We are a typical American family (3 school age kids, cats, house in suburbs). Recently bought a 2022 Enclave and we love it! We purchased the Enclave 2nd to the cargo space behind the 3rd row (most 3 row SUV's have little to no space behind the 3rd row). So much room, drives extremely well, and the engine is very powerful. The ride is exceptionally smooth. Gas miles per gallon is fine, and it doesn't require premium fuel. The buying experience was stress free and really a pleasure. I sold buicks for a short time. G.M. really doesn't try to promote it much as a brand in the u.s. Buick is huge in China, where its considered an luxury brand. I got my wife a new enclave last year and we couldn’t be happier. Anyone and everyone that has seen it in person loves it. It’s simple and just beautiful love leaving the house and just staring at it. We considered a telluride yet every time I see our enclave I’m glad we got it instead. Plus it’s so much bigger and more comfortable. Craziest part is the payload capacity on it. Almost 1800 pounds. Also they don’t have log lights those were the turn signals.
Good call on the fog lights...they are not availalbe on the Enclave. I thought that as soon as he pointed to the turn signals and called them fog lights.
I bought a Buick Avenir addition and love it. Quiet, powerful, easy to drive, great in snow and ice. Youthful styling, and plenty of cargo room. Far superior in handling than the Korean options, I know this for fact, because I drove them all when making a purchase for a new SUV.
We test drove this today, really impressive. In the last two weeks, we test-drove the RAV4 Hybrid, Sant Fe and Forrestor. This one had the best of all of them. The resale might not be where some of those others are at, but the price point is exactly where those others are at.
The enclave truly is luxurious, but its size is what sets it apart from its competitors. The Enclave has a usable 3rd row and plenty of cargo space! The last car my mom ever bought was a '96 Buick Roadmaster. It was the last true American sedan and the last "road yacht" I ever saw. And it was gorgeous, with it's very beautiful, sleek design with curvaceous features and that seafoam-green color, right out of the pictures of the waters of the Bahamas and Caribbean and the chrome shining like freshly mined and polished silver in sunlight. The bench seats were,of course, long enough to stretch out in,and the ride was smooth and comfortable. Overall, the Roadmaster was very cool, regardless of what my peers may have thought. 😎 👌 Although the relationship with my mother has never been easy and has become more....complicated....with the passing of time,I retain such fond memories of the Roadmaster that,if I were to have a Buick,it would be a Regal GS or even the last-gen 😢 💔 LaCrosse. The aerodynamic bricks that are modern crossovers and SUV's have, with few exceptions, little appeal for me.
I'm 34 and I love buick. My family always had Buicks growing up. My inaws have this suv but a 2019 mid trim and it's been solid. Unfortunately they had first year model so alot of re calls etc but it is a lease. The 2021 looks excellent and I believe more reliable. If buick introduces some of the ideas from the envision into the Enclave it could be game changing.
I went on Vacation to Hawaii and Enclave was the rental place gave me ... i requested an SUV - I didnt specify brand, I really liked it, smooth to drive, quiet and even my cousin fell in-love with it. I think my next vehicle will be Buick Enclave!!
for those of us old enough to remember that buick is a brand name that is respected for quality,i bought it because of the size and cargo capabilities.
One of the quietest vehicles in the class. Very classy looking and nice space but I would spring for the more basic trims. The Avenir adds a tad too much cost and it's more aesthetic versus performance related.
Buick is the best of the GM sisters (Acadia being the other), ride quality and quietness are top notch. Price is a tad higher than what you can get for other brands with more performance but the Avenir is still less than top of the line competitors.
No way. I'll take the Telluride or the Palisade over this any day of the week. And it still looks the same comparing to previous generations. Now for older folks, this is the shit to get.
@@matty1053 and only the passenger side second row seat has a handle to pull the seat forward for easy third row access, drivers side second row seat does not. Also only the front windows are automatic, the rears are not.
FWIW, the 2022 Enclave is redesigned and looks great (coming out next May/June). As good as this one looks, the 2022 is streamlined and directed towards a more youthful customer. For 2020/2021 buyers, should be able to negotiate a very good price.
Buick needs to do something that isn't just a shadow of Chevy. They need to take that lovely bof suv platform (short wheelbase only) put the 2.7t with the optional duramax. Give it a unique front seat area and just make it super comfy. They also need to take the ss/camaro platform and make a fullsize comfort focused sedan, as they would be the only ones making those kinds of vehicles for under 100k. 2.0t base engine and 2.7t upgrade option. Just make it the absolutely most comfortable sedan on the market. Big, roomy, plush seats ect. When you look at the demand for used park avenues and lesabres, you know theres a market for those cars new in 2020
You do realize Raiti that you actually don't have to fold the middle row seat forwards in order to get in to the back row seats, there's no seat in the middle of the second row, that space between those seats is a more comfortable access to the back row
There are so many "Murano" clones (one of the first crossovers) these days but it really is a great and practical design. I personally like the Chevy Blazer RS you reviewed quite a bit as well. The price is a bit high on this one, thats got to be worth a full Zonk.
@@golferpro1241 you can watch Subaru Ascent forums to know the problems it has and they are many. CR doesn't recommend the Ascent and they give it 2 out of 5 in reliability.
The storage behind the 3rd row is very large but, and this is a big but, it is not deep enough to hold any spray bottles. The 2022 version, coming out in August 2021 will be deeper to allow the storage of spray bottles. It won't be as wide though. The Palisades and Telluride both have a shitty consealed storage area behind the 3rd row. Almost useless.
Yes! I think the Palisades and Tellurides are waaayyyyy too overrated. When I think of which car is gonna fit stuff from an entire refrigerator or an entire dorm room? Enclave it is! Still not impressed of how Hyundai and Kia dealers still have to put $10k over the MSRP. In addition of garlic kimchi smell on those two.
I've had a Buick it's an 08 it's an enclave and I've had nothing but a nightmare I'm still have it I was not the original owner but there is just been nothing but trouble I mean I've had everything go wrong with it but I've kept it after having it I've suffered through I paid for it but some things I sure as hell hope that nobody ever encounters
Palisade all day long. Also I don't get that sunroof cover gimic either where how you open and close it. At that price it frankly should be power operated. The Traverse is the same way.
Love buicks always have .i dont care about the old man rep. Price is just too steep and for that price i agree w/ u needs a pano sunroof . love the vids keep it going
I test drove a Palasade and wasn't impressed with the interior it's tight even with all the bells and whistles. It looks bigger than what it really is. I then test drove the Enclave and I am sold.
