Jesus "Chuchito" Vladez came in The Greene Space for a special show " Soul of Cuba" in October 2010.
Born in Havana, Chuchito Valdés, son of the legendary Chucho Valdés, comes from one of the most distinguished musical families in Cuba. He has recorded and performed piano with the renowned Cuban band Irakere, which he led for two years. He has played at festivals, clubs and concerts in Cuba and the Caribbean, across the United States and South America, and throughout Europe.
Some of his appearances have included Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club in London and Green Dolphin Street in Chicago, the Jazz Festivals of Havana, Cancun and Merida, as well as a recent performance at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Music Festival. Last year, his ensemble completed a successful U.S. tour with concerts from Chicago to San Francisco. His band has also has appeared at Orchestra Hall in Detroit and at jazz festivals in Chicago, Detroit, San Jose and Brownsville, Texas.
I saw this freakin' genius at Oakland Yoshi's a few weeks ago. Since then, i have watched this video about 50 times. The man is incredible, and if he ever appears to play in your area, GO SEE HIM.
He's going to play at Flower Piano at night in the SF Botanical Gardens July 18!
Coming to Chicago again next weekend. Going to check him out

Pffff....que comentario tan fuera de lugar...nada que ver una cosa con la otra....Yo escucho a Bad Bunny y desde hace años escucho a Chuchito, Chucho, Bebo, Emiliano Salvador, Roberto Fonseca, Roberto Carcasses, Ruben Gonzalez,, Lilí Martinez, Harold Lopez Nussa, Aldito, etc... ademas de un largo diapasón de musica de todo tipo...Encasillar a la gente por el tipo de música que se oye y creer que estas no son validas sólo porque no te guste....eso sí que da lástima....
Vaya! Chuchito is awesome! brainsarus is right. Probably need better tags to attract folks who dig Afro-Cuban music.

No se mucho de musica pero me gusta mas que su papa, un gran musico tuve oportunidad de escucharlo en cancun con su trio.

Angel Vallejo Requena se nota que no sabes nada de Musica, como puedes decir esto por dios chucho valdes es un virtuoso ese es el hijo más malo, chuchito no lee ni música, para eso la hija que si toca de verdad, chuchito no es un virtuoso su padre si, si no fuera por su apellido no estaría en ningún sitio porque más que el en cuba tocan 300 y en España unos cuantos más como( Caramelo, Melón, Luis guerra, Pepe Rivero etc)

Yes, I really like his music and the Sabor of Chuchito, every time he comes to Dc I go to see him, but I also think that the humming he makes doesn't help him. Too much.
