I don't know I wish they'd just bring back the original eye jacket just using their new material and call them throwbacks or something like that the new ones have a completely different shape they're nice but it's not the same
@oreview Hi man! Thank you for the review. I am wondering what is the size of these sunglasses that you have shown in the video (especially Red Iridium Lenses, Planet X Frame) I would like to order them from the official Oakley website but they only sell in S - size, and I am afraid that might not fit me =(
I picked up the redux with silver frame. My signature color way. The frame Keats in too much light from all sides of the orbitals. Will trade to sell /trade these for something else?
really curious, with your knowledge with oakleys im wondering what you would consider to be the best pair at blocking out light leaking in from the sides and bottom, these ones seemed really ideal for that but in your expert opinion what would be better? I have the clifdens but i find light still gets in from the sides behind/below the side shields
Hello, congratulations your video was very good. I have photophobia and I look for glasses that I can use in environments with lots of light, like shopping malls, but that the lens does not increase the brightness of the environment, that makes it a little darker and with more contrast, which one do you advise? I thought about gold 24k, prizm low light or, who knows, prizm gray, what do you think is best for me? Thank you
hey how are the matte clear frames holding up? any yellowing or oxidization on them? also have you thought about swapping the lenses out of those ones?
I recently broke the arm of my fingerprint eyejacket.. Is it ideal to have it repaired? Looking into the new Planet X ones too, might grab myself a pair!
Hi Dann, I bought my first pair of Eye Jackets in 1997 and then again in 1999. I have misplaced them since then and am seriously considering buying the Redux, but hesitant because of the $200 price tag. Would I be better off just buying a vintage pair of originals on eBay?
The $200 price tag is just on the two polarized models. The others are 140-150. The pricing on recent release isn't going to be too different. However if you do hunt down a vintage, make sure it has the metal icon, so you know it's the newer O Matter and won't be as fragile.
I'd go with originals. These new ones are on par with gas station sunglasses. Are those Pugs you're wearing? No, they're Oakley's, but I get that a lot.
I don't keep up with Oakley news, because I was so disgusted with all their ugly square/rectangle lens designs. For yeeears I would check all the time like "Did they bring back the Eye Jacket? Straight Jacket? No..oh :(" and I checked the other night and saw these and was shocked. I'm just really bummed they had to "update" these though. The originals were sooo smooth and round, there were no harsh or sharp angles etc.
I picked a pair the silver & black. My favorite color combo. I love the lenses. The provides lot of sun coverage. The frame unfortunately let’s you n too much light on the sides & top yo block all sun angles. I still enjoy wearing. Very comfortable
This is a certified hood classic
real trap shit
finally I had these and it makes me feels like in 90's again, appreciated for your review guided me to buy one of these
Glad you like them!

I hear you. The combo of the fluid orbitals but angular stems and nose is a but jarring
You have great taste sir ! I’ve always wanted a pair of these.
Everyone was wearing those in the 90s. Iconic.
I remember some people in high school had them, and the 'expensive' rack at the mall just seemed out of reach. Times changed
@@oreview I grew up in Germany during the rise of techno, and those glasses were part of the basic raver outfit. Funnily, they are again now.

I had the eye jackets around ‘96 or ‘97 in the green crackle color. They need that color back
Fuel, I believe it was called. And Moss was the glitter green one. Great frames back then
Would love to see the Juliet and Romeo review still!
Just ordered a pair from the Black Friday sale. Silver frames 🔥
Congrats. There were some good deals

Prizm 24k will definitely be the darkest with a touch of contrast.
@@oreview thanks!

Any chance you want to part ways with those matte clear frames?
Do they have the same lens size, for both the old and new ?
I don't believe the lenses are the same. The three original versions were all unique as well
I recently broke the arm of my fingerprint eyejacket.. Is it ideal to have it repaired? Looking into the new Planet X ones too, might grab myself a pair!
Oakley likely won't repair it. Best case they might issue a partial credit.

Buy OG ones as thr Redux looks stupid. I own two original 1990s pairs of eye jackets. I also have a pair of Tortoise Gascans.

size this sunglasses?
Thank you ❤
redux or holbrook?
Does this model put the lens on the eyelashes?do Oakley lenses still peel?
They do sit close, so it you have longer lashes, they can touch. I haven't seen delamination as often lately, but it still happens on occasion.
Oakley might as well come back with the four s.
@@daniel061288 One could hope
Just snagged the yellow/bronze lens ones a couple days ago
Nice choice!
@@oreview thanks! I just subscribed, excellent reviews and epic collection!
@@roblincoln10 cheers
@@oreview I will say, after receiving them, the original shape is more desirable, for myself, although, this is my first 24k lens' and I love that.
@@roblincoln10 Yeah, I like the fluid contours of the original. The flattened nose bridge sort of makes it fit weird on me.
Good vid! Prizm 24k? A review of the lense?
The Iridium is pretty much the same, but the base is Prizm Bronze vs the deep orange/amber on in the original.
Great video review as always!
Are they good for running??
The unobtainium helps with the grip, but I can't be sure about any potential fogging issues.
I just came back from a run and I didn't really have any issues with fogging. They do have a tendency to bounce as you step.
I don't keep up with Oakley news, because I was so disgusted with all their ugly square/rectangle lens designs. For yeeears I would check all the time like "Did they bring back the Eye Jacket? They did bring back the original, but only in a very limited capacity, which made them very inaccessible

Prizm 24 k? I haven’t tried the lenses yet. What did you think? I like bathe prizm black ,& lowblights.
Prizm ruby is a nice lenses l. picked up one for my radarlocks!
Nice work on the video 👍
Thank you. Going to try and finish one for the Coldfuse soon.
is this fog proof?
Not really. Most will have fogging issues unless they're vented.
