Just installed my 2019 charging module with Phil’s harness adapter. Less than 5 minutes, talk about plug and play ! Now I can wirelessly charge my iPhone X ! Thanks Phil!!

Big shout out to Phil, I ordered these parts from him Friday, received them today. Took all of 8 mins TOTAL for complete removal/install and now it wirelessly charges my iPhone X perfectly. I have a 2017 2500 Chevy Duramax, again worked perfect.
Phil, thanks for an insightful video and thanks 2X for making that adapter harness. Installation was super easy and the new module works fantastic! So much, that it charges an iPhone 8 Plus.!!! I am definitely a fan!
That you so much! Received you pig tail after I got the new charger and it now works! I have iPhone 8 Plus so it doesn’t fit perfectly in the cradle but it now charges. Thank you again for the help and video!!
This was great... I purchased that harness adapter and still have it... Anyone want it for $10... Because you do not need it... Clipped the outer two ridges off the existing plug with some wire cutters and boom... works. Easiest upgrade ever... aside from pulling the top and bottom plastic pieces apart... Holy crap...I thought for sure I was going to break it.

Phil, thanks for splice-in pigtail as mine works great. Also, there is a new part # for the 2018 mat though it is not fully "built" into the system so it can't be ordered yet is what my parts guy has informed me of. Keep up the good work with all your harnesses and retrofitting.
Thanks for the feedback! Would love to know what the new 2018 mat part # is. While my mat works fine, it would be nice to have the newest version. Thanks for info!
Phil Gamboa, once I find out I'll let you know if you don't get it before me. My parts guy said until it's fully built, they may supersede it so he's just waiting for sure.
Hey Phil, I have a 2015 Sierra 2500HD Denali that didn't come with wireless charging. I would like to add it, I'm guessing I would need an entire new console lid with the charger and then a harness. Do you make a harness to add wireless charging to 2014-2015 trucks that came with a full center console but without wireless charging? Thanks!
removing the magnet and removing the little pad stuck to the lid will allow the older charger to charge the new phones i did this to mine works great the issue with the old model is that the newer phones have a object interference fail safe so the magnet being there causes it to not charge newer phones so instead of buying a new model just take your apart and remove the little magnet in the center and the little square pad stuck to the lid and completely unhook it and bam your old charger will charge the newest phones
I have a gmc 2017 Sierra and it never had a wireless charger in the arm rest. Any ideas how I could make this work? Or what kit I would have to buy? I want to purchase the 2018 module but what wires would I need
I've been researching around on the internet for an answer to this: the phone charging indicator icon on my entertainment display stays lit all of the time, even without a phone anywhere in the truck. Any ideas?
I want to install the original system on my camaro 2LT but my cr do not have the original wire hardness. What are the wire color codes. I have a black, green and purple...
I'm trying to find the part number for the replacement rubber mat that goes on the top of the armrest to allow for longer phones. Anyone know exactly what I need to search for or its part number? And does it also allow for a slight bit more phone width to fit?
Update: looks like the part number is 23264395, but keep in mind GM never updated the part number for the 9 rib vs longer 10 rib version, so make sure you ask your seller which one it is. I'd still like to know if the 10 rib upgraded mat allows for wider phones than the 9 rib version if anyone knows. Thanks.
Not really. I've seen some on eBay, but you want to ensure you get a 2018 lid that already has wireless charging, as those should be the latest 2nd gen module.
Great video. I have the early model 2015 without this feature. The factory pigtail is there so I sourced a unit and installed it. No luck. I checked the pins in the factory plug and have no voltage. Does my truck need to be programmed to make this work? Is there a dedicated fuse for this? Thanks for your help in advance.
Hi Phil, I have 2014 Silverado that doesn't have nothing to connect the charging module to, how can I go about sending power to the module.i'm using a 2016 module out of a GMC sierra
What if my 2015 GMC 3500 Denali doesn’t have this & i want to add it. Is that charging module simply 12volt ? Or does it have to hook into the system if you want 100% OEM ??
