Been saying it for ages,, clean the decks,, from , probably, goalie to strikers, we need the lot. And it needs done quickly with team gelling and champions league qualifiers coming fast!
a lot of different felling's about this game but some players to mention that done well. both balogun and Davies were very good and a great partnership, got stuck in, communicated with each other to me we keep both of them and get someone like balogun but much more reliable that can play week in and week out. all though the midfield did take a while to get going. raskin and diomance again they complement each other attributes so thats a partnership that needs and should continue or at least someone like raskin to pair with diomande. as for diomande he was great in terms of intensity ran his heart out, put him self about and was more than ready to put a harsh tackle when it was needed, cantwell also done decent. as for dessers this might be a weird comparison but i fell like a sakala just with out the pace that would make Usain bolt jealous . that you dont give them time to think about the shot and it might go in. now onto the ref i mean he did let the game flow but. first that handball on Davies never cause 1. from what you pointed out CJ about ball hitting onto a hand bai deflection from another body part but 2. what is Davies supposed to do, magically know that the ball is going to bounce of perfectly of hatata ( i think) who is on the ground and going to hit his hand. the foul on sterling no foul, no card not even VAR. sorry? its in the box, scales ( i think ) isnt getting to the ball, also there is a difference between a shoulder budge and winning just cause your stronger and someone putting 2 hands on your back and shoving you to the ground. now for the joe heart disallowed goal. to me its a goal now if Celtic supports want to compare with raskin the difference is that joe heart is all ready going for the ball, 2. scales maybe i cant remember is holding onto raskin. 3 the shove from raskin is not NEARLY as forceful as the one on sterling. taking as the fact that joe heart barley moves and sterling get shoved to the floor like joey Barton when pissed of. now against braga the same type of challenge was put on roofe and the players was sent off. now to ask a question? if that the case for Europe why is it not a fowl and a yellow card. now im not saying something extreme that Clancy was bribed at this points im honestly thinking he including his bias and his fan for being a Celtic fan and as for the sudden every foul was a yellow card and SOME decision was just to try and balance it out but i know i might be wrong as for clement he had good tactics and game plan just some players were not up to scratch. i trust clement think if we get the players that we want as rangers fan then we could really be in for a treat
Celtic fan here.....firstly walter smith statue superb to a great man and manager. He carried tommy burns coffin and yes rivalry but they guys kept it at that . Grew up watching TB teams batter walters sides to get beat by a gazza or albertz ......this is what we all want as in a title race ,cup finals. Classy post, sir. I was fortunate enough to live through our domination of the fixture in the 90s. We were outplayed many times but we knew how to win and you could see the Celtic players struggling to figure out how to beat us. It's all cyclical and we'll be on top again at some point...besides, it's only a game after all!

Apart from GK and wherever Sterling is playing this week, Celtic are better in every position. The fact Clement took it to the second last game of the league, won the league cup and lost today to a 90th minute goal with the worst rangers squad we’ve had since coming back up shows he is a quality manager and deserves time to build his own team

This might be controversial. I'm 100% behind Phil and the job he has done, especially after what he inherited last year. He will get the summer to get his own players in, but if he doesn't win any of the first 2 derbies next season, then he'll have a massive problem. That'll be 6 without a win against Celtic, which raises massive red flags over his leadership, and I'd put my mortgage on Celtic not being as bad next season. We need to start beating Celtic and doing it quick style! That being said, I thought we had them today, and that is the difference between both teams. Gutted is an understatement!!!

If you push a keeper in either box they will always give a foul. For some reason different rules for keepers over outfield players as it has been for a long time.

With VAR why do people even push and hold on in the box at a corner you know they will see it….Its a blatant foul on Hart like it or not keepers can’t be touched these days so the right decision was given…no keeper was tested in a scrappy game and when a mistake was made it was Celtic who capitalised on it
Cheers for all the videos this season CJ. Can’t say it’s been a good ending but it was a fun journey. We were competitive right until the end but just fell short. On to next season and a clear out of the loser mentality players.

