    This is my favorite bedtime story. I have terrible insomnia that keeps me up for days with only a handful of hours of sleep. Thanks to you I’ve slept well for the past 4 days. Thank you for helping so many people with your stories

    I usually fall asleep ok, but I wake up in the middle of the night wide awake with my brain not wanting to quiet down. I put on one of your stories, and your voice lulls me back to sleep every time! I love that you make them long so if I do wake up, I hear your voice again and I get right back to sleep. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

    I have Autism. Listening to your stories help me to relax and not think about everything. Or hear or feel everything. I haven't needed medication since I started using a weighted blanket and listening to bedtime stories. Just wanted you to know I'm here. I remember you saying you have Autism, too. G'night from Texas.

I love this one because of the longer pauses between words and the sleepy sound of your voice. I really needed good sleep this week. Thank you!!!

    The funny thing is: I can't sleep when I hear somebody talking. Other noises aren't a problem, I've slept through a pretend raid on summer camp once. I've been battling anxiety and depression for a couple of years now, and I'm usually so keyed up at night I can't even lie down for longer than 30 minutes. Your stories kinda help me through that. They're so soothing they help me reach a point where I can relax enough to fall asleep. (I sadly have to turn them off then because the thing I mentioned earlier, so I never know how your stories end, but since I've discovered this channel I've been able to get more sleep). Thank you for that fam ❤️

      There are almost 200 healing sleep meditation sleep stories for grownups. I create new ones during livestreams every Monday night (10pm UK time), I post a new sleep meditation sleep story for grownups (an edited and cleaned up version of one created during the livestream two weeks earlier) every Wednesday at 4am (so the next one will be on my channel in under 5 hours from when I'm writing this).
      I create stories about very different things and so have made many playlists to try to give an idea with an easy glance of the types of things in the different stories. This series (Dragon's Fire) is popular but includes more violence (with slaying dragons etc), whereas normally this is rare, my stories take strange twists and turns but don't often have violence in them. This series is also rare in that it is a series (and there is a story released about a year earlier that preceded this series).
      My stories are told to try to help with stress, anxiety and worry as well as helping the listener to fall asleep and I have a video on my channel demonstrating how I use metaphors therapeutically where I am doing so with a client (who I had never met before) in front of an audience during a course I was teaching. I also talk a bit about what I am doing in that video.
      Hope you find something on the channel you like...

    I put on "blue gold" read by Stephen Fry, I woke up there and was really surprised at the time because I slept for 6 hours without waking up which is unbelievable for me, looked at my phone and this had played for almost 3 hours while I slept and I wasn't aware at all. I am genuinely surprised I didn't expect these to help but I will definitely be putting this on again tonight. Hopefully I'll hear some of it at least 🙂 thank you.

      I recently wrote an outline of all six episodes of the Dragon's Fire series here: facebook.com/notes/daniel-jones/dragons-fire-guided-sleep-meditations-series/10157834362414036/
      The full series is now on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music and other download and streaming services.
      The wizard was injured but doesn't die. The wizard features in the prequel to this series that I made the year before where they take on the ice dragon. The plan is that this year I will record more meditations set in the Dragon's Fire world.

    But serioysly, love your work. Your bedtime stories have accompanied me to sleep on so many near-sleepless nights. """" 54321 wake up""" I was in quite a state breathing hard but had the most fantastic dream . I remember a little but now nothing but it was so real ... Was I hypnotized??? That's never happened before ...omg bizarre but fantastically
    amazing but is that normal? My dream was so intense .

    • @DanJonesHypnosis
      @DanJonesHypnosis  6 лет назад

      There is no '5,4,3,2,1 wake up' in the story. It is all six parts of my Dragon's Fire bedtime stories back to back, so no cues to wake up as I want the listeners to sleep. Even in non-sleep tracks I never count someone out of hypnosis because I want people to know they are in control of their experience and that they decide themselves non-consciously to awaken when they have completed their inner work rather than being told to exit hypnosis when they may not have yet completed their inner work...

    • @DanJonesHypnosis
      @DanJonesHypnosis  6 лет назад

      It was probably someone else's video which counted out. As mentioned none of mine do that. It sounds like you had a deep experience. Obviously, I would say you were hypnotised, but then it doesn't take much. Just to read this you are lightly hypnotised, if you listen to me talking in a video you are lightly hypnotised, if you close your eyes you are a little deeper hypnotised, the more absorbed you become the more hypnotised you become - just like when watching a film or reading a book or listening to a talk or being in an engaging conversation. All of these can deeply hypnotise you.

