In 14 months, your number of subscribers has way surpassed other channels offering similar "outdoors" stories that have been running for over triple the time. Your content is excellent and obviously appeals to many. Well done to Nat for providing support in the background. Keep up the great work Tony. Cheers
Loving the Podcasts mate. So glad you decided to do this. This type of thing has been missing in our community. Absolutely love the variety of guests you've had. I listen to you on the Spotify. I'd actually like a longer more organic type of interview, even if it went longer than an hour, if its interesting just do it. Dont pressure yourself to spit one out every week. Just release a quality product as it develops, and if thats every week or two or three, so be it. I felt some of your videos were cut a bit short.... I was left wanting more with most of your guests. The only one I thought didnt fit with 4wdrive camping outdoors genre was the motorbike dude. I think thats a different category that doesnt really interest me. I really liked learning about people I'd never heard of. Would be great if you get some National Park dudes or a relavent politician on there who's making some of these dumb decisions, locking up areas etc. A better system needs to be thought up and talked about. Your a pretty intelligent decent bloke, obviously, cause you drive an 80, me too by the way, 😝 and you make a great interviewer. You ask most of the things I get curious about. Your now one of my favourite pods to listen too. Keep up the great work and I'm really looking forward to your next season...👍
Thanks for your support, mate! Glad you're enjoying the show. Really appreciate your feedback too. I'd love to get someone from Parks on the show some day, however I am not holding my breath for that to happen.
Well done on season 1. I listen to the podcasts on hikes in the vic high country. Enjoyed all of them but especially Ben Carceller on how to keep tracks open. And the amazing job Boe Langford is doing to clean up the outback. All the best for 2025 and looking forward to season 2.
Thank you, that's so good that you listen to the eps while hiking! Love it. Ben and Boe were definitely two of my favourite conversations from the first season.
I’ve been a listening to this episode since the start, and I started listening as a 4wd owner and camping lover. When you released episodes with hunter’s I wouldn’t say I was super keen, but I learnt so much from those episodes. Was a great listen . The stuff they both had to say should be heard by everyone, and everyone should be educated about the ethical side of hunting. Wish I could hunt myself now. As a west aussie would love to see some guests from our state, if that’s possible. (Remember we call it a parmi too🍻). I’ve loved all your episodes, and love the diverse range of people you bring on. Love your work, keep it up mate👍
Thanks for your feedback mate, and good on you for giving the hunting content a chance even though you're not into it! My hope is that more people will open their minds to learning more about other outdoor pursuits - there's lots of people doing some amazing things out there. Definitely keen to get over to WA again this year and shoot some episodes.
As a new dad like you, your podcast at least kept my mind outdoors whilst I was stuck inside caring for my little ones. Only 1 camping trip in 3 years has been challenging but that will change this year. Time to share this great land of ours with the toddlers and fresh eyes. Look forward to seeing your next podcast series.
Loved the fact that you’re chucking the girls on for podcasts too in this community, it’s been awesome to see the highs and the lows and the way you do these chats Tony, is top tier. A bunch of us just the other day were chatting whilst on a camp trip how much we loved your content for being so genuine and a great listen for road trips. Would love to see a chat with some more WA/NT people! Loved the chat you did with Harry and so so looking forward to more hunting/fishing podcasts, especially from some NT guys! Merry Christmas mate!
Thanks mate, really appreciate your kind words and I'm superkeen to get more girls on the show. I definitely want to get more people on from all over the country, just have to manage the logistics with my day job and the family! Stay tuned for heaps more fishing and hunting content this season!
I’m a interstate truck driver plus touring loved all content liv and Tommy and Timmy down to earth ppl being from the Illawarra seen so many tracks getting closed loved you bringing that up and making a big statement about it because if know one that has a voice stands up it will all get shut down in nsw and we will have nowhere to go so thanks Tony for haven a dig at it
Your channel is absolutely spot on - honestly my go to because I get to see all the people I admire about there/your outdoor life style It inspires me to get out there
Tony, thanks for having the nouse to start this and follow it through. The Aussie 4wd industry is saturated by visual content but not nearly enough storytelling in this format. I listen in audio format almost exclusively, but some of the episodes have been good enough to warrant a re-watch here on YT - specifically Kadeja, and Boe's episodes. Those two were left of centre for the mainstream 4wd industry and I flamin loved them. I suspect with the GME connect you already have the lads from Aussie Arvo's on the list, but they are legitimately turning our some of the most honest, high quality, relatable, and useful content today. I've met them a couple times at shows now, and find them just as personable and passionate in real life. I'd love to hear their thoughts on the lockups and changes going on in Vic vs what we experience in NSW. As to your question about duration - I like the format that Howie uses for the Howie Games poddy. Some are a single episode of 1-ish hour, but any longer chats, he'll split them over two weeks. I think any longer than 1.5hrs in a stretch is going to cause dramas, as people just don't have that time, even on a long commute (where I listen) but I'd be happy to pick back up next week with a 2-3 minute bumper at the start reminding me who you're talking to. Finally, and I know I've been stalking you across the socials a bit recently, I just want to commend you again for having the nuts to stand up as a serious leader in our community, and start the petition to the NSW government. It is so important as a community that we start to form up and use our alliances and be heard clearly, and this is a fantastic start. I think the response to the signatures alone speaks for the demand. Thankyou, and enjoy the break before the year kicks off in full!
Thanks mate! It's good to know the content is resonating. We're going to keep pushing to make it better, and I appreciate the feedback on the format! Definitely keen to get the Aussie Arvos boys on sometime soon. Thanks for your support of the petition, too.
