  • In this video I go into detail on how to remove, clean, and change rear pads and rotors on a 2015 Impala. Not an incredibly difficult job, and pretty simple to do, if you have some hand tools and patients!
This is a DIY channel, I try and go into the details that may be missed on other how to videos.
These details that are often overlooked, also tend to become the most frustrating parts of the job.
If you were helped even a little, please consider subscribing and liking the video. It costs nothing but a few seconds, and lets me know I am doing something right, Thanks for stopping by!

What was that long piece or tool you used on your floor Jack? The problem I have is my floor Jack I use at the jack points just before the rear wheels but then where I I place the jack stands for safer support. I saw you placed the floor jack underneath some point from the rear. What was that point? Thank you. Good video. I have a 2018 impala ltz.
The one bolt to get the pad bracket off was so so so tight and you couldn't use a socket because of a bolt sticking out in the way. I had to abort the DIY of the job because of that issue. Thanks again. God bless you.

It's a part they sell at harbor freight, it bolts in place of the normal cup on the top of the jack. It allows you to lift the whole back at once. Should be able to accomplish by just jacking on the rear cross member on either side. I don't actually own the car and can't remember what the rear looked like, so I may be thinking of a different vehicle. Other option is to simply look up the jack points on google for your year make model, so you can put the stands wherever you feel comfy. Just pay close attention if you are jacking up the car on one of the unibody crimps, they can and will fold over or dent the bottom of the car.

I have never once torqued caliper bolts/bracket bolts to any torque spec. However the older cars are around 145 ft/lbs.

If you do “touch it” just spray brake cleaner on it again duh
