I remember when the V13 guys did a crowdfunding campaign and just ran away with all the money. A classic scam.
I remember donating $40 to it. I got access to a forum and they shared some concept art and a table top rpg test demo of it. They also switched it from an MMO to a single player game at that point.
I'd completely forgotten about all this, such a shame it never worked out though as I think what they were aiming for is what people actually wanted from 76. Playable races being one of the biggest things! Why Bethesda still haven't offered that seems crazy to me.
There was a cut mutations system in the files of 76, originally there was plans for us to either ghoulify or turn super mutant, depending on our lifestyle. There was a cool vid about it but I forget who uploaded it
@@officialtripleb2013 I guess with it being so rushed that got scrapped before release. =/ I kinda remember one of the trailers hinting at something like becoming a ghoul but just turned out to be the mutations...
I would love to see a community project reviving this idea. A huge undertaking for sure but would be lovely to see a different take on the Fallout online idea!
It exist
Not gonna happen. Bethesda will unleash their army of lawyers at the very same day, as they did with PV13.
@@fENzxr I player it 10 minutes ago
That could have been an equal to ESO honestly it would have made enough money to have a graphic overhaul later on and everything and it could have been one of the biggest MMOs
I know this is a bit of an old comment, but I think it likely would've been closer to SWTOR than ESO. The years align a little bit closer, and while I don't know about what uses what engine without looking into it, I've played both and just looking at what snippet was shown in this video, again, while it's not a universe of difference, I think SWTOR better fits the comparison.. And trying to juggle shooting and VATS in an MMO that also offers melee is gonna be esp hard to pull off. Not that it can't be done, but Fallen Earth comes to mind, and thusfar two out of the three MMOs I've mentioned here were viewed as pretty painful failures, your mention of ESO being the one redeemable MMO, albeit still a kind of acquired taste. I guess that could be said about almost any game though. I seemed like the only one out of about 5 of my friends that actually didn't mind ESO, but I think that largely had to do with going into it NOT expecting it to be exactly like the offline elder scrolls games, aswhere they did. Anyway, hello from the future, random internet stranger.
@@shawnsmith3959 Yeah in terms of gameplay/graphics with the graphic overhaul I mentioned it probably would be closer compared to SWTOR maybe even Lord of the Rings online maybe but I wasn't really comparing that I was more comparing to how popular it could have been lol. Maybe not though considering how old it was but who knows WoW came out all those years ago and still holds the number 1 most played MMO spot.
Damn this seemed really cool, I'm imagining it would have coupled well with ESO if it was a thing.
Yay. Legalism once again kills creativity. Go lawyers go investors go demands and laws destroy everything we love in the name of greed and a pretense at protecting our rights. :(
To be fair, that's kinda Modus Operandi between larger and smaller/failing companies.
Bethesda, like EA, tends to intentionally sabotage game deals with smaller game companies - most notably shown with the Prey and Fallout franchises.
It's like when big companies avoid paying smaller contractors as long as possible in hopes the small guy goes bankrupt.
currently i'm working on a Fallout Multiplayer fan game that's heavily inspired by this chacneled fallout game. right now its 2D but would love to learn a 3D engine to try an completely re create it
Very interesting video! Never heard of it before
Great video!
Fk yea, I would gladly play this mmo, really sad the project is discarded. The more fallout games the better, I'm addicted🙂
Never heard about this project before. Very interesting!!
I remember the trailer and I was so hyped.
the fallout 76 we deserved
I hope gameplay leaks eventually
While I think they were cut from the game early on, Caleb Cleveland's Fallout concept art came from when he was part of the team working on V13. And they've all been made into mods.
Bethesda made more than 6mil profit just from FO3. Not even the DLCs.
Yes,but Bethesda bought IP for 6 million dollars
I guess the end result of a Fallout mmorpg is unfortunately the polarizing Fallout 76. Better than nothing I suppose. #KejiInafunae
Look at the Bethesda disappointing their fans base nothing changed
Yooooi
I'm not gay