Really enjoy the range of guests. As someone who bowhunts, freshwater fishes, camps, tours, and basically eveything outdoors. Its all relatable. Would absolutely love to see some more office people/city folk who are more in control of all the rules and regulations come on for a chat. Even national park rangers/fishery officers etc
@theouterside yeahh that's also what crossed my mind, finding someone to be able to talk on the matter could open a whole can of worms. Would be good to get on someone who knows alot about the nsw/Vic state Forest hunting programs to
Well done Tony on the episodes so far. I think you have nailed it with the 1 hour episodes, easy to get through an episode travelling to and from work. I have loved that you interviewed crew from such a broad range of interest areas and not just stuck to the 4wd content. Can’t wait to see who you have lined up for the coming year, the only request I have is some more fishing and moto content. Enjoy the festive break
I've listened to most so far, really enjoyed the variety in guests, hearing there start ups and knowledge from them especially Scotty's about who and how national parks was started and compared to how it's being run now. Good on ya mate 💪
I do love the current format, as a truckie I use Spotify alot 😂 i did orignal come for the 4wd content but loving the big variety. I think it's great getting the girls on the industry on aswell. I think the movement you are making is fantastic, I grew up in the bush and hate the way it's currently trending. Looking forward to next season stay safe on the roads 🤙
Thank you tony for the content. As a podcaster about camping. You have motivated me to keep going. It’s a slow growth and fun. My favourite guest was Harry and outback clean ups. as the conversation was great. Hour episodes are great as it’s a good amount of time to listen to in the car or working on the car. 2 hour episodes would be good but the hour has better impact weekly. I’d like to see you interview Sammy hitzke and myself (Anthony ) from the getting out there podcast. Worth a shot. Have a great Christmas and a special first with your daughter
Excellent podcast mate, nothing really compares. I would love to see a brief rundown of the interviewees rigs at the end. If it’s not a 4x4 then there specialised item. In terms of guests Harry from fire to fork was excellent, such an authentic bloke. Longer episode would be great, maybe only with certain guests. Two hours would be the sweet spot in my opinion. Would love to see an interview with the sidetracked boys as they are carrying the torch for SA. Keep up the good work.
As someone that consumes way too many podcasts and just binged all yours over the last week I say well done, top content. I already listen to some Aussie Hunting ones and it’s good to see the crossover of the guests. They all have been great, with Ben Carceller’s one being a highlight, the community need more knowledgeable people like him. Nice work 👍🏻
Love listening to the pod on Spotify while driving around for work. Love the engagement with whoever you’re interviewing and the follow on questions asked unlike other podcasts who just end up talking about themselves the whole time. The only thing I’d like to see change is the opening sound and the closing music, it almost blows the speakers in my van every time it plays haha, could also just be the below average factory Toyota speakers 😅
Social media is often a very superficial place, it’s refreshing to actually hear about people’s stories and where they have come from and what they have been through and how it all has contributed to where they are now. A common theme amongst the majority of the guestsI have picked up and relate to strongly is the notion of the raising the next generation of young people through getting them outside and exploring what our great and diverse country is. My son is 2.5years old and we have been taking him camping and on outdoor adventures since he was 5months old. I think that it’s not just helpful for his growth and development but also so important for us as parents as well. As a clinician that works in the mental health space, the outdoors and movement is something that we need to utilise more both as prevention and for those living with poor mental health. Great to hear about the walk it off organisation. I’ll look into seeing if we can start a walking group up here in Ipswich QLD. Make sure you give yourself some recognition on what you have achieved mate! Well done and looking forward to next season !
Agreed mate - I think it's super important that we create the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts - it's good for the soul. I'm sure the boys would be stoked to chat about the possibility of starting another Walk It Off chapter North of the border. Thank you 🙏
Great podcast mate! 🎙️ You got the voice for it, you got the character for it which is very important for the podcast to be successful. Very important topics covered for community so looking forward for next season. 🤟
Matt Kinsela was my favourite episode. I’d love to hear the OG Roothy on the podcast! or Rhett who was the owner of Lorella springs wilderness park in the NT before the government basically shut it down, he has some unbelievable adventure stories. Love the hour long regular episodes and bringing awareness to the increased national parks issue and challenges of owning modified 4wds.
Just keep doing what you're doing. Content is great. Good convo, good banter. Fast five was a good addition (100% parma )and the random setting is heaps better than a face time or studio set up. Few names i would like to see you have a chat with would be Roam Lyfe, the crew from Back to basics and the unicorn Ybs Looking forward to future seasons and the 1hr eps are perfect.
Well done Tony on your first season! Honestly, I want to keep hearing and watching the mixed bag of people and conversations. It’s brilliant hearing lots of different perspectives and stories - not just 4WD related. An hour a week is also perfect.
Hey Tony I've really enjoyed listening to your podcast throughout the first season and the length of each episode and weekly upload. The variety of people that you have had on the channel has been great my main interests are 4wding and camping but I appreciate all the other aspects that you dive into. Keep doing what your doing looking faward to listening in 2025.
Merry Christmas and Happy new Year. Have watched most of the ones you have posted over the year. I watch it for the individual convos you have with a different type of people. I’m in the U.K. so I'm not writing this for anything, just to show my support in what you are doing here. Good Job, just keep doing what you're doing, that's what brought me here to follow along with you. Thank you, look forward to next year as well.
@@theouterside Yeah, I fully understand, I'm what's called a ten pound POM, lived in west Aust for over 40yrs, not here in U.K. by choice tho, I'm a 501 sent here.
My favourite episode was Timmy he’s an absolute legend. Keep the 1 hour in person podcasts. I need more episodes, not longer episodes 😂 I find myself banking them so I can binge them while at work and my god it gets me pumped to get out and about!