Phil, did you upgrade your backup camera? My 2018's clarity isn't so great, I've cleaned the lens. It's been this way since new. Are you aware of a better quality camera? Or any type of upgrade for it? A stick on lens like they use on phones? It seems the monitor has many/enough pixels, as it is crystal clear when not in camera mode. I'm thinking it's the camera quality itself. I wonder if the Denalis or Escalade one are higher quality?
There is no info on what it does. Some remove that ribbon cable and/or the magnet. Neither option worked for me. Getting the 2018 Module is the best bet.
93gmctruck1 I have designed a harness for this that makes it Plug and Play. $45 for the harness. Email me at gamboaphil@gmail.com for more info. I can send you pics as well.
Is there any reason to think this process wouldn't work for a 2015 Cadillac Escalade? The lid and charger are tapered a bit differently than the other GM models. Thank you!
Phil, reading through the comments below you had not tested rapid charging at the time. Have you had a chance to test it since then and does it work now (7/2019)? I'd like to do the upgrade but my issue is with the power requirements to charge my Samsung S9. Even the USB ports don't supply enough power to charge the phone.
Phil will new charger upgrade charge with the case on your phone? I upgraded my 2016 Tahoe to the new Module, and I am having issues just charging without the case. I think the unit they shipped if faulty as it won't charge even without the case. I have tried moving my phone around but still no dice.
Depends. Some thicker cases wont allow the charging to occur, but these 1st gen modules are terrible and not sure why GM released it. The new 2nd gen module charges most phones of today.
Hi Phil. Like your page. on gm parts direct it says the '18 charger isnt compatable with my '17 silverado 2500HD. Can you help me out ? also i have the jump seat and want to swap it out. do you have the P/N's for the console assy ? thanks, keep up the awesome videos.
I have a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 that didn’t come with a wireless charging pad... is there a way to install one when it didn’t come with it from the factory?
I installed the upgrade Module and Pigtail on my 2016 Chevy Suburban and my iPhone X is now charging but the charging Icon on the infotainment system’s display screen does not show up...any thoughts anyone?
Great information, thanks. Will the newer charging module, 3 coils, be better at charging a S7 with a case cover? Thanks. Now if i could only figure out how to get rid of the chimes.
The updated module is 2018. Did you console already have wireless charging? If so, I have an adapter harness for it. If you didn't have wireless charing and you added it, I have a different harness for that. Email me at gamboaphil@gmail.com for more info.
Couple questions. How would this affect the warranty? If something arises after changing this part out, would just that part become not covered, or would it void the entire warranty on other issues as well. Also they like to scare you at the dealership trying to get you to let them do it. They tried telling me you might get electrical alerts that might need reset when changing out any type of electrical components. Any truth to this? Lastly, you said there’s really no need to flip the mat? Your iPhone X charges everytime? Looking at around 99$ for parts and 120$ for install if the dealership did it, and about 60$ if I did it. Just had those other concerns is all. Thanks
The link in the description has the thread where I posted ordering instructions. You can also send me an email - gamboaphil@gmail.com to order a harness.
I have been looking and am planning on buying two of these pigtails for my 17’ Sierra and my 16’ Denali. But, where is the best place to buy a modular that will work? Thank you in advance.
Thank you. It works 100%. Now I don’t have to trade in my 2016 for a 2018 Tahoe. My question now is do you make a plug and play harness for led daytime running lamps?
Not sure yet. But I have a few apps that will test the charging output of wireless chargers. If I had to guess, I would say this doesn't support fast charging...as it seems that there are not many out there that do.
Yeah. I downloaded an app called Amperes. It tells me how long it takes to charge 1% lol. At least I can compare different wireless chargers with it. Tried an Anker Wireless Charger against a Belkin "Boost UP" model. Anker sucked. LOL. My wireless lid charged faster than Anker.
