Elevating the seriousness of crimes comitted against these particualar groups is a slap in the face to all women and children, are they not targeted because of who they are..arguably weaker and easier to target..its a troubling road to go down..all violent crime and victimisation no matter who the victim should be heavily punished. We have a judicial system riddled with judges who give leniant sentences if not suspended altogether to perpatrators of horrific crimes against women and children..should we not address this eons old pattern if we are so concerned about people being victimised for WHO they are????
They are not exactly concerned with protecting the ethnic Irish or they would have used this term in, say, highly publicised murder cases we're all heard of. The 'hate' part is only here to provide a very subjective, emotion-based, lever for unfairly sentencing the locals. At least this is how I understand this the more I hear the details.
