No joke. Absolutely one of the best reviews out there PERIOD. I subbed. This is EXACTLY the type of reviews we need. Reviews along with comparisons are the best. I was not too sure exactly what the differences were besides what I could see online. This is simplified and can save someone a lot of money. Especially for new collectors it can be hard where there so many different variations of the same type of figures whether they be from the same company or a different company. We need more review/comparison videos!!!

It is the exact reason why I started channel as well, since at the time no one online could tell me whats the difference between the Metal Build's Astray Red Frame Kai, so I ended up getting it and made a video of it so for others to learn of it as well.

I just got into collecting these detailed figures and I'm sad to see that your channel has not been doing anymore reviews. I just wanted to say that I loved this review video and I love your categorization at the end. As an Eva fan, the whole time i was thinking, "yeah, the Spear is cool but I love the matte paint job of the older one." Lol thank you for making this video even though I am commenting very late.

A friend bought the 2020 version and sold me the spear. So now I have the 2019 version with the spear.
I love evangelion and went with the 2020 for both 01 and 02. Can't wait for them to release 00 premium color edition now that 00 original edition has been announced even if it takes a while.
I’m torn. I like the green on the foot shield of the new, but like everything else on the original haha

In My opinion, even if i'm a fan of Evangelion i would chose the new versión, the colors for me are amazing, the colors of the stand i feel it a little bit more realistic, and the contrast between the tho metálic purples and the metal parts and the darker green make me feel like i have a real versión of Eva 01, because that is the objective of this line
Even tho I LOVE evangelion, I'd go for the eva2020 one because it's mostly anime accurate. The one thing I do not like about it is the stand, only if bandai didnt change the color for the stand I would get it.
Yeah, I don't understand why they change the stand color as well, maybe they want to be the same as the movie version of the holder.
I personally like the matt , the mettalic is cool too

Both colors are great on their own, so really up to your own preference on this.
Very nice comparison. Although I have watched this before, I came back to rewatch it after the recent announcement of the Metal Build Eva Unit 02 2020 ver. What are your thoughts about it. It does not seem like it has any other exclusive accessories. Just a full on repaint.
I must say I'm just as disappointed as you are with the Eva Unit02 2020.
I was hoping they will at least give us some exclusive items no matter how small it might be, like changing the Unit02's head piece with horns just the movie or something, but instead its just a repaint.
In my opinion, its most like not worth buying it, given there is no additional parts but the price went up.
However, I still ordered it because I will do a comparion video on it as well.
@@KaizerChannel I see. I preordered it as well since I already preordered the 2020 ver of Eva Unit 01. I would have liked to get the first release of Eva 02 but I figured they would go together since the base and accessories are the same color. Plus, it's actually cheaper to preorder the 2020 ver rather than look for a brand new regular one.

Isn’t Eva unit 2 also getting a 2020 edition? I’m eva fan but I got the unit 2020 edition because I missed the pre order for the original. I pre ordered the eva 2020 unit 2 on p Bandai as well.
That is correct, the Eva Unit 2 [EVA2020] was announced after my video was created.
Now the big question really comes is which version will push out for the Unit 0 if they make it?
For some reason my Eva 2020’s knee point of articulation is very loose, only the left one though. Do you have any tips to fix it? It almost impossible to pose with the loose knee joint :
I actually don't have any issue with both my Eva. If you want you can use either transparent nail polish or liquid permanent matt varnish and use a small tools to seep it into the joint and let a dry.
You want to do this little by little because over doing it will result in a very tight joint.
is it me or the Metal Build Eva 01 head front view looks kinda goofy ??
That right it does looks kind off and not.what we used to. The top section where the antenna is small so gives off a very weird look to it

I say you should wait a bit first, because they are restarting the Metal Build Eva series, they teased a shadow that looks like a Unit01 but could also be 13, so I would suggest wait a bit and see as there might be a third option.

Do you think 2019 mb 01 and 02 brand new are worth 325 dlls each? I also love dynacion but its 300 dlls instead of 200 here in Mexico ;(
I am assuming thats US dollars, and that woukd be quite expensice. If that price was for the EVA2020 version then it might be more understandable. For the normal version should be around 200-250 USD.
For dynaction thats too expensive as well, under 200 USD is what you should look for.
@@KaizerChannel It's usd and yeah, too many scalpers in LATAM, sadly. Have seen mb going for 500 to 900 for the 2020 version lol. So looking at these at 325-350 from 2019 made me think a while (specially cause I prefer the looking overall, matt finish, black weapons, green base). But most likely I'll wait for another version and try to pre-order. Hopefully a 30th anniv. Thanks for your opinion btw!
the new one is better. that green ankle armor really makes it. i think the purple on both are decent it is a tie to me. personally i don't care about that spear and like the sword a little better but i think the color of the weapons in the old set was better
Yeah, both has its good and bad but seems likes a lot of people agrees with the old weapon coloring being better.

Well, seems like we don't have worry about that, they have restarted the Eva Metal Build, and there is teased picture of Unit 00 that we will be seeing, hopefully we get to see it soon.

Currently other than EVA2020 version, there is no other official way. Unless someone is willing to sell it separately or get a third party one. My suggestion is to get a third party one as it is not worth getting the EVA2020 version just for it.

@@karlodiaz802 Unfortunately I do not, I know some people will go get a assemble plastic model kit of the Eva and just take the spear and paint it.