Beautiful exterior and in a way also beautiful interior. But it's really bothers me that so many cars don't offer bright interior, like Hyundai Palisade and Genesis GV80 do.
I hate to say it, but if Buick wants to really shake things up, they need to bring back the Grand National. A "proper" 2 door coupe, not one of their current 4 door Regals. Then add all the magical features that people expect (in black, of course). The Cascada would've been a good starting platform, body & size-wise, but has been discontinued. The GN would need Two tone black/gray interior, NO bright trim and an aggressive exhaust note. Power may be more of a challenge today than during the 80's, as HP is really up there, but they could put it all to the road with AWD. Just a few ideas 🤓
Gotta feel for Buick. This is a beautiful vehicle but that market is so congested with makes and models that everyone would name before Buick I feel it will always be an afterthought.
You would be surprised. "Buick Enclave sales(2019 Q1 & Q2) place the large three-row crossover in first place in its competitive set in terms of overall sales volume, ahead of the Infiniti QX60 in second, Acura MDX in third, Audi Q7 in fourth (see Audi Q7 sales), and Volvo XC90 in fourth..."
I enjoyed your review as usual Joe, on this Buick. My brother in law is interested in a the 2021 model. I sent him your video. He really enjoyed your review, going with him to look at models today. He just might be a new Raiti"s Ride subscriber.
Much as I like the Enclave, I would consider getting one with the Essence trim package. It would still be luxurious, but to a lower standard of luxury than the Avenir. Its a wonder there was no zonk for the sunroof. I would be content without the sunroof.
You know Buicks boring when you turn off the greatest RUclips car reviewers video after 30 sec. Absolutely nothing to do with you Joe. Love your work catch you on the next one. 😁
The buick also had the most quiet cabin. The drivers seat was better in the Palisades Caligraphy though. The Telluride was good but the showroom was lets just say, very poor.
I currently own the Hyundai palisade......sorry the enclave is still the best car I've ever leased! I had the 2010 enclave and then 2014. Had the 2017 highlander and now 2021 palisade. The Enclave was the quietest car (cabin noise) I've ever been in, you can do 80mph and it feels like your doing 30! Palisade however, If I'm going over 60mph I'm screaming with whoever I'm having a conversation with. I was told there's a fix and handed it to a dealer, they returned it to me saying " we found nothing wrong, this is normal" considering what I'm paying per month, I wish I was back on the enclave! Buick also has BETTER customer service! Hyundai came from Wayne Hyundai.in Jersey...customer service there as well as Hyundai themselves are quite awful!
The front grille looks kinda like Mazdas and the overall shape looks closer to minivans than SUVs. Love the interior except for the airvents. They look too large compared to recent trends. The way into the 3rd row seems very large with that tilting 2nd row.
Gonna double zonk you on calling the turn signals fog lights, um no. 1/2 a zonk for dealer for not having the engine cover where the V6 and beyond is chromed. Half a zonk for calling it chocolate brown, it's chestnut. -1/2 a zonk for mentioning massaging seats, but adding it back on because what other crossover in this class has cooled second row. Half a zonk for not mentioning that the tailgate can be set to open full or 3/4 for those of us that park it in a normal sized garage amd need to take the groceries in...but over all great review. I'll keep watchin.
I was going to buy the Buick Enclave Avenir AWD but after driving the 2021 Lincoln Aviator Black Label Grand Touring, The buick can't compete. Whats your thoughts?
Storage in the Buick is better. Also, passengers in the Buick will be more comfortable. But the Lincoln blows away the Buick in terms of styling and driving But the black label Lincoln is almost $90K thats too much for me.
People need to get past this is a old person's car. These Buick's today are very stylish and hands down one of the very best and comfortable vehicles there are. We sent our son off to college in a 2018 LaCrosse 2 years ago. Now I kind of pushed the car on him as I sold it a bit more but.....we test drove around 10 vehicles that he liked and in the end he wanted to go back to the Buick. Then about 2 weeks later he called me up disappointed. He said he was at Sheetz talking to a girl he knows and she asked what kind of car did he get. He told her and she said oh, my grandmother has that car, hahahahaha. He said you talked me into getting a old person's car. I said no you picked the car. I said you have a choice at this price point. I pointed out to you that the LaCrosse is a far more expensive car than those others we test drove, I said you will be traveling pretty far and none of those cars will be as comfortable as that Buick or will they have as much space. I did try to steer him that direction because the car only had 17k miles on it and was under 20k in price, while MSRP on the vehicle was 44k. I said look at your car and tell me if it looks like a old person's, I said that car don't look like they use to back 10 years ago. He said but yeah you are old. I said I'm only 20 years older than you kid, I had just turned 37 and was being called old, lol. Anyways he now loves that car. At the time we got it for him I was driving a 2017 Sonata and said you like my car we can trade when you come home on your first break if you still feel the way you do. Well he never did want to make that trade. I will say this, the wife has a Palisade and I have a Genesis now. We did go look at a Enclave and his LaCrosse is a 2018. Buick is definitely behind in many areas. Yes the car rides fantastic and that great for traveling, but it no way comes close to driving as good as her Palisade or my vehicle, plus the technology inside looks from something you could get in 2014. Her Palisade was quite a few K cheaper than that Enclave and my vehicle was around the same. And whats good in the Enclave is just as good in mine, its more quiet in the cabin than the Palisade but that about it. She immediately chose that Palisade when she took it for a test drive. Buick definitely has to step things up in that cabin and there technology if they want to compete here in the states.
I just never got how no reviewers have anything bad to say about the Enclave, CR gave Buicks top reliability scores. Yet no reviewers or publications want to name Enclave in their top 5 or 10 Suvs !!
Great car! Much nicer interior integration and did a great job with the information screen versus your standard iPad pop-up in the middle of the dash ... Interesting that if you stand back and remove the Buick logo on the grill, it's very much the same shape as a Mazda Grill. As you mentioned it's highly underrated and doesn't get much attention compared to the foreign brands. These things ride amazing though period. And if they're anything like my 2001, they'll go forever with regular maintenance.
I wish when you are showing mid size 3 row suv's that if the car is equipped with auto parking that you would mention it and show how it works. So when the time comes to buy a car we know witch make and model has that feature.
Nice review. Better than the Telluride and Palisade? I don’t thinks so, but it’s very nice, a little bigger and you’re way more likely to get a deal. Also agree it’s Buick’s best right now. Really throws the XT6 into question; the Koreans even more so. That XT6 is a 50k suv for > 70.

