Oh your plants are so beautiful! I would LOVE to have cuttings of any of these! The look of joy on your face when you first unboxed them is thrilling! Think how many people you could make so happy if you chopped and sold your cuttings. Even if you weren't trying to make a killing you could still make it worth your while and make so many people happy. 😊
Yes, would love a vid on how u got ur Hoyas 2 bloom! Don't feel guilty! We all have 2 'edit' our collectiin from time 2 time & if we don't, many times the whole collection will suffer as they fight 4 space, light, water, etc... Ur doing the right thing 4 u & ur collection as a whole. 🤎❣
Sad you have to get rid of them but sometimes it can get mentally exhausting with alot of plants and at least when u give them to someone they get the chance to enjoy a new plant💚🪴 Have A Blessed Weekend Kevin.
Hey nothing wrong with getting rid of things that don’t bring you joy ❤ What helps me is making mixed pots. I find that if I make a mixed pot of my meh plants with one or two cuttings of each makes it interesting, and somehow it’s like I’m spending less “energy” or attention or love or whatever by not giving them each their own pot. And then they’re less work. Idk if that makes sense.
Noooo not the Krohniana Black LOL I have that one (and love it) I was so excited to have at least one of the same Hoyas as you 😂 That being said - Paring down is good for you of they are starting to make you feel bleh. Have a great weekend!
How U get your Hoyas to bloom video??? yes please. And of course, you are not a bad person for downsizing your collection if these are no longer bringing you joy. I think it happens to a lot of people. I am trying to cultivate my collection with only with I truly love and enjoy growing. I don't want to be overwhelmed with them and maybe end up neglecting them. I am fortunate to have a plant room now, an space it still a bit of an issue!! You are a wonderful person, and passing your plants on to people are passionate about plants is a great thing. I have donated some of mine to schools and homes for seniors!! Happy Growing Everyone!
Hoyas love you as much as you love them, they grow so beautifully for you. It’s amazing how much that Hoya hanhiae grew in three years - that must be so rewarding. But I guess its because you give them great care. I hope you get great homes for them.
I understand you wanting to purge some of your plants; they’re extra large & have bloomed, so you’ve accomplished your goal for them. You’ll have more space for the other plants you’re struggling with. Thanks for sharing Kevin!
Yessss how to bloom Hoyas please! So far what I’ve gathered is tons of light, consistent watering and possibly changes in temp? Idkkk please make a video 😊❤
Definitely would like a video on your experiences blooming Hoya. Breaks my heart that you are so sad that you are getting rid of plants 😢however, if it no longer brings you joy, then it is just a stressor that you do not need. So let go….let it go 🎶
Hey honey! I’m in Indiana and I watch you all the time 😢I am feeling your sorrow and am wondering how your space would be if you got rid of your plant shelves and just utilize your walls ( vertical space), and then your ceiling for hanging plants? I do hope that you are able to find a way to keep your plants, I’m not a good plant parent at all, but I’ve seen people who really utilize their walls and floor for moss pole plants and they are absolutely gorgeous! The only other thing I would suggest is utilizing your ceiling for hanging plants and then concentrate your grow lights accordingly! Again I am probably the last person who should be chiming in here, however, I have seen some really beautiful 😻 thriving plants growing in this space!! Good luck my friend and can’t wait to see what you come up with in your space!! Thank you, Ginger
I have a finlaysonii 'big leaf' that looks very similar to yours in stature. My flowers are more on the beige color spectrum with maroon highlights, and it blooms regularly, but they only last about 48-60 hours. They smell nice immediately upon opening; sort of like a mix of lily, cucumber and dirty sock. lol Also, it's normal I think to let go of plants you've had a long time. With hoyas especially, there are so many and it's impossible to have room for them all.
I do the same thing, i plan to give away plants and the i end up taking cuttungs before their gone, so i never end up getting rid of plants when the whole point is to down size my plant choirs, i guess i have a problem and i love it
The smell of the Haniae is one of my favourites ( I feel it smells like lilac or lily of the valley) but I never get more than one peduncle blooming at a time but mine is much smaller and only has 4 pédoncules total
I love to see ur collections of hoyas they are so amazing fabulos u take care of them good very healthy i remember my 1st hoya i bought its from a church sale donated by a college near me ever since im facinated by a hoyas i wish to buy some more cuttings in the future pls.give me some advice if u can thanks
Maybe I’ll do a video in the future! It’s hard I think there’s a a lot of factors that play into it. Light is a big one! And sometimes it’s seasonal I find
I don’t have any of the first three Hoyas but I want them. I look to your Hoyas as ones I want to obtain. Now they won’t be in my mind unless you take cuttings and talk about them.
They looked so healthy, so sad you’re giving them away. But I hope it’s my gain, if you care to send me cuttings😊 ( I’m starting a collection of Hoyas)

I understand you wanting to purge some of your plants; they’re extra large & have bloomed, so you’ve accomplished your goal for them. You’ll have more space for the other plants you’re struggling with. Thanks for sharing Kevin!

If you give these to your mom can you keep an eye on them? Are you close enough to visit often.
