The drums used in Ape Escape PS1 for levels like Frosty Retreat we're the most powerful drums I've ever witnessed in a video game. Ridiculously talented.
Toco toco you are doing such a great job introducing us all these Japanese artists in your high quality videos that i think (and hope) the Japanese Ministry of Cultural Affairs should really help to finance your work. You really deserve that.
@@ArchipelDocumentaries A very late, very big thanks for this interview and the hard work you do. Soichi Terada is one of my favourites, both as a person and an artist. I see you still make videos so I hope this means that the Ministry ended up reading Blade of Mird's comment!
Definitely one of my all time favorite (Japanese) artists, who i didn't even know composed music to one of my favorite youth games (Ape escape). While i usually like dark dystopian music, there is something to his sound that simply radiates genuine happiness and innocence to me, which never fails to put a smile on my face and give me that warm fuzzy feeling when you know "all is well". Thanks a lot for sharing. He seems like a beautiful soul.
I think the vast majority of Japanese people are extremelly humble and for me it's one of the many reasons why i love them so much. Unlike the majority of Westerners who like to boast with every chance they get...
What a lively person. Glad to have learned about such a different life than mine. Your videos and editing really make me feel like I'm there and listening to him talk in person, not to mention being a part of his interesting life for a few minutes--fantastic work as always!

I'm so happy to see that his music is being appreciated for what it is nowadays. I would absolutely love to see him live, he looks like he is having the time of his life. I'm so very happy.
5.24 I used to play Sunshower during warm up house sets a couple of years ago, real timeless track. Love his house tracks and his work on the Ape Escape games was great too :)
L'émission qui prend ses pieds pour aller voir les gens... Une surprise de retrouver Toco Toco avec une production léchée ! C'est devenu encore plus poétique ! Magnifique ! Hop, abonné !
I met Soichi after his gig in Sydney NYE 2021 and I can honestly say he is the most kind hearted man I’ve ever met who’s truly in touch with life. Hoping we meet someday again !
I was so excited when I saw that a toco toco episode would feature Soichi Terada. Finally it's one of my favorite episode. J'adore, c'est dingue comment la qualité de ce programme ne cesse d'augmenter haha 👌🙌👌

*Soichi Terada san, you're so AMAZING!!!* 👏🏻 *I'm a BIG fan of Ape Escape series, LOVE IT so much!!* 🐵 *His soundtrack for the series is a TRUE MASTERPIE‼️* 😍 *ARIGATOU for this super cool interview!* 😉
Man, classic Japanese musical influence in contemporary sound is just brilliant. His Sumo Jungle album is a masterpiece. The eclectic nature of Japanese elements mixed with Western jungle beats make for some tantalizing compositions.
Here after seeing the happiest man in house music at Golden Plains. Arguably the best set of the festival, I'm sure he walked away with a swag of converts.
Been a fan of Soichi Terada's music for quite some time now, so I'm really happy you guys got him on the show! Would love to see writer Ryukishi07 on it as well. Keep up the good work!
マジでこのカオティックジャパニーズハウスというか、テクノ歌謡的な融合が堪らなく好き。尊敬してます。
Wow this is a surprise, never expected an episode on Soichi Terada. His music for Ape Escape 1 blew me away as a kid and still does to this day.

Wonderful video. The instrumental of Sun Shower was a huge track in the underground NY house scene, and sounds just as special today as it did then.
You cannot help yourself but dance like a madman to that tune!
