There's something very special about Jakob Nowell. Sublime had died with Bradley back in 1996. I was so bummed that I never had the privilege to see Sublime LIVE before the death of Bradley Nowell. Though Rome is an amazing artist and singer, I just wasn't feeling the soul that was needed to bring back Bradley's vibe to Sublime. I was very curious when I heard Jakob was going to play some shows with the band. I didn't really know what to expect, mostly because LAW was a completely different sound and genre than Sublime. That was until I heard Jakob sing those familiar songs that we grew up singing. No bullshit, I actually teared up listening to the spirit of Bradley through his son, Jakob. It was absolutely amazing to hear his voice again. Bradley's voice cannot be duplicated to the tee. Well, Jakob has done it! I get goosebumps listening to him perform. That boy has undoubtedly inherited his father's soul and voice. I couldn't have asked for a more better band to become revived. I look forward to everything Sublime has to come. Jakob, you're an amazing artist. I believe your daddy would be so proud of you.
It's surreal, appropriate, respectful, justified, amazing, honorable, its fun, its love, and it doesn't hurt that he sounds so much like his dad that yes I am tearing up as well. Discovering Sublime in the mid-90s and knowing all of these songs just makes me so thankful that we have the spirit of Bradley in Jakob - but I also want to say that Jakob is his own unique and outstanding musician. This is special, this is so cool, but I want to also acknowledge Jakob as a very talented musician that I pray we have the honor of enjoying music from for decades to come.
I am SO glad Brads son is a great singer like he was. This video made me tear up because I wasn’t expecting it to be so amazing. Jakob, you have my approval even though you don’t need it. Continue the legacy and continue writing great music but beware the dark roads us musicians face when great music requires it.
I flew down from Seattle for this show! Was front row right in front of Eric! Even caught his cigarette 😂 it was so awesome and surreal for this Sublime fan since 92’ !!!
so , here is my story , i discovered Sublime by accident back in 2016 when i just started listening to reggae music, there is a band called Shaggy Dog here in Indonesia covering Santeria, and it was like love at the first sight. I knew it was a cover song, so i start to googled it, and Sublime came out. Then i go to youtube to find the live version of Santeria, at first, I was baffled, why there's no ANY live version of this song , the one that popped out is just Sublime with Rome, and i was like "where is the original singer of this band?" once i knew the story about this band, i was like "oh damn, what a tragic history" . Since then, i'm so proud to call myself a Sublime fan! The greatest band the world ever see! And good to see Jakob finally take his dad's place! Hell yeah! And greetings from Indonesia, thankyou for sharing this video!
Bradley should be feeling a huge pride watching his band more alive than ever by the hand of his old friends and son Jakob and if... The blood continues to boil through his songs. Great Sublime! 🤩🐶🎸🤘
Yo, Dawg, I appreciate that you uploaded this for all of us to check out. I remember back in the day when I “introduced” Sublime to a great man that I was able to call a brother and friend, as well as other things. Lol. NOT to take the air out of the room, but we lost him in 2011. No matter where I’m at, who I’m with or even whatever I’m doing, every time I see/hear these guys, I instantly become flooded with kick ass memories. Good shit and once again, I appreciate it and you for doing this!!!! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
I love playing sublime songs with my brother . I wanna jus play this entire show next time we jam . This show is great !! Prolly like 10th time I listened I thibk I’m ready to perform lol
I grew old listening to this band since first Ivheard what I got and santeria on a radio and buy sublime self titled and p 1:26:46 play on a cassette tape since then til now I'm listening to sublime..now there back with jacob this is great his voice is same as his father bradley...love it..
We were all blessed Jake, the night God, and your Mom & Dad created you Buddy! You sound so f#$ken awesome! OMG Would you please stick around with now your new band Sublime,!!! for many years to come!!Please please! Congrats!! AND Thanks Brah! & you too JOEGAMES... Tim from So. Cal.
Great Show....I really hope they write some new material vs a Greatest Hits mentality. They would do fine with that, but new material brings them back into relevancy (assuming it's good material.)
I was a teen going to Sublime house parties & I think he has a decent voice but there is something in spirit & experience when you sing-that he does not have.

There some parts where he doesn’t sound exactly but some parts he does sound the same to the point where it causes me to tear up no lie. It’s his souls of his daddy and you can’t fake that. I saw other performances before and he’s only getting better at certain parts to sing them just like his dad. It’s really crazy how genes work because it won’t be exactly but the similarities are amazing 😢
Idt any other musicians progeny ever grew up to be more of a clone of said musician than this man…he fn nails it and it’s nice to see, Rome did good for a while but this is kinda like getting Bradley back or as close as we can get on this plane of existence
Glad I got see Jakob's band play twice before the rebirth of Sublime. House of Blues in San Diego in 2020-2021 opening for Tropedelic and Badfish and at The Holding Company in Ocean Beach headlining with maybe 30 people (most were his friends). So very stoked for NEW SUBLIME MUSIC. Keep it going guys !
Too bad Jacob didn't practice ska guitar enough to have it be a 3 piece, but he was cool hanging out after his show w/ Long Beach Dub Allstars at THC in Ocean Beach.
I love how Jakob says “yall wanna push each other around a bit? We can facilitate that.” He knows his dad would want a crazy mosh. They should’ve played “we’re only gonna die” But Burritos suffices.

Love this 💜 & agree with everything you wrote!! Very special!!

I'm so happy for this dude. His rendition of his dad's works bring me to tears. Love that the band supports him in this. ❤

I love that his mom is on the stage watching every move. I can’t imagine how proud she must feel.
That’s so cool
Honestly it would make things awkward... she wouldn't let them tour a sublime which where the sublime with Rome thing came from.
@@kiezersosay49seems weird to tour as sublime without Brad or Jakob to be fair.
Playing his dad’s guitar. How awesome

Man, he held it down! I've got the whole show on repeat.
I realize all of us who grew up with Sublime in the 90s are much older now, but this crowd is weak. Sheesh. Thanks for the footage, Joe. 🏆👏
Ex isnt as readily available and powerful as it once was lol. Everyone is on downers now.
Was thinking the same! My old ass would be skankin & moshing thru most of those songs!

Jake’s a real dude. He came into the crowd after their show in Truckee and the first person he hugged(bear hugged) was my son. So badass!
“ThE pRoDiGy” relax dude Jesus Christ
He actually sucks
Have to honestly say this is the first time I've ever heard Romeo performed live!
Love It!!
Who's Romeo 😆 I don't mean to laugh, but if your referring to Rome Ramirez this is not him. This is Jacob, son of original singer Bradley Nowell.
@@deankissell3196 The song Romeo that starts at 57:05 you must be too young to try and correct someone and fail.
@YeethusCries yeah, I made a mistake. Your weird assumption about my age makes no sense, and no one was talking to you, so, get a life!
Maximum Respect to Sublime and Jacob, it's a new begining
I was there! Best show I’ve seen in so long they played so many off the classics.
I really hope everyone in that crowd truly realized that they were apart of something so special and absolutely beautiful!
So cool for Bradley's son to carry the torch...Long live Sublime!!!
