Holy shit dude! In terms of how this game handles neutral runs, ESPECIALLY abandoned Genocide runs, this game has Undertale and every other AU beat by a LANDSLIDE!!! The tonal shift is incredible as well! How everyone feels so confused as to what happened, how Sans talks about it all. This the PERFECT take on a Neutral Sans fight as well. The game still has a few funny moments left, but the tone is still very depressing. I’m also UNBELIEVABLY happy that the royal guard has more members in this game than just Alphys and the dogs. This is still the best AU. Period.
@@deltatale533 Personally, I think TS handles it the best. I love Undertale Yellow, but most of interesting Neutral Run options come after you kill Starlo. If you cancel Genocide before meeting Martlet in the Dunes, everything just…returns to normal, pretty much. The town before Wild East isn’t even abandoned. The characters still have way more reactions than in Undertale, for example, killing everyone in the Ruins and leaving Dalv alone, but still. Deltatraveler is in a similar boat. You get some interesting dialogue and cutscenes for neutral runs but not many major changes, unlike TS and UTY.

Deltatraveler as a whole is edgy and/or bafflingly written at times, but its geno route in particular epitomizes everything bad about it. Like, you have Noelle flat out *suicide baiting,* and that's after aborting the route, when the tone should be getting lighter, at least starting to. That's not a well-handled tonal shift at all, it's just going for pure shock value.
This is actually an interesting approach to aborted genocide runs; it’s not quite a neutral route since you’ve put monsterkind on high alert and the consequences of your actions still stick. Also fun fact: If you eat the average dog in front of Sans during the fight, he calls you thief on top of the crimes you committed cuz that dog had his name on it 😂
@lemons38 to be fair i think it makes sense if you abort it in the ruins. i mean, most of the underground had no idea their friggin QUEEN was in there, let alone some random monsters. but yeah i do agree when it comes to any other route abortion point

She believed Frisk to be pure evil, and was about to intervene, but then they spare some random kid, despite having previously shown themself to be not above murdering kids or noncombatants. And that act of kindness makes Undyne hesitate, because it seems completely out of character for the thing she knows has done worse.
@lemons38 I think the point that really doesn't make sense is if you don't kill monster kid, kill Undyne, and then go to Hotland and Alphys helps you like nothing happened. So, basically Alphys watched you kill dozens of people in Snowdin _and_ Waterfall, stopped watching just as you were about to face Undyne (despite having every reason to watch your every move), and decides to help you anyway despite everything you did to Papyrus, Snowdin, and the inhabitants of Waterfall. Now I'm not faulting Toby at all because he's just one guy, he had a time limit and Undertale is already pretty unparalleled in terms of the game reacting to your decisions. Still, this is a weak point, albeit one that ~nobody will see unless they're actively trying to explore every possibility.

We don't yet because the area hasn't released yet, but what we do know is that the third area can likely be aborted and it will also be very different on Genocide/Evac Neutral compared to Neutral/Pacifist.
At least we know what happens if you start genocide on the Starlight Islands. Everything is like a Neutral Route until after the fight against Muffet, where it becomes an Evacuation Route.
I wouldn't say it's a waste of time, it's a nice way of showing Sans's judgmental side and ultimately acting as a way to show your consequences for still killing an entire area of monsters and thinking you can just put that behind you. And the dialogue during the fight also changes depending on if you aborted genocide in ruined home but still killed monsters in Starlight Isles, or if you went through ruined home as a pacifist but then decided to initiate evacuation neutral in starlight isles by exhausting the kill counter. Ultimately your consequences still have lasting effects throughout the rest of the game.

Surprisingly, neutral could prove to be harder than genocide, considering you're getting genocide events with way less health