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it tony! doing well and it’s a nice niche with good quality guests. Just put yourself first if it means every fortnight so be it. The great man beau miles uploads randomly and has a loyal fan base. I feel you have a similar loyalty behind you. I havnt had time to get around all the eps but I tell you now I will get round to it at some point! Have a great break
Really enjoyed your episode with mr cowboy tuned, was great to hear a bit behind the scenes of my favourite meme page. Would love to see the Aussie Arvos boys come on the pod. I know you go on about it all the time but the talk about camping simple has resonated with me, as a young apprentice it’s good to see influenzas encourage just getting out there and how important respecting the bush is. Best of luck in the new year and enjoy your Christmas with the family 👍
Hey Tony, great channel. I don't see a need for any changes as it is awesome as is. It's hard to pick 1 fav ep as all are good, but I did enjoy Kadz and Ben Carceller epic. Then again so was Jillaroo Jess. Wild like to see Briggsy ,Tyler Thompson and Jessie(4wd 24/7 my not let that happen). I don't think you can go wrong with the 4wd fishing and hunting content. Maybe someone who is into prospecting would be interesting. Keep up the good work and have a good break.
Matt Kinsella was awesome to hear from also the solve off-road guys were a real eye opener to the off-road scene for me. The only recommendation I have is a RUclipsr Chris Richards or Ozpatrol that'd be awesome to see and hear from him about how he got started in the off-road lifestyle. Keep up the awesome work mate I'm keen for season 2
Great podcast and have enjoyed hearing from a mixed variety of people from within the industry. Looking forward to that being broadened to the wider outdoor recreation community. Already this poddy has introduced me to new people who I may have never come across and have found their stories very interesting as well as learning more about guys I already follow. Fav ep was #19, very interesting to hear from Ben and his knowledge about the issues surrounding land access. Wouldn’t mind hearing more on that topic from people who have a fair bit of skin in the game. It will also be interesting to hear that topic from people within the greater outdoor rec community who are not necessarily 4x4 based. As more of a listener than a viewer that outro can creep up on you through the car audio. Wouldn’t change the hour long eps, perfect length to get through whilst traveling to and from work or cooking dinner. With a young family and business to run it’s hard to find the time to listen to the long poddys before having to pause and try to get back into it later on. Can always seem to listen through The Outer Side in one hit and stay engaged on the topic. Have a great Christmas Tony and hope you enjoy a well earnt holiday. Looking forward to tuning in for season 2.
Thanks heaps for the feedback, mate. I really appreciate it! I'll tone down the outro and try and keep it more in line with the audio level of the rest of the podcast.
Love the podcast. I generally listen with headphones while working, so i don’t watch 100% of the episode . I very much enjoy listening to a wide variety of people and interests. The 1hr long is good. Look forward to season 2.
I love the 1hr long podcasts. I listen to them on Spotify while driving. The variety of guests is awesome. As a traveller it's good to hear things in different perspectives. I love the fact that everything you do is authentic. The few chats we've had are real. Keep up the awesome work mate. Whoopee_adventures appreciate what you do.
G'day Tony, First time viewer to your content. Looking forward to catching up on your First season. Not having seen the earlier content I don't feel right putting in ideas yet. One thing I cannot agree with that you said in todays video is about not having/using Bow shackles. Every recovery kit should have a few different size shackles.
Welcome mate, hope you enjoy the show. I'm keen to hear more about why you think soft shackles aren't a good replacement for steel bow shackles ? I'm yet to find myself in a recovery situation where a soft shackle isn't a perfect (and much safer) alternative to a steel shackle. I've put some serious loads on soft shackles with both winch and snatch recoveries and I'm yet to break one.
Keep up the great work Tony, Always keen see your latest EP' , I think you should try and interview Russell Coight, Looking forward to season two in 25. Hope you and your little family have a happy and healthy Christmas.
Love what ure doing mate and best part is ure not talking to the big names every time mixing it up with people that some hadn't even heard of and makes you look into them which opens up another level of followers
I loved Harry’s interview with Graham Cahill, so he would be great to have on the show. Two others; Tyler Thompson (and Burto) and Nathan from Edge of the Outback. Two really genuine guys who love what they do.
Great to hear you fought your doubts to give it a crack. We could all learn a thing or 2 from that alone! I came across the podcast as i was driving to visit my grandpa in country respite care (very fitting with walk it off) and punching out Ks on the road. Ive enjoyed the bigger 4wd personalities. However, the variety is important, each new person got the opportunity to go indepth, get nitty gritty or nerd out in their respective outdoor field wss great. Helped me forget why i was on the road but also learnt something new. Not that you didn't already but more or less keep encouraging guests wonder down their own rabbit hole to nerd out but also circle back into a handful of questions if the conversation does become difficult to manage or something. Always interesting what someone studied or their trade, experiences or roles they've done. Keep it up! EDIT: overlaying photos of a pride and joy or similar could be a nice touch too
Came for the 4x4 content, stayed for the good people, outdoors and adventure content. Excited to hear more diversity of guest to help me discover more people and motivate me to get outside more!
Incredible stuff mate. Always a good listen & insight into the 4WD and outdoor industry. Always good to hear about the "unusual things" about the people you sit down with. The things you dont hear them chat about often.
Hey mate, really enjoyed every episode of the poddy. I was surprised i like the eps that weren’t necessarily about 4wd. They were really engaging and had some great stories. Keen to see some fishos on the poddy next year!
Great job with the first season. For returning guests, I would love to see a yearly interview with boe from out back clean-ups. Would also love to see jillaroo jess back again. For the length of videos, I think if you end up having a really good interview that can fill 2 hours, then yep do a 2 hour interview, but only if it is someone you cant get back on again for a long time, other wise stick to the hour long episodes. For guests, I would love to see some engineers or owners of some of the brands you stand behind so we can get some of the challenges and back grounds on why things are the way they are. Would also love to see some of the accommodation places interviewed as well, like the Dargo hotel managers or some fishing tour operators, the longer they have done it the better so they can explain how trends have changed etc. Also would be good to get a highway patrol cop on that has to police 4wd's etc and can maybe explain the problems they see from there side. Have a good break see ya next year
Thank you for the feedback mate! I'll definitely get a few of the guests from the first season back on to continue the chats, still lots to cover! Not sure I'd be able to get a HWP officer to speak publicly but agree, that would be great.