    Hi, Dan! I have very much enjoyed your story, but I wanted to point out there is a rather substantial gap in part two from roughly 55 minutes 51 seconds to one hour two minutes and… And… I forgot how many seconds. LOL! Just give that section a listen.

    • @DanJonesHypnosis
      @DanJonesHypnosis  6 лет назад +1

      This was about the sixth attempt at uploading this. All other attempts youtube were cutting off the last hour or so of my video, sometimes it would be listed as much shorter, other times it was listed at full length but had silence for the last part (there are no problems with any of the raw files). Eventually this uploaded at the right length. I did wonder whether there would be issues within the video and just felt if there were I wouldn't be trying to upload it again, if people found it a problem I would just delete the video. I've had this issue with youtube a few times but only when uploading videos in HD and longer tab about two hours. As long as it isn't at an important part of the story so people can all follow the story and people don't mind the slight gap then I won't delete the video.

    • @crazyrobotlady3391
      @crazyrobotlady3391 6 лет назад +1

      Dan Jones Hypnosis no. It doesn’t depreciate from the story. I could still follow it. I also like the description of your elf’s armor emerging from his skin like that. Just curious. Do you write these stories before hand, or do you just speak them as they come to you?

    • @DanJonesHypnosis
      @DanJonesHypnosis  6 лет назад +1

      I just speak them. With this series I wrote down names for the characters, wrote down a list of dragons, decided on six areas to be covered then just spoke back to back through the stories.

    No sound from 55:50 to 1:03:26, and again from 1:33:16 to 1:40:57. Love this other than that, hope to hear what's missing in those 16 minutes!

    • @DanJonesHypnosis
      @DanJonesHypnosis  5 лет назад +2

      Don't know why that glitch has happened, hopefully it is temporary. Obviously if you want to know what happens through the whole story (and in those sections) you can listen to the separate videos. The colour of the dragons at these times lets you know which section of the stories are missing here. 55mins looks like Red Dragon, 1h03m is into the beginning of the Green Dragon story, 1h33m to 1h40m seems to be in the Blue Dragon story. So if you listen to these stories you will know what happens in those missing sections...

    • @ssw4m
      @ssw4m 4 года назад

      I thought that was deliberate! You say it was a glitch, but I think it could be a good idea for future stories to leave some very long pauses like that, they can give us a chance to fall deeply asleep in the quiet parts.