Phil. Do you know if the Suburban Lt model already has the wiring installed even though it doesn't have the charging module. I am thinking of ordering the module and installing, but I'm not sure I would run into if the wiring isn't there, or if I need to find a connector
Phil, I have an early 2015 Suburban and want to convert my console lid to be able to charge my iPhone X wirelessly. What parts do I need to make this happen? Thank you sir.
Hi Phil, will the 2018 module work on a 2014 Cadillac Escalade? I. Want to be able to charge my iPhone XS Max? If so where can I purchase the 2018 wireless module?
Yes they will work on escalade. They will work with any GM vehicle that has the 1st gen wireless charging module. As for your iPhone XS Max, I have one as well. On the truck platform, the lid doesn't allow the phone to sit flat, but it will charge. For escalades, the lid has a wider mat area and the phone sits flat. I stock the module and adapter harness for $115 shipped. Email at gamboaphil@gmail.com to purchase.
If you already have a center console, your best bet might be to get an entire lid with the charging module already installed. You will need to swap the module out with a 2018 module UNLESS you can find a 2018 lid with the new module already in it. You will then need to swap out the center console harness you have a connector plug to plug the new lid into. If you are a a DIY'er, you might be able to splice the new lid into an existing ACC Voltage circuit...same circuit as the Cigarette Lighter plugs are connected to.
Hello phill I have a 2015 Denali Duramax pick up with out the charging feature. If I order the module from Gm and the harness from you can I install it in my truck? Does gm rough it in?
Marco Urzi - If you don’t have the charging now, there be some additional things to look for. Email me at gamboaphil@gmail.com for more info. I build harnesses for this conversion, but you’ll need to check some others things too.
Great video, but the problem I have with my 2016 is my phone (Galaxy S6 edge+) is too wide to fit the charging tray and won't sit flush. I'm not sure the 3 coil charger will make any difference there. I will be getting a new phone soon and was going to go with something narrower so I can charge it. Can that trim ring be modified to fit a wider phone? Any insight you have is appreciated.
Phil Gamboa-Maybe a combination of the 3 coil charger and a slight modification to the bezel would allow it to work. I like a bigger phone because my hands are bigger than your average bear. I may have to explore some different options now that I have an idea of where to go.
I agree. I used to use an iPhone 7+ and like the larger size phone. I went to the iPhone X which is slightly smaller than the iPhone Plus size. The iPhone Plus' width doesn't fit, while the iPhone X does. I would imagine a wider custom ring and the updated triple coil module will do the job.
Phil Gamboa - How much are you selling the pigtail harness for? I got a new phone and it does fit in my charging tray, but won't charge. I verified it does however charge on a 2018 truck so if I buy the new charger I'll need your pigtail harness to make it work. Shoot me a message when you get a chance. Thanks.
Thank you Phil, I will look into buying one. Oh also...will I need a new connector (pigtail harness) that is in your video? If so how can I buy one from you?
If you already have wireless charging, but have the older module - Then yes, this will fit. You'll need my adapter cable to be able to plug it into your harness. The module itself is about $100. My adapter harness is $25.
My 2014 Sierra didn't come with wireless charging at all. Is it possible to add a wireless charging console lid that has the 2018 module? I basically need to go from no wireless charging to the latest. Is that possible and where can I find all of the materials? I really appreciate your help. Thanks!
Apparently, GM failed to notice that people put protective covers on their $1000 phones. They wont fit on the charger with the cover on. Anyone seen a clean modification of the charging tray or a larger aftermarket tray?
Thanks Shane. Haven't been able to find a good way to measure yet. Just being able to get it to charge properly on my iPhone X was a milestone in itself.
Hi Phil....Great Videos....I would like to add the wireless charging to my 2019 Silverado RST that is not currantly equiped. Will the 2018 GM wireless charging module work? Where does the power come from? If 12VDC is what is required can power be linked to the 12VDC receptical inside the console? Thanks foryour help.
Delmer Archer - Part # is 13521066. You can purchase from any GM online site. They are on National Backorder when I made the video. Cost was about $95, $115 Shipped or so.
