      8 days 3100 miles... if I make it that far

    • @gorrdd
      @gorrdd Год назад

      @@JohnnyPowRides John,
      Why do you say, "if I can make it that far?" Your Vespa 300 seems in great shape. You've got a spare CVT replacement belt and tubeless flat repair.
      The only thing I would suggest is not running it at full throttle all day... unless the course requires it because of extreme distance requirements.
      Yeah, if your forced to keep it hammered all day, that could result in premature internal engine failure.
      I know, some of the guys will pay the bucks and have a whole rebuilt spare engine and/or parts on their trailer. All sorts of spare stuff to keep them going. Those are really serious contenders.
      I've watched some of the original Cannonball motorcycle videos from some years ago... the ones that use the old, first motor bikes ever made.
      And that was a horrendous battle because these things would breakdown virtually every day.
      A number of these guys were also professional machinests and they had their own machine shop in their trailer and would remanufacture parts at night and repair their bikes necessary to start again the next day.
      They would all help each other out. There was great camaraderie. Fabulous to watch.
      After a while they would just re-machine the same worn out parts night after night so that they could finish.
      They road all day and worked all night, catching a couple hours of sleep early in the morning. Just nuts...
      Gord

    Johnny Pow!!! Great meeting you in Scooter Cannonball 2023 -- are you sure you don't want to eat my vespa floorboard well done burger? That burger fell on the floorboard of my vespa in the morning in Los Alamos, New Mexico (I thought if flew away on the road) I discovered it traveled with me on my Vespa GT200 floorboard all the way to Guymon, Oklahoma!! Ps your rotopax on your front rack looks pretty well done too lol but those gas cans are tough! Here's the burger video - have a bite 😜ruclips.net/user/shorts2L7kc7Fb_QQ?feature=share

      Sorry about the congestion - this was the only time I had left to shoot this video because I didn’t mention it but I had the bike loaded up in the driveway waiting for the Motoshippers truck (at the end of the video) which was on the way right then. I have narrow nasal passage and makes it easy for me to get congested and hard to breathe through my nose always. It sucks.
