So it's basically dangerous to work? Because some people are not good with money and they spend it like water and some people have drug problems Etc. This whole system is really despicable. People should keep their own money and the IRS should get real jobs like the people they steal the money from

Now they're homeless and they have nothing to show for what they had. and more and more people are becoming homeless. So don't look down on the homeless. give a hand. a blessing and some cash. what goes around comes around in mysterious ways. I have little-but I do give.

Now I'm not paying anything so far...but making very little income not by choice but atleast I don't have to stress out about paying the government every 3 months. 😮

I was advised about the 6 year statute. But in order for an ideal IRS Offer and Compromise to actually be approved by the IRS internal process, I was then advised that actually, ALL back years must have been filed even though the IRS will not collect taxes for those years due to the 6 year statute.
Plus. Certain states still want ALL past years returns filed and their state taxes paid and could come after it as well, at any point in time, like when an estate probate triggers it.
    How fun
So how many tax professionals are happy to take money to tell you that they have your back and "try" for an Offer & Compromise knowing full well it will be declined and the secondary option of an Installment agreement will be offered instead, because they don't actually want the extra hassle of filing more than 6 years? Or helping you with the work and guidance of reconstructing more than 6 years of past financial statements and filing? 🤔

With that being texted, my husband and I got married in 2019 before we had to file our taxes but when we did file in 2019 we filed separately. We filed online and then it pop up that it would be best that we filed jointly so we did and from that point on we've haven't received any refunds and it's now time to file for my 2022 so at this point I haven't any clue on what to do next. I hope that you could help or at lest point us in the right direction where we can get so help in the state of Ohio, Cincinnati to be more accurate. Thank you.

Great video. What I'm finding is, if you didn't file 2015 on time or before the 15 Apr 2016 deadline, even if you were due a refund, then file in 2021, the IRS will forward the return to examiners. They will, strip the return to bare bones, strip all dependent refunds or credits, and redo your tax for you. You'll owe 1000s of dollars more. You'll end up owing money at end of 15 Apr 2016. Then, the IRS will recompute all these late filing charge penalties. They will send you this whopping bill via registered mail that will shock you out of your seat. You can appeal it; but, appeals can't change or provide remission or relief from the law, even if you are poor, or on a limited/fixed income. You broke the law by not filing a return by the deadline. Where maybe you were owed $1800.00 tax refund, you now, after IRS examiners redid your return for you, you owe penalties of $15,000.00 in unpaid back taxes, and penalties for not filing on time and the IRS having to do your return for you..
this is what has happened to me. It is painful. And the $15,000.00 is only for one year. If you have other years, now you owe 10s of 1000s of dollars even if all years you were owed a refund. File your taxes on time. I thought I had a valid reason for suspending filing, then immediately wrote the IRS for help assist because no one at IRS was answering the phone--then thinking I did the right thing--wait for a reply-wait beyond the filing deadline. Foolishly up thru recently waiting for a reply. Don't get clouded or confused. File your taxes--ON TIME. It's the law. Even if you were owed a return. Not filing on time, the IRS is playing hard ball--it's against the law, even if you were owed a refund.

Are you sure on the 6 year thing? As far as I understand it until a return is filed it can be collected on forever. If you never file then technically you could get something in the mail 10 or 20 years later. Not to mention not filing is a crime so you could get get into legal trouble if the IRS decided to go after you for tax evasion due to unfiled returns.

I don't know about tax law, but let's say the 6 year statute of limitations is true, once the 6th year passes, they can not go after you. If that's how it works of course.
This is not legal advice. I also do not know why this was in my recommended videos.

My tax guy never filed my taxes. He said he filed for extension in 2021 do to his own needs then weeks later said it was done and I paid him $20,000. Yes a lot but I made a lot.
This year I did my taxes myself as I had nothing complex and when I was retrieving my AGI for 2021 to verify my identity and the IRS site says I never filed taxes in 2021!😮.
    Now what?

I never made over $12k in a year and was barely getting by. Now that I’m 25 I have started a lawn care business and I’m going to file taxes this year for the first time in years due to my situation.