The link is in the description. But here it is as well. It is on backorder right now. Materials are supposed to be shipped on 10/3. It has been on back order until June, then got pushed to July, then August/September, and now into October...unfortunately. www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/209096-2014-2018-silveradosierra-wireless-charging-module-plug-and-play-harness/
Phil Gamboa my truck is a 2015.5 2500 high country, i found a wireless lid a got it in the mail today. All i have to do is ground the negative and connect the hot wire to some like my cigarette lighter for it to power up right?
Urban Mechanic - you might be able to. I doubt there will be provisions to physically mount the module and/or what the behavior would be with the jump seat rubber mat.
Very informative video. However you missed the key point on why it won't charge newer phones. New phones use Qi charging protocol, and the old module does not support that.
@@philgamboa2906 thank you for the reply. That is great to know. Hopefully the phone doesn’t have to be fully on the mat to charge since they are wider than previous phones

Scott Arcellano - Scott, I am hoping we’ve touched base by now. If not, my apologies. Let me know.
Thank you. It works 100%. Now I don’t have to trade in my 2016 for a 2018 Tahoe. My question now is do you make a plug and play harness for led daytime running lamps?
Any idea if they new module does wireless fast charge for Samsung phones? If not I'll stick to my diy solution.
Not sure yet. But I have a few apps that will test the charging output of wireless chargers. If I had to guess, I would say this doesn't support fast charging...as it seems that there are not many out there that do.
Phil Gamboa unless testing with a device capable of achieving it, I doubt it will give the output.
Most likely not. In many things GM, I found this to be the case.
Phil, I have an early 2015 Suburban and want to convert my console lid to be able to charge my iPhone X wirelessly. What parts do I need to make this happen? Thank you sir.
Yes sir. Please email me at Sales@HarnessDR.com In your email, please include a pic of your current lid. Thanks!
Anyone know that voltage these units require? Thinking about adapting a salvage unit for another, non-automotive project that will be solar charged.
Bill Moore - 12V
Probably should also have asked by amperage and watt hours draw. Thanks!
What would I need to put that in a 2014 Sierra Denali. They never offered that in 2014 so I'm starting from scratch. Thank you.
Donde puedo conseguir este arnés para el cambio de módulos del 2017 a 2018 ? Where can I get this harness for the module change from 2017 to 2018?
Hello phill I have a 2015 Denali Duramax pick up with out the charging feature. If I order the module from Gm and the harness from you can I install it in my truck? Does gm rough it in?
Marco Urzi - If you don’t have the charging now, there be some additional things to look for. Email me at gamboaphil@gmail.com for more info. I build harnesses for this conversion, but you’ll need to check some others things too.
Any update on the harness? I ordered like a week ago. No response yet.
hi is the module 1352 1065 the same as the one you show in the video ?
Not sure. First time I've heard this part # and shows to be from other GM vehicles. Not sure if its a direct fit or not.
Hi, Does this change applies to yukon SLT 2016?
Great video, but the problem I have with my 2016 is my phone (Galaxy S6 edge+) is too wide to fit the charging tray and won't sit flush. I'm not sure the 3 coil charger will make any difference there. I will be getting a new phone soon and was going to go with something narrower so I can charge it. Can that trim ring be modified to fit a wider phone? Any insight you have is appreciated.
Chris Kozel - You’re absolutely right. Wider phones are a challenge. I hope GM could design a wider ring.
Thanks.
Chris Kozel $25 and the link in the description to order.
Thank you Phil, I will look into buying one. Oh also...will I need a new connector (pigtail harness) that is in your video? If so how can I buy one from you?
I can supply both the module and adapter or adapter by itself. Shoot me an email at gamboaphil@gmail.com
Hey Phil great video but how do I buy the harness?
Rick Pyles - Send me an e-mail at sales@HarnessDR.com
Phil are the harnesses available at the time. Let me know I would like to upgrade my wireless charger
I just want to verify, will the 2018 module work on a 2014 GMC Sierra? I’d like to add this to my truck. If so, how much is the module? Thanks!!