Because there's already enough overlap between those 3 as it is... All a Buick version would do is step on the Yukons toes and/or steal Escalade sales.

They will never ever make fold down armrests wide enough to be comfortable and they'll never put the wiper under the rear spoiler. If they do, ill give you full credit. You're my go-to guy for car reviews. Don't change a thing. The way you do it is perfect.👍
I currently drive a 2016 Buick Enclave Avenir. I love ❤️ it. The three row seating is great. Thanks for posting your video.
Although the relationship with my mother has never been easy and has become more....complicated....with the passing of time,I retain such fond memories of the Roadmaster that,if I were to have a Buick,it would be a Regal GS or even the last-gen 😢 💔 LaCrosse.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one.
I went on Vacation to Hawaii and Enclave was the rental place gave me ... i requested an SUV - I didnt specify brand, I really liked it, smooth to drive, quiet and even my cousin fell in-love with it. I think my next vehicle will be Buick Enclave!!
My grandpa would be proud to drive that around sunny FL!
He lives in DEL BOCA VISTA!
Full size suv, 10 inch longer than others. Just bought 2021, love it. much quieter than Telluride and bigger and more luxury
for those of us old enough to remember that buick is a brand name that is respected for quality,i bought it because of the size and cargo capabilities.
I had a test drive yesterday Raiti I must say I was impressed it wasn't something that I thought I would like but my wife and I both loved the SUV.
I am so glad that you liked this one. Are you guys going to pull the trigger.
I’d take the Buick anytime although it’s a old person car.
Mainly need it for the kids and family 👪 trips
Buick is everything!!!!!! I'm in my 30's and I love my car 🚗
agree!