Tav needs to go. Watching him lose the ball in opposite half then meander back and not defending. Wright also losed the ball that led to the goal and wasn't unexpected. Need root and branch changes to this team and the medical department, as hopeless amount of injuries throughout the season. Scunnered with the team.
Guys absolutely DONE, as a defender Derek he's never been great but now he is absolutely done and can't get up the pitch anymore either, has no pace left whatsoever
Agreed. Tav nearly sold the jerseys again in the first couple of minutes. It's like watching Ricksen being terrorised by Petta, but on repeat (and at least Ricksen, God rest him, improved and went on to win a fair haul of trophies). He just gets the yips facing Maeda. And for that reason, he's out.
Those who constantly defend Tav, Goldson, Borna, Lundstram and Souttar throughout the few years have put us here. Winning nothing. They all need to go. They are not Rangers class defensively. I don't care what they have done before, they haven't done it enough and are old and spent and won't get better. If we keep them as regular starters, expect loser groundhog day yet again next season. If those running the club have anything about them they will find a way to remove them all.

Celtic Fan here........ always watch your reviews because you tell it how it is. We're not stupid either. That was a terrible Celtic performance against an opposition that was desperate for a result. Referee was a disgrace, but then we've had a few VAR and ref decisions go against us too. I'd rather it was binned. Refs love VAR, means they don't have to actually do anything. Terrible game to watch. You are correct in all the decisions that were wrongly made. No wonder we have no refs at the Euros. They are a joke, inc. VAR. Bin VAR & get in foreign refs & pay them the money instead. If this had been another Covid season with no fans, Rodgers would have messed that season up & it would be the other way round. He got lucky. Clement is worth keeping, he's good but had to manage too many injuries. Celtic started the season with too many injuries ( losing to Kilmarnock was why you won the League Cup ) and our transfer windows were terrible ( apart from Idah ). We had what Rangers winners from 20 years ago had ( via EBTs ) England Goalie, Woods ( Joe H ) , Carter V ( Terry Butcher ), Calum McG & strikers............... = solid spine, right through team. I like to be honest about bad decisions & bad management of a game ( subs )just like you are in reviews . Good luck next season esp. in Europe. I just wish we didn't play 4 times a season & the opposition ( Hearts/Hibs/Aberdeen ) made it all a much better fight/closer. Money has ruled otherwise, shame.
Really good analysis CJ, as always,. I thought overall Rangers maybe just cinched it as the best team. In the second half they were definitely the better team. I think it was definitely a foul / infringement on Hart at the disallowed goal. I also think it was a real smarter of a shot from Bernardo ( he needs to be the replacement for O'Riley, not sure he's up for the job yet} Not being a Rangers fan, and being based in London, Raskin and Silva look good players. Sterling looks like a very good players. Anyway, seasons over, prayin for Scotland to do well
Hopefully that's all the old guard gone. New defence needed next season. Goal capable wingers and more firepower. Under Walter we didn't just rely on one striker over and over. I would like to see us go back to having 3 or 4 strikers on rotation next season.

Irrespective who he brings in, lets go, it is all on his shoulders, no excuses. He’s had the best part of a season in this league and we need to cut him some slack, not his players etc. but 2024 / 2025 is all on him and nothing other than winning the league will be acceptable. Must say celtic really got away with that VAR decision it was really soft but keepers are so protected in todays game and they go down at a brush of a hand. The game really came down to a mistake and a striker who is above the standard in scotland. Sad to see the fighting in town earlier and hope everyone gets home safe as thats what really matters Wish you all the best for next season 👍

Gerrard knew fine well what he was up against in terms of the SFA and refs when he took the Rangers job. He got a real taste of it in his first OF - a 1-0 defeat at Septic Park - when Willie Collum ignored a clear foul on Ryan Jack just outside the Celtic box, in the build - up to the goal. VAR - with honest, neutral officials- would have correctly chalked the goal off .

