What are run-ups? Also, are the EquiBase speed figures located in a track’s racing program. If so, those speed ratings are listed with two numbers, for example, 70-84. What do these numbers represent?
Run ups are where the gate is positioned before clocking starts in a race. For example horses may run 30 feet before the actual timer starts on.a six furlongs race .