I listened to all on my way to work can’t say any were bad. Don’t fish or hunt but still good listening. Hour long eps are great. I can see where some could be longer. Long winded way of saying I’m happy as it is mate!
great job mate has been a top notch podcast fun real great topics great guests, cant wait for more as a outdoors and motoring enthusiast i cat wait to see what you have to in the pipe line next year. love to see something from roothy, toby price or silly swagman mattsy. enjoy the time off looking forward to listening in the new year
I've thoroughly enjoyed the episodes and format so far, quality over quantity IMO 👏 It would be interesting to hear from more people behind the scenes in the industry e.g. photographers etc. or even the pioneers of 4WDing/Aussie exploration.
I really enjoyed you talking Matt kinsela, Timmy and all the people involved in the 4wd community. Talking to them about track closures, plans, tough tracks etc.
I have enjoyed your content and have enjoyed hearing from a variety of different people with different points of views and hobbies, so not just well known 4wd’ers, I’ve been introduced to people I hadn’t heard of. I think 1hr is a good time limit for attention span. Merry Christmas and I hope you enjoy your first as a dad.
My favourite was definitely out back clean outs what what he is doing is absolutely amazing, I’d love to see you do a podcast with the crew from side tracked Australia
Hi Tony. I'm still working through the episodes (stumbled onto the channel only recently)... Love the diversity of the guests. Looking forward to more of them. Liked Liv, Pooly, Timmy, Harry. As far as length... I think 1hr is perfect. More will be too long and shorter means you can't really cover enough. Merry Christmas and enjoy the break! All the best for 2025! Cheers Nick.
I've really enjoyed watching these videos. To be honest when I first saw it pop up, I wasn't sure, but I've always enjoyed watching you as a character, you have the right attitude and are just an honest approachable person. It's been great to see the range of people you speak to, some I've known of already, but others I haven't, and that's been really good. The 1hr/weekly format is good. The length is manageable, I often watch them on a plane trip for work. And I like having weekly content to see. I would love to see more social group leaders/admins on the channel. I'm based in tassie, and some our social group leaders are awesome people, who really do engage with communities and drive what is important about getting out in the wilderness, so would be great to see some of these people, maybe it will allow people to connect who otherwise wouldn't have.
Shows perfect as it is! Could you maybe look into whether the OG outdoorsman Les Hiddens is up for an interview...? Or a modern day survivalist bushcrafter like Gordon Dedman. Cheers mate, love the show.
Mate absolutely loved the the first season I think the format is great as is. I really enjoyed the episode with Harry from fire to fork , would love to see the Aussie arvo boys
I’d be stoked to see Roothy on the show! I know it might be a bit of a long shot given he's semi-retired and tearing up the Himalayas on his motorbike these days. But I reckon a chat about public land use and track closures would be brilliant. Loads of your guests have been a pleasure to listen to, but Ben Carceller was a real standout with his extensive industry knowledge and no-nonsense approach. I hope I win the merch pack. I don't have any comms in my Curry Cart yet 😎
The one hour podcasts are a good length. 2 or 3 hour ones i would probably start zoning out. I liked Liv, Tommy, Timmy, Pooley, Bri, Kinsela and Az. My favourite would be Kadz and Andrew, not enough people acknowledging where there food is coming from. Some people id like to see in future ones would be Strick & Fran, Az (B2B), Dan Kistler and Burto
Loving the podcast 👌 its all been great listening. I'll like to hear more of people that trying to stop track closures an looking after the bush so there's more information out there so more people can get behind it. Keep up the good work looking forward to whats to come in 2025
Hey Tony First thing is love what your are doing mate👍 hearing the other side of other you tubers and yourself love the content, loved watching you wheeling with 24/7 ect but loving the podcast keep doing what your doing can’t say who to interview next but anyone in the 4wd game will be awesome! The sound of walk it off is 100% winner men’s mental health is everywhere and any chance for us to talk is a help. Thanks mate have a good Christmas and break catch you in the new year👌👌👌👌
I've been listening to every podcast on spotify, even the people who I don't know I've enjoyed listening to! Good to get a different perspective of their lives. Being a photographer myself I would really love to listen to a few more offroad camera people, like the ep with Dan! That was inspiring. Keep up the good work mate. Cheers, Pat, Offroadlenz
Love ya work Tony. Commented this in another vid, but love the long format of these to listen to at work. An an hour is perfect. Your coverage of track closures and unfair targeting of 4wd owners by police has been hugely important. Pooly, Harry & Timmy has been favourites, but I really enjoyed interviews with people I wasn't aware of before your interview. I'd love to see more interviews with people or brands working in a positive way for the 4wd scene like Boe from Outback Clean ups. But also do what you enjoy, not what you think people might.
Keep doing it how you have been doing it, as you come across authentic and relatable. When I’m watching the episodes it feels super familiar like I’m sitting there in person listening having a laugh.
Hi Tony, really enjoying your podcast. FYI I listen on Apple in the car. I found you via Harry and I’ve been listening since don’t change anything. Really enjoying your work. Keep it up. See you in 2025.
Love your work brother and well deserved break. Please keep the current format the timing is perfect, the set up and the presentation keep me engaged, honestly any longer and my adhd might not keep up. It’s been really good to see a different side of your interests and it’s been really educational and eye opening.
Man I think you’ve been doing well for your infancy thus far and establish something very meaningful basically straight off the bat. Being from WA and knowing Harry personally obviously I loved the yarn with him. Hearing Blair talk is always a real treat. All I could say as far as input goes is maybe a more zoomed in shot of yourself and the guest, as I think facial expression up close in these chats as well as variety is a great visual impact. But I do know that increases workload. I love to hear about the teaming up with Walk It Off, I’ve struggled all my life with severe anxiety and it means a lot to me while I’ve tried to promote it the best I can on my platform. Alas mate I appreciate you, keep doing it as you do. Enjoy your break. Oh by the way some more WA guests would be awesome too! Matt
Thanks mate. I've been thinking about multiple camera angles since I started, but you're right, it's a significant increase in workload from an editing perspective. The camera gear also isn't cheap! Maybe one day. Sorry to hear about your anxiety, but it's great that you can be so open about it - talking about this stuff is a great start in managing it.