Prime example of VAR needing to go was the Diomande review for a red card. Over 2 minutes it took to decide what we all could see instantly, no red. And yet BBC commentators said it was red. Btw BBC commentary was a disgrace today too
Great vid CJ from a Celt who enjoins your weekly videe--oohs! I think this is all about money when it comes down to it. Whichever club has the most dosh is likely if not destined to field the better squad and so win trophies. Not rocket science.
If it hadn’t been for disallowed goals in old firm matches this season, Rangers in all probability would have won the treble. We are fighting more than one enemy now. Lawells placements in the SPFL hierarchy, and on the refereeing lists are making it more difficult for Rangers to succeed. It needs to be addressed. Kevin Clancy should never referee another Rangers match in his career. I hate to sound like one of the great unwashed, but this season has been simply beyond belief.
Pleasure as always keeping up with the channel this season CJ! My pre-match routine will always involve a cheeky cjnovo preview. I hope we've got plenty to be excited about next season, a couple good european ties to get pumped up for and a few old firm wins for PC to get the ball rolling. Was reflecting on Seville with my brother the other day and realised we've been Injury FC now for 3 seasons... mental to actually realise that the injury problems in the spine of this team haven't been addressed in that long. This season was by far the worst for injuries but you only have to cast your mind back to Gio's UCL campaign to see the glaring holes in the defence. Bringing in Beale was one of the worst decisions the board's made between that and not backing Gerrard or Gio properly. We often get too caught up in the "Ranger's Man" mantra bringing in players or coaching staff, I've got faith in PC and his team to recruit well, would be nice to see a few Scottish players in there but if they scout the next Bassey I'm more than happy :). Always come to your videos mate cause you’re very honest and unbiased. Both teams were shite today one of the worst games I’ve ever seen. But we jjsy have a way of winning. Think we’ve won 23 trophies in 13 years and rangers have won 3. With Walter smith I had nothing but respect for that man and shed a tear when he died. His relationship with Tommy Burns was superb and what a manger even though he fucked us over the years he was an amazing man. Both were fouls both raskins and scales . And the goal rangers scored against us at Parkhead your boy put both his hands on Taylor’s shoulders to jump up that should have been a free kick .
I wouldn't even bother thinking about next season. The board are more interested in useless vanity projects than investing in the team. Clement is honestly a pretty poor manager and doesn't have the mentality to lead the club to success. There's nothing to feel good or hopeful about and I honestly fear what will happen to the club after another 2 or 3 trophy less seasons
Diomande was quality, excited to see what he can do for us next season. Brilliant composure, strength, athleticism and technical skill in tight areas. Sterling had some good moments too but he's wasted out wide, he's better in CM and we really need to be playing 3 CMs against Celtic, they were breaking through the middle of the pitch far too easily first half. Raskin grew into the game well in the 2nd half. Positive signs from them and the 2 CBs but under no illusions that serious overhaul is still needed.

How can anyone look at that disallowed goal and say it wasn’t the correct decision? It’s also wrong by say Hart was “nowhere near the ball”. He was under it and in a good position to take the ball cleanly or at the very least get a good fist on it, until he was pushed on the back. There are lots of times Refs get it wrong; that clearly wasn’t one of them. Good call.. Same number of major trophies..!! :)

Compliment raskan in any way is hilarious, he fouls hart and causes your goal to get chopped off then puts in a poor challenge on Bernardo who out plays him and gets a shot on goal that eventually leads to the winner. Butland makes one big mistake raskan made multiple

We were outplayed many times but we knew how to win and you could see the Celtic players struggling to figure out how to beat us. Regarding VAR which I’ve never supported unfortunately decisions like the no goal are where we are at in football; whats happened to you get some calls and some calls go against you? Now it’s everything is drawn up by lines and zooming in on the slightest contact, I mean goalkeepers are a protected species nowadays

This might be controversial. I'm 100% behind Phil and the job he has done, especially after what he inherited last year. He will get the summer to get his own players in, but if he doesn't win any of the first 2 derbies next season, then he'll have a massive problem. That'll be 6 without a win against Celtic, which raises massive red flags over his leadership, and I'd put my mortgage on Celtic not being as bad next season. We need to start beating Celtic and doing it quick style! That being said, I thought we had them today, and that is the difference between both teams. Gutted is an understatement!!!

If you push a keeper in either box they will always give a foul. For some reason different rules for keepers over outfield players as it has been for a long time.
You cannot push the goalkeeper. It is no t the same as any other player . You cannot say Hart is not getting it . That’s your opinion not a fact.

With VAR why do people even push and hold on in the box at a corner you know they will see it….Its a blatant foul on Hart like it or not keepers can’t be touched these days so the right decision was given…no keeper was tested in a scrappy game and when a mistake was made it was Celtic who capitalised on it

Tav needs to go. Watching him lose the ball in opposite half then meander back and not defending. Wright also losed the ball that led to the goal and wasn't unexpected. Need root and branch changes to this team and the medical department, as hopeless amount of injuries throughout the season. Scunnered with the team.

I don't care what they have done before, they haven't done it enough and are old and spent and won't get better. If we keep them as regular starters, expect loser groundhog day yet again next season. If those running the club have anything about them they will find a way to remove them all.

