  • Learn what to expect when using pour in place rubber surfacing materials with Nick and Mike from EcoShred, a green initiative of Prime Inc. which turns truck tires into reusable materials including mulch and rubber products. Whether your project is big or small, our EcoShred can help you with your projects.
    EcoShred uses advanced processing techniques to make the most out of recycled tire materials. First, whole tires are reduced to manageable shreds that can then be processed for metal extraction. Next, the remaining clean rubber is sized specifically for various applications and industrial uses. Thus giving new life to an otherwise scrap tire that would have been destined for a landfill and instead creating valuable products that can be utilized by businesses, nonprofits, schools, and municipalities.

    Is there lead in this product from the recycling of lead containing products?

      Great question! We have had testing done by a couple of companies for not only lead but also other hazardous metals and have passed these tests which are designed for ASTM-F3012-14 standards.

      This particular video was just a demonstration of the possibilities. We do not do any in-house installs or stock the binding agents, we just manufacture the crumb rubber. Here are some of the vendors that we work with that specialize in this application:

      Yep yep! Our machines go through 830 tires (100,000 lbs) on average per day helping keep more tires out of landfills.

    For a driveway how does this do with snow and ice?

    • @PRIMEINCTRUCKING
      @PRIMEINCTRUCKING  2 года назад +1

      Since the material is porous, it works very well with snow and ice freeze/thaw processes allowing water to flow freely through the material and also providing an insulation factor that can make removal of snow and ice easier. That being said, we do not do any inhouse installations for pour in place rubber we would defer you to some of our customers that specialize in this application. Check out Porous Pave Inc., K.B> Industries Inc., and United Sustainable Surfacing of America for more information.

      @@PRIMEINCTRUCKING Biggest question for me is will this withstand the force of scraping by snow shovels and throwers? Im familiar with this material as theyre widely used in playgrounds, but I have to wonder how durable it is with the continous scraping during winter

      I wonder how it holds up to Florida sun and hot weather.
