I actually liked season 4 in the end. I just think Frenchies storyline is terrible. Everything else is fine or actually really good. Homelander is still amazing, and the highlight of the show
Frenchie’s storyline definitely felt the most contrived to me. It also moved quite slowly which left me thinking about it rather than feeling into it. So I’d agree with you there! ~Reuben
Thanks! This episode was recorded before November but I was almost certain they were going ahead with the show. Maybe a Q3/4 2025 release then? ~Reuben
The show went from a cool balanced social/political commentary to straight up propaganda forcing a perspective onto the viewers. The moment they mystified the human/child trafficking issue and demonized and slaughtered the characters that were trying to expose it, I’d seen all I needed to see to come to this conclusion- although the proof is everywhere.
I’d be curious to hear more about your perspective. I certainly think the show has never been coy about its anti-Capitalist, anti-authoritarian position. But it sounds like you’re referring to something else, in Kimiko’s storyline? ~Reuben
@ I mean to get my full perspective I’d be typing way too much into a comment. Each issue (both narrative and political) is way too complicated to address concisely. But yes Kimiko’s history which we as an audience know is legitimate in the context of the show is juxtaposed with the human/child trafficking that is happening in real life- except in the show they treat it as if it’s a fairytale that the extremists following Homelander believe in- even Firecracker says that she made it all up to rile people up. This is a very clear parallel to the very real horrors being committed that were largely exposed after Jeffrey Epstein’s death, even down to how the media has tried to associate anyone who spreads awareness about it with Trump supporting extremists in an effort to get the unaware to be skeptical of what they’d rather call “conspiracy theories” about the trafficking rings. I already feel like I’m talking in circles especially if you have no real awareness of these events and the lengths the powerful will go to control our perspectives.
Why am I seeing a commentary about season 4 from two blokes who haven't seen all of it in 2025
They just wanted attention
We recorded this episode in July 2024 :)
We’re just getting around to uploading our stuff to RUclips. Thanks for checking us out.

@StinishedIt My bad bro hahaha, still enjoyed it
Glad to hear it! We’ll definitely be covering the final season when it comes out.