Celtic Fan here........ always watch your reviews because you tell it how it is. We're not stupid either. That was a terrible Celtic performance against an opposition that was desperate for a result. Referee was a disgrace, but then we've had a few VAR and ref decisions go against us too. I'd rather it was binned. Refs love VAR, means they don't have to actually do anything. Terrible game to watch. You are correct in all the decisions that were wrongly made. No wonder we have no refs at the Euros. They are a joke, inc. VAR. Bin VAR & get in foreign refs & pay them the money instead. If this had been another Covid season with no fans, Rodgers would have messed that season up & it would be the other way round. He got lucky. Clement is worth keeping, he's good but had to manage too many injuries. Celtic started the season with too many injuries ( losing to Kilmarnock was why you won the League Cup ) and our transfer windows were terrible ( apart from Idah ). We had what Rangers winners from 20 years ago had ( via EBTs ) England Goalie, Woods ( Joe H ) , Carter V ( Terry Butcher ), Calum McG & strikers............... = solid spine, right through team. I like to be honest about bad decisions & bad management of a game ( subs )just like you are in reviews . Good luck next season esp. in Europe. I just wish we didn't play 4 times a season & the opposition ( Hearts/Hibs/Aberdeen ) made it all a much better fight/closer. Money has ruled otherwise, shame.

Really good analysis CJ, as always,. I thought overall Rangers maybe just cinched it as the best team. In the second half they were definitely the better team. I think it was definitely a foul / infringement on Hart at the disallowed goal. I also think it was a real smarter of a shot from Bernardo ( he needs to be the replacement for O'Riley, not sure he's up for the job yet}

Must say celtic really got away with that VAR decision it was really soft but keepers are so protected in todays game and they go down at a brush of a hand. The game really came down to a mistake and a striker who is above the standard in scotland.

Gerrard knew fine well what he was up against in terms of the SFA and refs when he took the Rangers job. He got a real taste of it in his first OF - a 1-0 defeat at Septic Park - when Willie Collum ignored a clear foul on Ryan Jack just outside the Celtic box, in the build - up to the goal. VAR - with honest, neutral officials- would have correctly chalked the goal off .

Prime example of VAR needing to go was the Diomande review for a red card. Over 2 minutes it took to decide what we all could see instantly, no red. And yet BBC commentators said it was red. Btw BBC commentary was a disgrace today too

If it hadn’t been for disallowed goals in old firm matches this season, Rangers in all probability would have won the treble. We are fighting more than one enemy now. Lawells placements in the SPFL hierarchy, and on the refereeing lists are making it more difficult for Rangers to succeed. It needs to be addressed. Kevin Clancy should never referee another Rangers match in his career. I hate to sound like one of the great unwashed, but this season has been simply beyond belief.

Pleasure as always keeping up with the channel this season CJ! My pre-match routine will always involve a cheeky cjnovo preview. I hope we've got plenty to be excited about next season, a couple good european ties to get pumped up for and a few old firm wins for PC to get the ball rolling. Was reflecting on Seville with my brother the other day and realised we've been Injury FC now for 3 seasons... mental to actually realise that the injury problems in the spine of this team haven't been addressed in that long. This season was by far the worst for injuries but you only have to cast your mind back to Gio's UCL campaign to see the glaring holes in the defence. Bringing in Beale was one of the worst decisions the board's made between that and not backing Gerrard or Gio properly. We often get too caught up in the "Ranger's Man" mantra bringing in players or coaching staff, I've got faith in PC and his team to recruit well, would be nice to see a few Scottish players in there but if they scout the next Bassey I'm more than happy :). Clement is honestly a pretty poor manager and doesn't have the mentality to lead the club to success. There's nothing to feel good or hopeful about and I honestly fear what will happen to the club after another 2 or 3 trophy less seasons

Diomande was quality, excited to see what he can do for us next season. Brilliant composure, strength, athleticism and technical skill in tight areas. Sterling had some good moments too but he's wasted out wide, he's better in CM and we really need to be playing 3 CMs against Celtic, they were breaking through the middle of the pitch far too easily first half. Raskin grew into the game well in the 2nd half. Positive signs from them and the 2 CBs but under no illusions that serious overhaul is still needed.

How can anyone look at that disallowed goal and say it wasn’t the correct decision? It’s also wrong by say Hart was “nowhere near the ball”. He was under it and in a good position to take the ball cleanly or at the very least get a good fist on it, until he was pushed on the back. There are lots of times Refs get it wrong; that clearly wasn’t one of them. Good call.. Same number of major trophies..!! :)

Celtic fan here CJ. I have to say that both teams were poor but I think Rangers seemed more assured today at the back, Balogun is the best centre half I’ve seen for yous for a while now.