Great videos all up! Can’t really fault any of the content. Everything is just all very genuine, and I reckon that’s how it should be. No “bs”. Good on ya! Cheers, Davo P.S, I’m sure you already know, but in case you don’t…for the shots that have both shadows and highlights, a variable ND filter should help a whole heap. It’s like putting a set of sunnies on for the camera lenses.
Honestly, mate can't put a finger on my favourite guest so far. They've all brand something new to the table, and I've been really frothing every EP 👌 keep it up!
Have a good one mate. My faves have been Scotty, Jess, Harry, Cowboy Tuned etc. I'm keen to see more hikers, Silly Swagman would be cool. I'm up for it too if you run out of exciting people lmfao. Have a good Xmas & New Year, enjoy the time with the family, stay safe and see you next year.
Podcast has been great, been great listening to creators and people I already watch on RUclips then be introduced to new ones as well. It also feels like you’re just sitting at the pub having a chat and it’s way listening, perfect way to enjoy a podcast. Bring on season 2 🤙🏻
Great show watch most of the shows but love to see more the people who put 4wd on the map like Tim bates john rooth Pat callinan the people who true to 4wding and stories people do bow hunting . And the every joe blow that people don't know about that's doin stuff in their town. Keep up the good work. And merry Christmas and have happy new year to your family cheers
Have loved the pod so far. I think Andrew Ucles would be an interesting chat, if you can get the bloke to sit still in one spot for long enough. Lol. Also Nav from the explore life.. cant wait to see where this channel goes. 🤙
You been doing really well. I been telling mates about your show. It’s good to sit down on a sundee and have a beer an watch your videos. I like the hour long once a week. Looking forward to season two in 25. Hope you and your little family have a happy and healthy Christmas.
hey mate i loved the episode with matt kinsela video , and loved the vid with timmy about the engneering/ defect side of the cars and what the future has
Merry Xmas from New Zealand. I've been loving this channel from the start. It's great to see this becoming more popular. Keep up the great videos. This kiwi is hooked
The Timmy has heart episode. Made me look out for his content and started watching his RUclips. One area I think it can improve is not put a time limit on your guests, would probably make the conversations flow a bit better. Other then that keep up the good work
Hey Mate, loving the show keep it up! My favourite so far was the one with Timmy, probably closely followed by the one with Harry. I want to hear more about the legalities. Someone needs to take the lead in this, and the more we talk about it, the more likely it'll be that we can get some "traction". I also think it'd be a great idea to maybe give a shout out to a charity each week, maybe some kind of pre-recorded 30 second thing at the start of the show? In terms of the length of the episodes, I'd really love to have them go longer, but I think that really depends on how the discussion is going at the time. You can't force a conversation to go longer, but at the same time, if it's going well we'd all like to keep listening.....maybe still drop them once a week but maybe do them in part 1 and part 2 (just a thought). One thing that really stirs emotions for me is hearing stories from ex defense personnel. I watch the Shawn Ryan show a bit, and really wish we had an Aussie alternative. Having it set out in the bush, maybe at night with a camp fire going would be f***en mint!! Last bit....most of us over collecting patches these days ...any chance you could release one as some merch? Keep up the great work Tony, have a good Chrissy break, can't wait for the next series.
Thank you for the feedback mate, all really good input. Patches are definitely on the horizon, will get some sorted early next year (I am a patch fiend).
Love the format as it is currently Tony. Would love to see you sit down with the 4wd/24-7 guys, but understand that commercial arrangements may exclude that. I am a GME XRS user for a couple of years and love your product. You keep it real and honest. Cheers UC 4wd adventures
I have enjoyed all the episodes I have watched, but particularly Adrenalin Offroad and the state of access, I shared this with out club as its something relevant to us also, I feel we are all apathetic about it and not doing enough! Also Pooley, he is such a down to earth bloke and really takes me back to the simple sides of a RUclips channel I miss when other channels have gotten bigger and they have forgotten there roots, so I hope he stays authentic to when he is when he gets even bigger! And also Outback Cleanups was awesome episode, taking nothing away from the rest of your guests, these just come to front of mind for me for the topics they are involved with. I love the formatt and look forward to season 2 . Cheers and Merry Xmas to you and family Safe and Happy New year to everyone.🤘
Been watching from nearly the beginning and loved the first season. I definitely have found that the conversations with people I may not know have been often the most interesting but it’s also nice to get the perspectives of some more well known personalities. I think the things you are talking about regarding camping and outdoor culture/ 4wd culture has been honest and given a perspective that cuts through all the marketing narratives that are out there. Most importantly, touching on subjects like men’s mental health has done that little part in helping me and I’m sure many others get through perhaps a tough day/week. Cheers for putting up this great content so consistently and happy new year 👍
Thank you mate, glad you're enjoying it. Also glad I've been able to help out with the mental health chats - all of us blokes need to feel comfortable opening up and talking about how we feel.
After the Ben Napier interview I’d like to hear from Pete Antenac who runs/owns Tuff Truck and tried to launch ultra4 in Australia. Cracking podcast the mad rig episodes were awesome as well as F2F and cowboy tuned. 2 hour episodes would be great as sometimes you can tell you’ve had to edit the conversation down and get rid of some stuff to make it fit. Can certainly sympathize with the lack of time though. Have a good break mate.
I would love to sit down with Pete for a chat some day! I actually don't edit the eps much - a lot of the obvious cut points are due to batteries running out, interruptions from people or phones ringing etc. It is very rare that I cut out any of the actual content - and that's only ever because of excessive swearing.
