- Broadway living legend Chita Rivera will take the stage at Carnegie Hall on Monday, November 7 in a new concert celebrating her illustrious career. The show will feature a host of special guests, including Rivera's great Broadway pals Alan Cumming and Andy Karl. In anticipation of the event, TheaterMania was invited to go inside the rehearsal room where Rivera and Cumming offered a sneak preview of one of the iconic songs that will be performed, "Nowadays" from Chicago. Rivera, of course, originated the role of Velma Kelly in that musical's original 1975 mounting, and as this number proves, it's still heaven.
DAMN CHITA! Still killing the game❤️
We saw you with Ari Shapiro last night at McCallum Theater in Palm Springs. What a funny, sweet and bawdy show. We love it!
Just saw your show at Massey Hall in Toronto and had to look this up! OMG! "Right foot"😂
Compulsory view for anyone at drama school. Ms Rivera is a legend and a joy.
They still got it! WERK!!!
so charming the both of them, but Allan, be still my heart!
Alan Cumming apparently had learned the choreography for the first time 10 minutes before 😆 he didn't know there would be choreography OR press at the rehearsal 😆
At a show, he told everyone to look it up because he thought he didn't do well. Seemed like he did great!
Great!!👏👏💖💖
Shit just beautiful
She's so cute.
I just reallised, that I accidentally gave it a thumb down...
I hope I won't end up in Broadway-Hell...
she certainly still moves better than Alan Cumming :-)
Guys, timing of on syncopated vocals, steps. Voice blend and chemistry isn't a match despite the great artistry of each performer.