When you look at the demand for used park avenues and lesabres, you know theres a market for those cars new in 2020
I totally agree with you!
You do realize Raiti that you actually don't have to fold the middle row seat forwards in order to get in to the back row seats, there's no seat in the middle of the second row, that space between those seats is a more comfortable access to the back row
Thanks for that info.
BUICK Best Underappreciated Investment Creating Kudos
Nice styling, love the front end....interior very nice also.
There are so many "Murano" clones (one of the first crossovers) these days but it really is a great and practical design. I personally like the Chevy Blazer RS you reviewed quite a bit as well. The price is a bit high on this one, thats got to be worth a full Zonk.

The storage tray behind the 3rd row was much much better in the buick compared to the other 2 cars.
Almost useless.
my dad came home with this, all fun and games until my mom heard the price.

I’d argue this is better than a Lexus RX in this trim

Just bought a 2021 with only 7000 miles on it. Yeah for old people that don’t drive much. Got it for 36,000. Looks and drives brand new
Palisade all day long. Also I don't get that sunroof cover gimic either where how you open and close it. At that price it frankly should be power operated. The Traverse is the same way.

No Hyundai or Kia is considered luxury brand!
I test drove a Palasade and wasn't impressed with the interior it's tight even with all the bells and whistles. It looks bigger than what it really is. I then test drove the Enclave and I am sold.
That's about the best looking Buick I've seen but you really have to pay for it.
Tell me about it!
Get a lease returned unit and you will feel like you stole it.
Beautiful exterior and in a way also beautiful interior. But it's really bothers me that so many cars don't offer bright interior, like Hyundai Palisade and Genesis GV80 do.
Thanks for sharing your inputs about buick enclave i just bought 2021 buick enclave avenir, i love it.
Love the Enclave, Buick’s best product IMO.
AGREED!
I have a 2012 enclave and I love it… would love a 2021 as well 😍

So many mid-sized SUV's to choose from! This one is nice
Much as I like the Enclave, I would consider getting one with the Essence trim package. It would still be luxurious, but to a lower standard of luxury than the Avenir. Its a wonder there was no zonk for the sunroof. I would be content without the sunroof.

When Buick builds another grand national ill be interested.

I was going to buy the Buick Enclave Avenir AWD but after driving the 2021 Lincoln Aviator Black Label Grand Touring, The buick can't compete. Whats your thoughts?
You are spot on the money with that!
That’s what I’m talking about. I seen one today and it was absolutely gorgeous. Now that I will buy, you can have that Minivan Enclave.

From the side looks very heavy like it won’t move
This honestly looks like a 2018/19 Sorento. Shades of a mini-van
I totally agree with you!
Sales volume reflects the answer to your question
First time watching you and the zonk thing is confusing a first then more confusing after I realized it's a kind of rating system for you
If you told someone 20 years ago that a 3 row Buick SUV would go 0-60 in 6.6 seconds, they would think you were out of your mind
I wish when you are showing mid size 3 row suv's that if the car is equipped with auto parking that you would mention it and show how it works. So when the time comes to buy a car we know witch make and model has that feature.
The new 2021 Buick Envision is starting to arrive at dealerships nowadays... looks pretty nice for a two-row CUV!
I totally agree with you!
buick has a long history that the korean brands do not. it is the remaining brand that straddles luxury with mainstream. me,i like a quiet vehicleand smooth, this fits both. i am 70 yrs old and remember when buick was a upper mid class vehicle, following cadillac. i just bought the enclave essence and so far, happy.