Really good first year of the pod mate, it’s really refreshing to hear and watch an outdoor podcast that’s Australian born and bred. It makes the content that much more engaging because it relates to our culture. I really liked Fire to Fork, and it’s encouraging me to start cooking outdoors more. Second would be Boe Langford. A guest I would like to see is Luke from The Bearded Bushranger. He does outdoor camping as the old timers would’ve done, with the bare minimum needed to survive. 1 hour to 1 and 1/2 hour episodes is the sweet spot I reckon. My one complaint is the outro music, but that’s a small complaint. Looking forward to what you’re going to bring in 2025, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family
Thanks man, appreciate your feedback. I'd love to sit down with The Bearded Bushranger sometime, he's a super interesting bloke. Sorry you don't like the outro music 😂
I absolutely have been loving the podcast! I've listened to every episode, you touched on the less popular people you have interviewed and they have produced some really interesting listens. The one i liked in particular was the solve off road guys and hearing about their racing background. Defiantly something I would have never have known about if I didn't hear it on this podcast. I also think you've unwillingly become the voice for land access and rights for 4wds in national parks 😂. I think your formatting is spot on, predominantly listen to the podcast on my way to and from work and it creates a nice escape listening to good stories and having a laugh. You are very informative, articulate, knowledgeable, humble, passionate and a good character. I'd like to say thank you for creating something that I've enjoyed and learnt so much from❤
I would love to see Tyler Thompson and Burto on the Outer Side podcast. I have enjoyed the series and the variety of guests. Please keep up the good work.
On ya Tony have a good Chrissy. I like the 1 hour format but I mean splitting up into two parts could be a thing? Most of the names I'd recommend are the popular 4x4 tubers and I'd guess you have them on ya list already. How about bailing up some of the local accessory manufacturers like Phat Bars, Rassla, MITS, Norweld and the like or even the bigger mobs like ARB, TJM. You could even drag ya boss at GME in for a yarn. Look forward to seeing how ya channel goes, if I was betting man I'd put me money on it growing. P.S Had an after thought I'd love to see an interview of Paul aka Mr Landcruiser. That would be a humorous interview.
Enjoyed the first season, Tony. Congratulations on bringing us something different from the mainstream stuff. The variety has been great, fav would have to be Scotty and Harry. Looking forward to some spear fishing and fishing. All the best to you and your family for the festive season.
Has been awesome watching your channel grow in popularity Tony, well earned. You're a genuine bloke and people can see that. Good on you for sharing such an honest opinion on the podcast. Looking forward to all your episodes in 2025!
Always a great watch Tony keep it up. Love the outside and where you doing it. Would love to hear from Matt from explore life. And also really liked THE MAD RIG what a great sorry. Keep to podcasts short 1 hour is great and really easy listen Keep it up. Merry Christmas 🎅
In 14 months, your number of subscribers has way surpassed other channels offering similar "outdoors" stories that have been running for over triple the time. Your content is excellent and obviously appeals to many. Well done to Nat for providing support in the background. Keep up the great work Tony. Cheers
Thanks for the kind words, Steve. Appreciate it mate!
Timmy Westwood was a killer interview. Informative and good to see you talk to folk that aren’t surrounded by fluff.
Cheers mate, Timmy is a G
Thanks man, that’s great to hear. I think a lot of new dads can relate! Hectic times.
I’m a interstate truck driver plus touring loved all content liv and Tommy and Timmy down to earth ppl being from the Illawarra seen so many tracks getting closed loved you bringing that up and making a big statement about it because if know one that has a voice stands up it will all get shut down in nsw and we will have nowhere to go so thanks Tony for haven a dig at it
Thanks mate, glad you're enjoying the show while you're punching out those K's!
Your channel is absolutely spot on - honestly my go to because I get to see all the people I admire about there/your outdoor life style It inspires me to get out there
@@tomnayler7324 thank you, that’s exactly what I was hoping to achieve!
I like your passion for the Australian outdoors. You have everyone's best interests at heart. Don't change for anything.
Thanks for your support! Much appreciated.
Thanks man, would definitely be keen to have a few of those types on, if I can find someone willing and authorised to speak publicly.
Thanks mate, really appreciate your kind words.
Definitely keen for more fishing and moto content this season!
I've listened to most so far, really enjoyed the variety in guests, hearing there start ups and knowledge from them especially Scotty's about who and how national parks was started and compared to how it's being run now. Good on ya mate 💪
Thanks for the support mate, glad you're enjoying the show.
Thanks heaps mate, I appreciate the support!
Thanks mate, glad it's motivated you to keep going with your podcast!
Thanks mate, really appreciate your kind words.
Would love to get the Sidetracked boys on some time!
Nice work 👍🏻
Appreciate the feedback mate, glad you're enjoying the show!
Thanks mate, great suggestions! Will definitely lower the audio on the intro and outro for you 😂
Social media is often a very superficial place, it’s refreshing to actually hear about people’s stories and where they have come from and what they have been through and how it all has contributed to where they are now.
Thanks for your kind words, mate. Appreciate it!
Thanks mate, good suggestions.
Love what I have seen so far, Harry is always a good watch.
1hr is a good amount of time to keep me entertained, keep up the good work
Thank you 👊
Just keep doing what you're doing. Content is great. Good convo, good banter. Fast five was a good addition (100% parma )and the random setting is heaps better than a face time or studio set up.
Few names i would like to see you have a chat with would be Roam Lyfe, the crew from Back to basics and the unicorn Ybs
Looking forward to future seasons and the 1hr eps are perfect.
Lol we all know it's a Parmi.
Thank you mate, appreciate your feedback.
Well done Tony on your first season!
Honestly, I want to keep hearing and watching the mixed bag of people and conversations. It’s brilliant hearing lots of different perspectives and stories - not just 4WD related.
