I'm moving from being a purely functional planner (horizontal weeklies, moleskine/leuchtturm style) for almost 20 years to trying bullet journaling and dipping my lil tootsies into being more creative. I have literally NEVER planner-hopped (the very idea makes me need to take my bed), nor broke into one early, but it's always strange to me when people are so very worried about how others approach their planning (or marriage...or makeup...or...). Maybe it's the middle school math teacher in me, but i wanna be like 'worry about yourself!'
Anyways, your creativity is infectious, and why i'm here! Thanks for sharing!!

I love the honesty. We spend so long looking at how other people use their planners that we do not leave any room for our own decision making process. Personally, I love the Hobonichi Cousin and bought one for 2024. I've seen a lot of people moving to the Common Planner and have, on numerous occasions, wanted to just follow the crowd but I ask myself, is that necessary? Will the one I have serve what I need it for? Great video :)

Too true! It can be hard enough to really “own” your style as it is. There are so many (great!) options out there… there’s really no “wrong” way to do it, except if you aren’t allowing yourself to lean in for fear of messing up or not following ~the rules~. Thank u for being here!!!!

“I don’t know you”😂😂😂 I love that your only rules are that there are no rules, and that even if it doesn’t end up working/it ran its course, at least you tried something new that brought you joy🫶
The only way you know if you like a size is to try it when it’s in your budget and after you’ve done the research! I was SO convinced A6 was going to be perfect and it just isn’t for my EDC/catch all because it’s too small for my handwriting + whatever i want to add (photos, magazine clips, etc). If I can’t sell it, I’ll just have to find a fun little use for it! Thank you for reminding us that it’s just never that serious.

YESSSS!!! It is really just like, you will not know until you try. I definitely am empathetic for those concerned about cost but IMHO if you’re thinking it’s a frivolous purchase, you’ll think it’s a frivolous purchase no matter what. And that’s fine! No one is forcing you to do this!!

Leuchtturm has always been my go-to! I took a big long break from journaling and just took a leap and bought myself one for 2024. I'm so excited to get back to it 😊

Never watched your videos before but I enjoyed it thoroughly and I loved that you stood up for yourself. I think it’s sad that anybody that chooses to share on RUclips automatically has to be ready to defend themselves but I think the sooner it’s done the quicker the bitter hearts will be quietand move on. You didn’t sound bad at all you sounded confident and what you know yourself to be and that’s exactly what you should be. Thank you so much for sharing.

Could you maybe do a quick lil video flipping through your leuchtturms/bujos throughout the years? I’m planning on getting one to use it for yearly tracking (reading & workout stats, what new music I listened to, etc), but also random little spreads/etc (days where something big/super fun happened w/ photos, random rankings, etc). But I’d love to see any little collages you made or how you laid out spreads for a little extra inspo? If you have time/want to!! This was the first yt video of yours I’ve watched and I enjoyed it a lot! Wait brb checking that you haven’t already done this before commenting - HAHAHA you already have!!!!! Still commenting this for the lols. ok bye, off to watch the other vids

Hobonichi is just the best. Since discovering it in 2018 I think I will never go back 😂 I used to love leuchtturm and moleskine. I use my hobonichi cousin as a journal (memory keeper) , everything and anything. I don't use it as a planner at all. My hobonichi wesks is my planner. Then I have other journals too (hobonichi). I just did a youtube video of my 2024 journals. Its all exciting!! Love your style Claire!! ❤❤

Hobonichi legitimately changed my life!!!!! ❤ I was a “catch-all” cousin journaler for 2 years and it was great. Maybe I’ll end up doing that again someday. Thank you for the comment ❤

I am using the Leuchtturm Monthly Planner (B5) this year for journaling. I'm using the calendar for brief memory keeping and the notebook for commonplacing.

@@clairefromonline It's working really well for common placing, but I just bought a B6 for memory keeping. The calendar in the B5 is not quite large enough for me to add photos and other items. Planning to do a two-page spread for each week in the B6.

I have really been enjoying using the Leuchtturm1917 for bullet journaling for the past year. I have purchased Hobonichi cousin for 2024 and worry simultaneously that it will not have enough space and that an empty page will bother me. I also work in an operating room, so I don’t have an office/drawer for privacy, so the one thing I definitely don’t like about my bullet journal is having something so personal at work. I got a Weeks for work and plan to use the cousin at home…..we shall see how it goes!

I've been in rings for the last few years but have had an itch to go back to the softback A5 leuchtturm week on one with notes, which is what I used when I first got back into planning. I have had 2024 pages for my rings system ready for a while and don't want to waste them, so am I the first person to start thinking about 2025? 😄
