I still don't understand why nobody mocks iPhones for the bezels, while they completely disregard Sony Xperia phones because of their bezels. At least Sony phones have two front firing stereo speakers, and a headphone jack. Meanwhile iPhones don't even utilize the bezels...

Sony still the best. I have XZ1 and it's soooooo good. Android Oreo - faster than Pixels. Super snappy, great battery. Great camera. And it's original unlike any other silly "bezelless" smartphone out there.
if people can buy the iPhone 8+ and say that's the best phone, what's wrong with them when they say these phones are terrible cuz of bezels.

Pip Hacker bezeless is the new thing and Sony xzp had hit all the right spots but didn't have anything outstanding except the 960fps slo-mo and you also might agree that people only use it rarely.
It didn't have the extra features like a dac or wide angle lens etc. Also it was the most expensive flagship among all.
It is a great phone and is one of the best phones and I agree it didn't get the media coverage as Samsung or apple.

Big improvement is Camera 📷 & bit Loud & reasonable increase in speaker volume for RUclips & Ringing
Specially Camera Quality is lot more better then before with better detail & colours but i feel Battery life is bit decreased, which was much powerful before
Also Some, Apps are not working on Android, Orea like "Pacer" , "Mochat" , & Some game apps also...
But good thing is internet speed for browsing is increased, & user interface response is speedy as well also,
An addition of app. Known as, 3D, creator is also there but i didnt used that yet cuz of no interest

U11? really? Crap build quality. Check out the teardown of that phone and then check out the teardown of the XZ1. S8? Sure, great phone. But I exchanged mind for a XZ Premium, because it looked fragile and found it uncomfortable to use.

sony bezels vs iphone 8 bezels hmm... not so huge after all.
And many people don't care about iphone bezel, they only mock at sony bezel.
Google Pixel 2 bezels.. Bigger than than these two together.
I still think Sony has some of the greatest potential of any company. Just thinking about them overall as a company, they make many of the cameras found on other flagships that receive praise for their cameras. Sony TVs are incredibly nice, supporting 4K, OLED, and HDR, so I know that they have the technology to make a great screen. Imagine if Sony really focused on a market-pleasing screen. Smaller bezels, front facing speakers, high quality audio jack as always, great camera, IP68. If they could go back to one of their quality polycarbonate backs, they could even work wireless charging into the device and then they would instantly be competing with Samsung on all fronts and beating them particularly in audio. I'm not saying that they do this, I'm saying that they have all of the necessary pieces already that they would need in order to successfully do this.
Sounds good, but still nobody would buy it because it's not a Samsung or Apple. You forgot about audio btw. Sony used to include these cool NC-in-ears with their phones. Most reviewers didn't even understand it and thought it was just a run of the mill included pair of cheap in-ears.
Something like a high quality audio-jack is also something people don't care about. And of the people who are saying this, most wouldn't even notice the difference. If you really care enough about audio-output enough to dislike the output of the average phone, you'll use a MP3/DAC-player. Even cheaper options like the FiiO X1 or the Sony NWZ-A15 will destroy the phones with the best audiooutput (LG V30, ZTE Axon, HTC U11) out there.

Francisco the oled painel yes but, that doesnt mean anything. Sony x1 extreeme is the best image processor on the market, and sony knows way more about movies and what it takes to make a great image than preaty much any other manufacturer..
I agree with you. Sony has all the tools, the technical ability, the quality, and a brand name that carries a pedigree and history......it really is a question of them managing to make it all click by nailing everything all around. As you say, they make excellent TVs, audio devices, cameras....not to mention the playstation.......yet for some reason they don't quite nail it with their phones..
just got my xz1 and the display is very low quality and yellowish looking.

so I think sony should keep the design. it's retro yet stylish. but I think when they finally release their new phones they should do a couple of things. 1.keep a single camera and make it amazing like you do. that's including the front facing camera. 2. keep the headphone jack at the top and the fingerprint button on the side. it really just makes sense. 3. make the bezels like the nubia z17s. smaller on the top and bottom and nearly non existent on the sides. 4. keep the compact flagship area alive. I love the compact and if you made one with insanely small bezels it's a winner with front facing speakers. 5. thickness should not be a concern. if it's no thicker than the s7 active then you're fine. 6. make all the screens hdr. 7. wireless charging please? might be too much. 8. 4k video capture on both camera with the same eis. I love the pixel original eis but was disappointed with the new ones and the originals front facing eis. it's literally software. it's not impossible. you have the algorithms. 9. I'm always a fan of having my buttons for volume on the opposite side. also I love the camera button and the easy to get to sim card slot. 10. if you can keep it at a 16:9 ratio screen. I know 18:9 is in right now but rn it's not as optimized as 16:9. I want to watch hdr videos on a screen that fits the image without ugly black borders. what's the point of having an amazing screen if it isn't all screen all the time?! and please keep the battery reasonable.
honestly I'm really hoping they do all of this in the compact version. like they literally nailed the xz1 compact with the specs. they just needed to add wireless charging and really make those bezels smaller in the same aspect ratio. the cameras will of course be upgraded as well as the cpu so I never worry about that. if they make a compact bezeless phone that's as small or smaller than an iPhone 8 or essential phone then Sony has my money.

Santo they shouldn't need too. their design is unique and an automatic indicator of a Sony phone. The most important most of a NEW phone is the internal specs, to keep up with these yearly phone cycles. Just like Samsung and Apple have their signiture designs that they don't stray from too far. Sony found a design and slowly perfected it. It still looks stunning.
The bezels fit into the overall design and the phone looks good with them.

Sony had the idea to keep the design, to keep older phones look the same. Also they believe that this is the most comfortable design and just perfected it over generations. Sony looks at it as a product you use, not show off. So it's design is aimed at use. I'm not sure which phone you are using and whether it indeed looks better, but I didn't like f.e. the very good looking S8 and exchanged it for a XZ Premium. It's replaced an iPhone 6S which also is a phone with some bezel and a nice phone to use (even though it was slippery and I had to use a case to make it more comfortable).
Johhny leave this illiterate fucktards. The Mercedes G class is an Icon looks same as it was first introduced. Why? Because once a good design is perfected that accomodates waterproofing, stereo speakers and a good camera lens, most people will overlook the stupid bezeless bloody trend. I hope Sony never adapts that. So Samsung and Apple fucktards can say Sony copied them. I will keep buying Sony, i hope they never change to take the Public's word.
Ali ASH TV sony has their own design, sony doesn't like to follow others. Just look samsung, apple, huawei, lg, xiaomi, etc, they all have the same design nowadays. (too mainstream).