An hour a week is also perfect.
Thanks mate! Appreciate your support.
Thank you, glad you're enjoying the show!
Thank you! So cool to have some UK viewers, hope you can mostly understand what we're going on about 😂
@@theouterside
Yeah, I fully understand, I'm what's called a ten pound POM, lived in west Aust for over 40yrs,
not here in U.K. by choice tho, I'm a 501 sent here.
My favourite episode was Timmy he’s an absolute legend. Keep the 1 hour in person podcasts. I need more episodes, not longer episodes 😂 I find myself banking them so I can binge them while at work and my god it gets me pumped to get out and about!
I need more time in the day! Haha.
Thanks mate, glad it's motivating you to get out and get amongst it. 👊
Thank you mate, I think a couple of weeks off over Summer will be good for me to come back recharged and ready to go again next year!
Thanks for the kind words mate. It's always great to see people getting into the bush and respecting it!
Thanks man. Would love to chat with Briggsy some day if I can line it up.
Thank you mate, would love to chat to Chris some day.
Timmy’s interview was great. Would love to see designed and built or some of the LCS boys on. Keen for season 2!
Would love to get Richard and the LCS guys on some day!
Just love the consistency and being able to have some fun watching
Thanks mate, glad you like it!
Keep it up Tony love the episodes.
enjoy you’re break see ya in the new year 🤙🏼👊🏼🎅
Cheers man!
Glad you're enjoying it mate, I'm trying to cover a broad range of guests to keep it interesting.
Thanks for the support mate, glad you're enjoying the show!
I have really enjoyed hearing opinions on modification laws and track closures and the solutions that have been made to try prevent more closures.
Thank you, we're definitely going to keep those conversations going as they are super important to the future of our hobby.
Keep up the great work Tony,
Always keen see your latest EP' ,
I think you should try and interview Russell Coight,
Looking forward to season two in 25.
Hope you and your little family have a happy and healthy Christmas.
Thanks mate. Good idea on the Russell Coight interview, I’ll see what I can do. 😉
Love what ure doing mate and best part is ure not talking to the big names every time mixing it up with people that some hadn't even heard of and makes you look into them which opens up another level of followers
Thank you 🙏
I loved Harry’s interview with Graham Cahill, so he would be great to have on the show.
Two others; Tyler Thompson (and Burto) and Nathan from Edge of the Outback.
Two really genuine guys who love what they do.
Thanks mate, agreed. Would love to have all those boys on at some point.
Keep it up! EDIT: overlaying photos of a pride and joy or similar could be a nice touch too
Thanks mate, glad it helped you get through a tough time in a small way.
Will definitely take your feedback on board.
Came for the 4x4 content, stayed for the good people, outdoors and adventure content. Excited to hear more diversity of guest to help me discover more people and motivate me to get outside more!
Glad you're enjoying the show, I'm really happy you're finding it motivating!
Incredible stuff mate. Always a good listen & insight into the 4WD and outdoor industry. Always good to hear about the "unusual things" about the people you sit down with. The things you dont hear them chat about often.
Thank you! The more unusual, the better!
Hey mate, really enjoyed every episode of the poddy. I was surprised i like the eps that weren’t necessarily about 4wd. They were really engaging and had some great stories.
Keen to see some fishos on the poddy next year!
Thank you. I'm super keen to get some fishing content on the channel!
Cheers for the support mate, glad you're enjoying it!
Wou love to see you sit down with the silly swagman for a chat!
I would love to have him on some day.
great job mate has been a top notch podcast fun real great topics great guests, cant wait for more as a outdoors and motoring enthusiast i cat wait to see what you have to in the pipe line next year. love to see something from roothy, toby price or silly swagman mattsy. enjoy the time off looking forward to listening in the new year
Thanks man, glad you're enjoying it and thanks for the great suggestions.
I've thoroughly enjoyed the episodes and format so far, quality over quantity IMO 👏 It would be interesting to hear from more people behind the scenes in the industry e.g. photographers etc. or even the pioneers of 4WDing/Aussie exploration.
Thanks mate, glad you're enjoying it.
I really enjoyed you talking Matt kinsela, Timmy and all the people involved in the 4wd community. Talking to them about track closures, plans, tough tracks etc.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed them!
Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it.
Loved the poddy mate, keep it up 👏
Cheers man!
My favourite was definitely out back clean outs what what he is doing is absolutely amazing, I’d love to see you do a podcast with the crew from side tracked Australia
Thanks mate.
Would love to get the Sidetracked boys on some time!
Welcome mate, glad you're enjoying the show so far. Same to you!
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it.
Good suggestions, too!
Shows perfect as it is! Could you maybe look into whether the OG outdoorsman Les Hiddens is up for an interview...? Or a modern day survivalist bushcrafter like Gordon Dedman. Cheers mate, love the show.
Both great suggestions, thank you mate!
Mate absolutely loved the the first season I think the format is great as is. I really enjoyed the episode with Harry from fire to fork , would love to see the Aussie arvo boys
Thanks man, would love to get the Aussie Arvos boys on some time, they're great blokes.
Thanks, I hear you. It would be awesome to have Roothy on.
Thanks for your feedback!
Loving the podcast 👌 its all been great listening.
I'll like to hear more of people that trying to stop track closures an looking after the bush so there's more information out there so more people can get behind it.
Keep up the good work looking forward to whats to come in 2025
Thanks man, that's definitely something we'll try to do more of in season 2!
I enjoy the diversity of the guests you have on. Good luck with the petition
@@mattycostar cheers mate! Glad you’re enjoying the show.
Hey Tony
First thing is love what your are doing mate👍 hearing the other side of other you tubers and yourself love the content, loved watching you wheeling with 24/7 ect but loving the podcast keep doing what your doing can’t say who to interview next but anyone in the 4wd game will be awesome! The sound of walk it off is 100% winner men’s mental health is everywhere and any chance for us to talk is a help. Thanks mate have a good Christmas and break catch you in the new year👌👌👌👌
Thank you mate, glad you're enjoying the show so far! Walk It Off really is a great initiative and I can't wait to see it grow further.
