I appreciate the video. I had no idea how the drive system worked and watching your video gave me the knowledge to look "under the hood"...or in this case, under the battery. On mine, the belt hadn't failed, it had just come off the pulley that's directly under the seat. I put it back as intended and the tractor works like a charm again. Thanks again!

These straps are called “Stay Pads” for some reason. My JK needed new ones as well. Without them, your backend and rear window will sag. Mopar sells replacements sets for $135 which is INSANE. I got all of these materials from amazon for around $20 😅

Much easier way to do this, take out the battery box, and remove belt from trans pully drop front part of the deck only. Jack up front of mower and pull off the pto clutch, remove belt from around clutch, and pull out the belt, which took me 5 mins.

All lawn mower manufacturers need to be sued into ground for these automatic compression releases. They always knew they had a problem here, and yet they keep on churning them out with no change at all. So they can sell more new lawnmowers.

How can you be that old and not know how to pronounce Poulan? It's like Poland, but without the D. Glad I've never had that particular problem, but mine is a 46" cut and looks nothing like that under the battery box. Under my box is just the hydrostatic transmission and fan. Lifting out the battery box does make my belt much easier to change and I can't figure out why most videos show folks trying to change them from underneath. If you have big hands like I do, going in from underneath simply isn't an option except for work on the front pulley and the plastic guide pulleys/tensioner pully in the center.

I did that an worked for awhile ,replaced the cvt no help. Had a new be T laying around,matched them up the old belt was worn about. A 1/4 inch an was bright an shiny on the sides put new belt on an it works ,

I replaced the drive belt but still having problems. It seems when I put my foot under the brake and push it in the opposite direction of the brake I can drive normally. But if I don’t do that I have no power. It’s as if the brake is being slightly applied enough to loosen the drive belt to not work. I cleaned all the grass from underneath inside to stop anything from stopping the brake from completely releasing. I need help!!!!! PLEASE

All of which begs the question….why doesn’t Briggs sell the farkin’ decompression cam as a separate part!!!??? Why do I have to spend over $100 for a complete assembly to replace a $5 part!???

After I watched the video I put a Reese on a 2016 patriot. The only thing different is I didn't need to lower the exhaust. The bolts are supposed to be torqued so I didn't use the impact gun. But everything else was a big help thanks man

My 19 hp just thru the compression release. The idea disassembling the engine just really was not appealing so started looking a other options. Decided to add spark plug antifoulers to reduce compression....added 2 an engine will start and runs good of course it is down on power sume but will cut grass. Thats good enoughfor me.

04 Impala passenger arm stopped sweeping today when it started raining more. Look like what you showed. It wants to move, but the bolt is probably just spinning in it.

I have an old JD L100 that was in pretty bad shape, including a broken compression release; I rebuilt it and got it running without repairing the cam. I found you can spin the crank by turning the screen, counter clockwise to just after the compression stroke. Then when you try and start the engine the flywheel will provide enough momentum so the starter can turn through the compression stroke and start the engine. I suspect this might shorten the life of the starter so I have disconnected the seat shut off, so if I need to stop I can slow down the engine and leave it running till I'm done using it. So far it's lasted three years doing this.

Are the drive belt and the mower deck belts the same? That part number is the one I ordered for the mower deck and it was the right one. But you say it is for cat drive. So they are the same?
