's not a chef or a hotel manager, and she didn't know how to tied up her hotel deco with the food. The concept of Tuscany food could only works if she do proper research on the deco and plates up authentic Italian food.

Cali seems like a lovely lady. Lost in a different time and set in her ways, but not purposefully harming anyone. Screw the couple she fired halfway through the episode though. They were clearly deluded into thinking they could wait out a hostile takeover. Shameful. A bit of a delusional episode all around but we're all glad Gordon restored some sanity into the business. And David was the real MVP.

This is the one episode Gordon didn't berate the owner and her business too sternly. That should say something to Cali's heart being in the right place and the overall state of her establishment. This is my favorite episode so far.
