Is there a way to find out that i am being represented by my Tax Agent by IRS?

I spoke to one that charged 300 to investigate with the irs the status but could not tell me how much more it would cost after that. So if I didn't want to proceed, I suppose I lose the 300.

Both are low ball prices. What you fail to understand is that A full assessment of your case so you are protected from IRS enforcement action requires time and expertise

I had the same problem. Republic Tax Relief Company told me it would be $590 to resolve my issue, they sent the contract to me but before I sign the contract I notice in the fee section the $590 covers the investigation, and it stated more fees would need to be paid after the investigation once they look at my case but they never mention that to me when I spoke with them on the phone they only mention the $590 so that was a red flag for me. I then researched some reviews and what they would do after the investigation is tell you to continue they would have to charge anywhere from $2000 to $5000 to continue working on the case and if you couldn’t afford that you would lose the $590.

I think you can find good or bad opinions online on just about any business or professional services firm. I can’t speak to whether the company you mention is good or bad, nor would I

Is a $4800 flat fee good for getting 25000 taken care of?

Not enough information to answer your question, unfortunately. Might be good - might be 'too good' (too high). It all depends on your specific situation, and we would need to know more details in order to provide a reasonable and fair fee. Email me at jim@anchortaxrelief.com if you are wanting to learn more

Im dealing with this now...literally just got off the phone. Exact same amount owed $25k. The company im working with said their fee is $2.4k. They offer installments. Found this video doing my due diligence. Don't want to get ripped off or screwed over worse than i already am.
