'aprende' should be 'aprendí' (aprende means 'he/she/you formal/it learns, while aprendí means i learned) 2.) it should be 'aprendí ingles PARA ver peliculas (one of para's uses is to mean 'in order to', which is what you want to say here)

If you are describing a singular masculine noun you will use este. For example: "Este libro" = "This book". Esto is used to say this as well but when you are not specifically describing a noun(The noun is not in the sentence). "¿Qué es esto?" = "What is this?". You use esto here because you are not describing a noun. You are simply asking what something is. If you were describing a specific noun, then esto or esta would be used. For example: "¿Qué es este objeto?" = "What is this object?" or "¿Qué es esta tarjeta?" = "What is this card?" One more tip. Don't get "esta" and "este" confused with the verbs: "Esté"and "está".