Thanks!
Phil, I have a 2015 Suburban LT WITHOUT charging, what can I do to retrofit it for an Android phone?
Great video!
thebronzetoo - You’ll need a lid that can accommodate a module, new module and my retrofit harness
Email me at gamboaphil@gmail.com for more info.
@@philgamboa2906 Thanks!
Apparently, GM failed to notice that people put protective covers on their $1000 phones. They wont fit on the charger with the cover on. Anyone seen a clean modification of the charging tray or a larger aftermarket tray?
Why hasn’t this been a recall for these equipped vehicles covered under warranty ?
Because what GM released works...But the technology advanced. That's why it works for 2018 trucks.
Phil, Great job as always. What is the difference in charging speed from the 2017 1 Coil versus 2018 3 Coil?
Thanks Shane. Haven't been able to find a good way to measure yet. Just being able to get it to charge properly on my iPhone X was a milestone in itself.
Hi Phil....Great Videos....I would like to add the wireless charging to my 2019 Silverado RST that is not currantly equiped. Will the 2018 GM wireless charging module work? Where does the power come from? If 12VDC is what is required can power be linked to the 12VDC receptical inside the console? Thanks foryour help.
Al Smith I have the same question for a 2019 Tahoe.
You Rock! The install worked just as you showed, and it was super easy!
Thank You
Ok Phil. Thanks for the info. I'll probably buy a lid and switch out module. How much for the new module and where could I purchase one.
Delmer Archer - Part # is 13521066. You can purchase from any GM online site. They are on National Backorder when I made the video. Cost was about $95, $115 Shipped or so.
Hey where can i get the 2018 module and pigtail? And how much?
The link is in the description. But here it is as well. It is on backorder right now. Materials are supposed to be shipped on 10/3. It has been on back order until June, then got pushed to July, then August/September, and now into October...unfortunately. www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/209096-2014-2018-silveradosierra-wireless-charging-module-plug-and-play-harness/
Ok thanks how much for the module?
I ordered from GMPartsDirect.com 10 days ago. Part No. 84526978 $61.00 plus $17 shipping. Took a week to get, included the adapter plug. Works great!
chucklee9999 thanks
Phil Gamboa my truck is a 2015.5 2500 high country, i found a wireless lid a got it in the mail today. All i have to do is ground the negative and connect the hot wire to some like my cigarette lighter for it to power up right?
I need to buy one of your plug and play harness , I already ordered the new module , when and were I can order !?
pablo rico Link is in the description.

Hey, great video, should prove very useful! Are you still selling the pigtail adapter? And where can I buy the new 2018 module? Thanks again?
Seventh Studio - Yes. I actually stock both. Email me at gamboaphil@gmail.com.
Will the new charger work on iPhone 12 and up?
It should yes.
What about galaxy s20? Seems wider than my mat.
Do you think this could be added to a bench seat console lid
Urban Mechanic - you might be able to. I doubt there will be provisions to physically mount the module and/or what the behavior would be with the jump seat rubber mat.
Very informative video. However you missed the key point on why it won't charge newer phones. New phones use Qi charging protocol, and the old module does not support that.
That's correct. At the end of the video, I show the updated module that does charge and support Qi charging.
Does this work for the newer iPhones? Like the 11 Pro/Pro Max and newer?
Yes.
@@philgamboa2906 thank you for the reply. That is great to know. Hopefully the phone doesn’t have to be fully on the mat to charge since they are wider than previous phones
@@25misfits I have had the larger phones sitting at an angle and it charges.
@@philgamboa2906 thank you for the update
@@25misfits Sure thing!
Hey phil, any advice on trying to install a wireless charger on a 2018 silverado 1500 single cab w/t center jumper seat lid?
I have the same question☝🏼
I have a single cab Silverado and I'm looking for some type of kit to install on my jump seat lid for wireless charging
Will a 2018 module fit in a 2016 center console?
Yep
