They should never have allowed a manned flight without making sure that Starliner actually works i.e. successful unmanned flights without repeated faults cropping up.

SpaceX is being held to a new, higher standard because "Elon." Boeing can get funding in the range of billions for a launch system and crewed capsule that SpaceX has already done. (and at a far lower cost) The organizations that are grounding SpaceX can't deal with the rapid changes that SpaceX makes - instead turning to companies that generate billions in cost overruns and delays. Of note is that SpaceX has already addressed the second-stage engine failure cause, and will likely shift to radiation-hard electronics just as quickly.
SpaceX has no involvement in Europa Clipper other than launch services and therefore definitely will not be involved in resolving the radiation issues of it. Also, the FAA (the only organization that can ground rockets) has nothing to do with awarding contracts. Finally, remember that in 2014 SpaceX was a much riskier proposition. Falcon 9 v1.1 had barely flown, and both CRS-1 and CRS-2 had some severe anomalies with thrusters (Boeing's not the only one!) Of course, nowadays things look a lot worse for Boeing and SpaceX has shown its capability far more.
The video was rather painful to watch and the repetition became quite irritating. It needs to be re-edited to make it concise and therefore more watchable.
When you have a mindset that a failure is considered a success…(US standards) then you are placing the lives of your astronauts in a perilous situation
Boeing has lost 1.5 billion so far on the fixed price contract for Starliner. Boeing would like nothing more than to have NASA voluntarily cancel the contract for Starliner and let Boeing get away from all the financial bleeding of the Starliner program. Boeing has recently said that they will never enter into a fixed price contract with NASA again. That all of the failures of Starliner are attributed to not having a cost-plus contract, which starved Starliner from having enough funds for proper development. In other words, Boeing is blaming NASA for Starliners' failures.

Why, when this whole episode is about Starliner do you continually show us images of the reliable Dragon. Seems like your image stream is choreographed with no thought to the script being run under them. 🤨
This sounds like a back to back commercial. Repeating the same information is unnecessary and annoying. Please refrain from repetition, otherwise, I enjoy your channel and the information you provide. Thanks.
Why do you keep repeating things??? So a 13 minute video from you guys can be closed after 3 minutes since everything will be repeated over, and over, and over, again!
@@nandisaand5287 Yeah, the ramp-up has been slow and it's definitely cost ULA. But they've had a great record of success and Vulcan has brought costs down much closer to Falcon 9, at least in NSSL contracts.
About the worst video I've seen on this subject. Why are we seeing space Shuttle Columbia and SpaceX Dragon in a video about a Boeing capsule that should never have been launched. Those two astronauts should refuse flight back on this capsule and ask NASA to send hire a SpaceX Dragon to rescue them. Heck, I'd feel better on a Russian Soyuz capsule that the Boeing capsule.
Nobody that's worth their salt will work for that company. All they have is people first coming out of college with no skills yet working on difficult projects and they're not successful. Bowen need to restructure yourself and then open their plant once they get enough qualified people working there😢
Rubbish ! Not getting a lot of customer demand for Falcon Heavy does not indicate a problem with Falcon Heaby. Again I call BS on this. I'm going to tag this channel as please do not show it to me.

If the astronauts lives are more important than the politics of saving Boeing...SEND SPACEX TO RETRIEVE THEM!
Stop believing the lives and half truths.
Why don't you say the same thing over and over
Don't watch it😊
Did Boeing make this - repeating the same information - video too?
Why are comments replayed
This has got to be the worse video I've seen from this channel
OMG, "Department of Redundancy Department "😄
5.1 billion dollars for a consistently failing vehicle.
SpaceX: 300 million
This situation should mandate a spacesuit standard so astronauts of any country are not locked in to one specific spacecraft.
They should never have allowed a manned flight without making sure that Starliner actually works i.e. successful unmanned flights without repeated faults cropping up.
The incompetent never fail to amaze me. Boeing and NASA ! What a joke. Bring on Space X.
History, including a complete repeat, til 3:36, suggest you skip the first 3-1/2 minutes.
The problems with the Starliner were repeated in the video thus extending it unnecessarily.

Describe the editing style of this video: MICHAEL BAY MEETS 60'S BATMAN FIGHT SCENE
The video was rather painful to watch and the repetition became quite irritating. It needs to be re-edited to make it concise and therefore more watchable.
Why all the irritating popping sounds?
The biggest problem with Starliner is that NASA and Boeing are not understanding what reality really is.
Can't stand the repeated dialogue.
Why is this info so redundant? Why not get right to the new information and not go over the past failures, twice, in the same video.
Falcon Heavy is an excellent heavy lift system. Better customers are needed to utilize it to its full potential
When you have a mindset that a failure is considered a success…(US standards) then you are placing the lives of your astronauts in a perilous situation
Boeing and reliable maybe needs to be looked at
Wish someone told me not to bother watching this…
Why when you’re talking about the failure of Starliner at the start of this video you occasionally drop a clip of the very efficient SpaceX
A lot of the shots are NOT even or Starliner. They are of SpaceX
Legacy aerospace.
I gave up after 30 seconds. What on Earth is the point of the pointless swooshing noises after each edit and the popping noises?

Milk the job Boeing long enough for us to retire. Laughing all the way to the bank. Hehehehe. Thank you Boeing, keep on delaying.
Are the engine test done in an airless vacuum to test in space conditions? If not, what good is the test data.
I don't think any engine tests are done in a thermally controlled vacuum chamber.
Hey It's 2024 not 2023 I think your narration has 'Clock Issues" too.
Made in america quality standards.
ULA spent Billions to get us here, and yada yada yada, we're stuck on the space station.
Imagine waiting to go aboard anything made by Boeing 😂
Could not watch to the end. Too many annoying boop and bops
valve vendor was probably DEI quota that didn't know valves
SLS=single launch system, yes launch the rocket and then throw it away for a completely new rocket that will also be thrown away.
Don't forget, it's $4.1 BILLION thrown away for EACH LAUNCH! And NASA just canceled Viper due to a few million $ shortfall. So very sad.
this video has a lot of shit in it
High RISK.
If this video is about Starliner, why all the SpaceX shots?
Because the Starliner doesn't fly!
Ok class..... Can you say, "Cost Plus Contract"? "Lipstick on a pig project" . Doomed from the start.
But it wasn't a cost plus contract?
@@AmbientMorality A pig by any other name is still a pig.
@@gregoryfaith4303 I mean, it was a firm fixed price contract. That's pretty much the opposite of a cost plus contract.
