Yes, you're absolutely right, it's amazing how she just goes about her business, and is so comfortable around us. Even our dog liked her and she wasn't bothered about him. Can't wait to do more videos of her when she returns.
We've got lots of echidna on our property. Very fortunate for them to come and go as they please, visiting us every year. If you're interested, I have more echidna videos on this channel.
@@LivingInTasmania Well yes. I've actually studied lots of different native wildlife. Their behaviours, habitat, diets, distribution and status. Echidna's are one of the species I am fond of having encountered them a few times. Most recently several weeks ago at dusk had to pull my vehicle over to the side of the road in the adelaide hills as one was crossing the road. I got out and approached it and stood there making sure he/she got across safely and well into the creek bed as adelaide drivers are well known for being ignorant. Wallabies, Possums, Bandicoots and Gliders are others I'm interested in having encountered them around Melbourne's eastern suburbs or yarra ranges. Tasmania does have an advantage over the mainland I believe with less feral animals as predators.
Australian when they know Echidna:Real Echidna.

Seen two Echidna's in the wild. Victoria is where they are most numerous.