Enjoyed the episode with Timmyhasheart. Great to see a Tassie boy.
Timmy is a legend!
Thanks for listening Pat, I appreciate it! Definitely keen to get more photogs and videographers on in future.
I really enjoyed the huntress interview as it was really good to hear her side of things.
Thank you, Kadeja is a truly inspirational woman!
Thank you mate, appreciate your comments.
Keep doing it how you have been doing it, as you come across authentic and relatable. When I’m watching the episodes it feels super familiar like I’m sitting there in person listening having a laugh.
Thanks mate, that's exactly what I'm going for, glad you like it.
Hi Tony, really enjoying your podcast. FYI I listen on Apple in the car. I found you via Harry and I’ve been listening since don’t change anything. Really enjoying your work. Keep it up. See you in 2025.
Cheers mate, glad you're enjoying it!
Love your work brother and well deserved break. Please keep the current format the timing is perfect, the set up and the presentation keep me engaged, honestly any longer and my adhd might not keep up. It’s been really good to see a different side of your interests and it’s been really educational and eye opening.
Haha I feel you on the ADHD attention span 😉
Glad you're enjoying it.
No “bs”. Good on ya!
Cheers,
Davo
P.S, I’m sure you already know, but in case you don’t…for the shots that have both shadows and highlights, a variable ND filter should help a whole heap. It’s like putting a set of sunnies on for the camera lenses.
Cheers, Davo. Thanks for the tip about the ND filter too - shooting outdoors can definitely be challenging but I'm enjoying it.
Honestly, mate can't put a finger on my favourite guest so far. They've all brand something new to the table, and I've been really frothing every EP 👌 keep it up!
Thank you!
Enjoying the content, would be cool to hear from Sean Scott or Michael Ellem about their outdoor photography
Glad you're liking it. Both are on the list to have on the show sometime!
Love the podcast mate, really loved the huntress ep and Scotty’s ep.
Should do a ep with the misso and do a ep with the silly swagman
Thanks mate, great suggestions!
Thanks, Mick. Appreciate it mate.
Been great watching & be great to see Benji from rampt on one of your episodes
Thanks mate, would be awesome to get Benji on for a chat some time.
Podcast has been great, been great listening to creators and people I already watch on RUclips then be introduced to new ones as well. It also feels like you’re just sitting at the pub having a chat and it’s way listening, perfect way to enjoy a podcast. Bring on season 2 🤙🏻
Thanks mate, glad you're enjoying it.
Thanks mate, I agree, it would be great to get a couple of the older guys on the show as well as a few more hunters!
Have loved the pod so far. I think Andrew Ucles would be an interesting chat, if you can get the bloke to sit still in one spot for long enough. Lol. Also Nav from the explore life.. cant wait to see where this channel goes. 🤙
Thanks mate, agree, Andrew would be an amazing guest!
You been doing really well. I been telling mates about your show. It’s good to sit down on a sundee and have a beer an watch your videos.
I like the hour long once a week.
Looking forward to season two in 25. Hope you and your little family have a happy and healthy Christmas.
Thank you mate, appreciate it. Thanks for telling your mates about the show, too!
hey mate i loved the episode with matt kinsela video , and loved the vid with timmy about the engneering/ defect side of the cars and what the future has
Thanks mate, I really enjoyed talking to both of those guys - both of them are super knowledgeable and passionate.
Merry Xmas from New Zealand. I've been loving this channel from the start. It's great to see this becoming more popular. Keep up the great videos. This kiwi is hooked
Thanks man, glad you're into it!
The Timmy has heart episode. Made me look out for his content and started watching his RUclips.
One area I think it can improve is not put a time limit on your guests, would probably make the conversations flow a bit better. Other then that keep up the good work
Thanks mate, appreciate your feedback. Understand your comment about timing, unfortunately I've only got so many hours in a day!
Been watching for a while now , loving the content .
The interviews have been great with some interesting content .
Keep up the good work 👍
Cheers, stoked to hear you're digging the interviews!
Cheers
UC 4wd adventures
Thanks mate, working on lining a few of those boys up next year.
Glad to hear you like the XRS, too. 😉
Glad you've enjoyed the show so far mate. Hope you have a good break!
@ that’s great you’re obviously on the right path with these mate👍
@ Thanks man, appreciate your support!
I'd like to say thank you for creating something that I've enjoyed and learnt so much from❤
Thank you for the kind words mate, I appreciate it. Glad you're enjoying it.
I would love to see Tyler Thompson and Burto on the Outer Side podcast. I have enjoyed the series and the variety of guests. Please keep up the good work.
Definitely keen to get the boys on for a chat sometime! Cheers mate.
Thanks mate, great suggestions! Paul certainly seems like a character, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting him just yet.
Enjoyed the first season, Tony. Congratulations on bringing us something different from the mainstream stuff. The variety has been great, fav would have to be Scotty and Harry. Looking forward to some spear fishing and fishing. All the best to you and your family for the festive season.
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it! Looking forward to next season too.
Has been awesome watching your channel grow in popularity Tony, well earned. You're a genuine bloke and people can see that. Good on you for sharing such an honest opinion on the podcast. Looking forward to all your episodes in 2025!
Thank you mate, really appreciate your kind words.
Adam Greentree would be an unbelievable interview. Unreal knowledgeable hunter
Agreed, would love to sit down with him for a chat.
Always a great watch Tony keep it up.
Love the outside and where you doing it.
Would love to hear from Matt from explore life.
And also really liked THE MAD RIG what a great sorry.
Keep to podcasts short 1 hour is great and really easy listen
Keep it up. Merry Christmas 🎅
Cheers mate, Merry Christmas to you too!
