Islam as a whole has seen a Reformation since 1979 that encourages it to believe that now is the time to fulfil its destiny of eliminating all "infidels" in the world. Either the infidels (that's us) convert and submit to Sharia Law ("Islam" means "submission") or die as slaves. The book 'Sword and Scimitar' by Raymond Ibrahim, an Egyptian-born Muslim who converted to Christianity, exposes the 1,400 years-long battle. It's a great but terrifying read, because numerous times since 635 A.D., Islam almost conquered the known world.
