- Man, we got stuck a lot that day! It was epic deep! Here are some tips on how to get unstuck easily.

This dude literally saved me and my buddies lives a few years ago. Rescued us from Libby Flatts in a blizzard. Just wanted to say thank you again. You might remember us... the ones that had the deaf couple that we picked up on the way.
You can also flip the sled on its side, put snow in the hole where the track was and put it back where it was
Appreciate the tips... A Snobunje is handy to have too, if you ride the deep pow. One trick I use to avoid getting stuck is to stick to 2-strokes!!! LOL
liked the tips! I am new and riding an old yammy v max she got stuck today 3 times but sailed over some deep shit today I was suprised! 23 years old and I walked it over six feet of fresh powder likes I was rippin an 800 its only 600 cc its a 1994 v max bloody heavy but still had tons of fun on it. Not my favorite first sled due to the fact it handles like garbage but once you get used to it you can still have a blast!
snow machining in Alaska , we learned all of these the first day , great tips ,we rock the sleds side to side when pulling on the skis
Nice video with good advice. Just to add, have you ever heard of a Stuckmate? It's a little gadget you fix to your throttle/handle with a seperate trigger at the end of a 6 foot cable. When not overly stuck as you said in your video, it makes it so you can pull your own ski while pressing the throttle. Even with a buddy there, you can each pull a ski while simultaneously squeezing the throttle. Pretty nice gadget.

love your videos, especially the music, also like how your unbiased on 2 stroke vs 4 stroke, I ride a turbo viper, rather dig out my sled once in a while than to work on it every week to go ride on the weekends

Not sure if it would work in mountain deep snow, but here in ontario I got a trackjack.ca last year and it’s a game changer. Helps get the sled up and over onto fresh snow.

that's y I ride a Phazer longtrack when I am riding alone, I know I can get it unstuck by myself
Happened to me and my dad took me and him 1 hour to get it out with the help of his girlfriend thank god we brought snowshoes with us to use as a shovel
Hi! i have two rather old beasts of snowmobiles. #1 an old 70 harley and #2 an old 88 skidoo. The harley is down for the count for now but i use my skidoo frequently. It's very different from now-a-days lighter yamaha's and others like that. Are there any tips or special things i should know about the older snow machines?
the Pro rmk's would walk out of quite a few of those situations

@RumfordSledhead always be counter steering and leaning prior to feeling yourself slowing down...maybe you will snap a nice powder turn and prevent yourself from digging a hole
@RumfordSledhead Where do you ride, flat land or the alpine? What size sled do you ride? Are you an aggressive rider or do you stick to the trails. I am 16 so it wasn't too long ago that I was your age. I have found that in the very, very few times that the old man does get stuck, don't hesitate to go to the rescue. Then you have something to hold over him.
@RumfordSledhead don't get stuck! when you're 40 years old you won't want to dig someone out either. if you're about to get stuck try and turn out and ge pointed back downhill.

Most of the time you can get unstuck with a ski pull and rocking the sled back and worth while applying a lot of throttle can sometimes launch you right out of a stuck. Just put the track back on the snow and your free

grain shovel break at the scoop we have had to weld so many! just from grain and who wants to carry around a grain shovel
get a yamaha bravo 250, she'll go anywhere and if you do get stuck, you can lift the whole sled up
right on, i used to have one but now i have a yamaha 250 enticer which is something like the bravo.

i don`t know how many times i have been stuck i the snow whit out a shovel by my self. Last time i was stuck for like 1 hour and after like 50 meters i was stuck again for like 10 minutes :P i just had my hands and som straps to find a way to get free from the snow

Get stuck too many times ruins the day, I stuck with roads and open areas when we used snowmobile. Haven’t been snowmobiling in a long time.
I carry a 1 ton come a long and 100 ft of nylon rope, usually get stuck near trees.

Snowmobile must always have snowshowel. Just mine snow from front and under foot rests and ready to go.
STUCK SLED + SNO BUNGEE = UNSTUCK SLED (no sweating involved!) (oh I mean the cobra sled to sled bungee not the rattler the one with the handle, I wouldn't waste my money on that one again)

I rode with a guy the other day that had a snowjack. Jack it up push it over, repeat until not stuck.
bungee is the best tool to have
That is some crazy shit.To much work,just don't get stuck,yeah right.
If its over built it wont break, it will just be heavy. $15 Aluminum grain shovels are almost better than the larger snowmobile shovels..

my method to not getting stuck is buying a polaris :)
Alpatriod I like polaris they have some sexy rides but I still see my bro's digging them out of deep powder. Any sled gets stuck we were pullin yammys and polaris out of the powder today and a few cats also, everything that showed up today got stuck lol was a great day!
@@W4RD1N8ER the only sleds i know that barely got stuck were the good ole elans and bravos. the enticer 250 did good in fresh powder as well. these are old sleds but still are strong trail breakers today. and if you get stuck on one, there so light you just lift them out. Also does anyone know if the new phazer is heavy at the front?
yes the new Phazer is heavy at the front and no power, that's y I ride a 96 Phazer II long track

kind of funny that the Yamaha is the most stuck ride light sleds in deep pow
i know, back in the day yamaha was the way to go now the company is being ran by american's. atleast the snowmobile side. when japanese designers were behind the helm it was amazing and japanese knew there stuff! but nowadays like i said americans took over the snwomobile side of yamaha :(
u don't get stuck with a Yamaha Exciter 440. They are so smal and u cant just take the snowmobile in your bag whenu are stuck xD

still you would use all of you energy shoveling with a big shovel so it is better to take your time...
here's a tip: carry a bigger shovel, those tiny $130 fancy looking ones take forever to dig out with :(
