- We fight a variety of enemies in game, but the lore has tons of species most people have never heard of. Species that evolved from herd animals, those who were uplifted by the Traveler, species made of energy and thought and tons more. Let’s take a look.

The traveller watching humanity send 6 guardians to fight the Hive God whose been its adversary for literally millions of years and seeing them kick his ass with angry gunpowder and some bits of metal (entire civilisations the traveller aided previously fell to Oryx but an adequately staffed McDonalds worth of people kill him in like 2 hours)

There was a lot of buildup and learning that went into it but still. Maybe the traveler too had to learn from failing over and over just like guardians.

The taishibethi sounds cool, and it would be awesome if we got to fight the taken emperor as a raid boss. Also "Hive war-moon" goes unreasonably hard.
It could be that Nezarec was the byproduct of the Psions’ attempt to replicate the Veil Experiment that gave birth to the Witness. Rhulk may have been involved with the trial. This is hinted at by the seven distinct eyes on Nezarec’s face, perhaps taken from seven Psions.
I would love to see (however unlikey) a member of the witnesses species that survived.
According to the lore that could happen, but they'd be millions of years old if we go by the history. ( I think oryx and the hive was over a million years of history, if I'm remembering right)

Destiny could do a spin off where you play as enemies. Pretty much every alien race has different classes.
More likely I'd expect that to be a D3 thing, if we ever get a new game, where you can created a human, awoken, exo, Cabal, Eliksni, Hive. These would make sense so far, as they're part of the coalition, the Vex im not so sure, as im not about the Taken since they're kinda husks. The Scorn maybe, they'd kinda be for the Eliksni what the Awoken are to Humanity...
There are also the Swarm and the Conquerors from the FS CE lore book as well who were also gifted the light too like the Precursors
My understanding was that The Swarm and The Conquerors were just other factions of the precursors
@@Grayves_X from the context, they were other species granted gifts by the Traveler too as the person talking makes it out to be separate from their own gifts from the Traveler, since they have invaders too, and the Conquerers subjugate worlds too.

The arkborn are super interesting to me and would love to know more. You have an alien race that’s pure energy like what that’s really cool, would that also imply voidborn or solarborn? If there’s a destiny 3 I hope we get a lot more lore from outside are solar system and I would also love if we got to play as some of the other races instead of Exo/Human/Awoken.

I dont think we'll ever see the Jovians in the game and maybe the smallest amount in future lore. I think the Nine were originally meant to be Jovians but that all got scrapped for them being sentient dark matter. I imagine Bungie are just going to try to sweep the Jovians under a rug, maybe add a tiny bit pf lore that just explains them and Xur a bit if they need to but otherwise they are wanting to ignore their existence

One thing that I have always wondered, is all this lore of different species, planets and places supposed to have been within the borders of the Milky Way galaxy. I don't recall if it was ever said explicitly that all this information comes from the greater universe or not. Would anyone here know or is that just part of the mystery in the lore yet to be determined?
No, i dont believe so. Some events mentioned in the video transpired in a different galaxy.
Given the sheer scope of the conflict and its ramifications I think it’s a trans galactic conflict. Calus in the Lightfall campaign claims the Witness “holds the universe in (its) grasp.”
it has such big universe and we are stuck on earth with the one and same over 10 years from d1 to d2 and nothing new ever

Are we the Witness? Is the Light and Dark Saga a reflection of our current issue as we continue to figure out The Interent aka "The Traveler" and discuss the "Final Shape" as it continues to impact the world both seen and unseen way. The unseen horrors of the dark web most can never really understand and the lighter everyday side carefully shaping the perception of life.
Think you got really specific, the conflict in destiny is really easy to analogise because the forces are so nebulous in a way. Personally id say this current saga has very much been a fight between optimism in the face of utter adversity, vs pessimistic fatalism. Sides are drawn very much according to if a side holds hope for a better tomorrow or if they've given in to believing in a cruel universe and in that giving up, ended up agents of cruelty. All the switching of sides in the lore can br chalked up to losing hope, or gaining it.

It’s crazy how all we have is the four enemy races and their husk or zombie versions and raid bosses. Nothing else for a decade……. Very wack
All these technologically advanced and knowledgeable species and it took these itty bitty people with mental illness to take down the Taken King within a few hours?? I feel so bad about it somehow Oryx and his family stood 0 chances 😭😭