    • @DanJonesHypnosis
      @DanJonesHypnosis  4 года назад

      Hi Sam, I used to have long pauses because from experience I know that silence deepens absorption in the experience. My meditations from before about 2010 all have longer pauses in them, including in some cases pauses up to about 15 minutes. Back then people never complained about the long pauses and would often comment similar to you that is helps you to fall deeply asleep. But then things changed and my opinion is that it is because people were listening to my sleep meditations thinking that they are just stories being read and so they don't want any kind of pause.
      Every day I get comments complaining about the pauses and for years I responded explaining that the pauses give you time to do what is being suggested (like if I suggest touching grass, then I give time for your mind to build up that experience so that you are more absorbed in the experience, etc) I explain that in all meditations I've listened to they have frequent pauses of perhaps 30 seconds to a minute to allow the listener to become deeper absorbed etc.
      I only reduced the pauses significantly in what I have posted in 2019 and 2020 to try to find that balance where people still find the meditations work for them (because I know reducing the pauses reduces the effectiveness of the meditations) but hopefully it reduces the complaints about the pauses which is the biggest complaint my meditations get (and as mentioned, it used to be the opposite, it used to be the think which got the most praise, that the pauses and relaxed pace helped, which is what my professional experience is when working with clients and when teaching).
      I edited all of my meditations from 2017 and earlier during 2019 and so the edits of these, including the Dragon's Fire series have all had the pauses reduced to about 4 seconds per long pause. I am currently editing all of my meditations from 2018 (I am putting everything on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music etc and have already added 99 meditations to these services including the full Dragon's Fire series) and plan on not changing the pauses. When initially recording these meditations the pauses were much shorter than I used to do, but it was common for pauses to be perhaps 10 seconds long and in some cases maybe a bit longer, rather than minutes long for earlier meditations. For example, my initial Adventure of a Prince meditation was recorded in about 2004 and was an hour long, it had pauses that were a minute or two at a time, then I edited it and re-uploaded it in something like 2015 because suddenly lots of people were finding my content, saying they wanted to listen to the meditations but couldn't stand the pauses, and I reduced the pauses which I think reduced the meditation to about 51 minutes, then I re-recorded the meditation in 2016 as the audio had a buzz on it from being so old and not having decent equipment back then, this re-recorded version I think was a couple of minutes shorter again and then in my editing during 2019 to create a version for Spotify etc I edited the pauses down further and the final version is 44 minutes, so in that meditation alone I have cut out 16 minutes of silence, I prefer the version with all of the silence, but I get such a large number of complaints and thumbs down etc based on having too much silence and then spending every day replying on different videos explaining to people that I'm not 'reading a story' as if reading from a book, that these are guided meditations, they are to be engaged with so that the listener has an experience while listening, not just listened to completely passively and that the silences are an important part of the process. So despite my training and my years of experience and the fact that all training you attend when learning meditation or hypnosis has silence as a key feature that is taught as a way of deepening experience etc and I demonstrate this with clients in front of groups and teach this etc, here on RUclips the backlash which suddenly started arising over the last few years has led me to reduce the silences despite knowing that it reduces the effectiveness of the meditations and in about December 2019 I settled on making no silence longer than 4 seconds, which seems the length that gets no complaints, even having a few 5 second pauses gets lots of complaints. My plan for tracks I've been making in 2020 (which has only been 1 track so far - the last released meditation, and I have recorded one for next week, but not edited it yet) is to leave my pauses as normal and put up with the complaints as I had one comment saying that they haven't liked my recent meditations because I seem to rush through them, and it isn't that I rush through them, it is that I have made sure no pause is longer than 4 seconds. I plan on making content as I want it to be made and hope that those who like it, find it, watch and subscribe, rather than make it how those who seem to be watching it over the last few years (where I think they just think these are stories being read rather than meditations) want it to be to try to please them, but then put off those who subscribed over the years because of my older work where I didn't mess with the pauses. The unedited versions are recorded entirely as usual (as people who watched the livestreams where I was recording the meditations live on air would have experienced, whereas the edited versions of the meditations recorded live that I posted on the Saturday's had the silences reduced. No-one during the livestreams ever complained about the silences being too long, but in the few where I didn't reduce the silences down, once they went live on the Saturday they would get lots of complaints about the silences and I would get comments saying things like I need to 'tell the stories like Stephen Fry does on the Calm App' and I would reply that the difference is that he is telling a story like reading from a book, I am doing a meditation and these are two very different things).

    Has anyone ever made the end of one of his stories?

    • @DanJonesHypnosis

      I make stories of differing lengths, so I imagine some hardened insomniacs have made it to the end of my 20-30 minute stories, but hopefully not too many make it to the end of my 45-60 minute stories, and even fewer to the end of stories which go on for hours...
      I had flu once and couldn't sleep (high body temperature shuts off the part of the brain to do with sleep), so I listened to my Prince Adventure story on repeat and didn't sleep, but remained in a relaxed state for the whole night and felt refreshed the next morning despite having not slept at all...

    55:50 -1:03:28 is completely silent and then it goes to a completely new part starting in the middle of the sentence. 😥 I only noticed it because each of these stories are too short on their own but together I can understand and remember the first while falling asleep but the second one knocks me out. I started on the second one tonight since I remember the first and was probably three or so minutes into the silence before I realized that my brain turned back on and there was no talking. Very sad as I was really starting to get into it and the dreams were threatening to take over. Very first time I have ever found any type of issue with dan jones' stories.

      I explain about this at the beginning of the description that at some point over the years a fault has developed on this video but that each of these meditation is still available and working fine on my channel if you want to listen to the six parts in their individual videos (there is a Dragon's Fire playlist on my channel). I've replied to a number of people about this issue and the fact that despite the error developing, this is still one of my most viewed videos each month so I haven't deleted the video from RUclips but have instead made people are of this issue in the description and people have the option of listen to the individual meditations rather than the compilation of they want to.

    Love your work but can’t always access those on your site or utube. Could you please add a few new ones to the Slumber App as although there are so many, I’ve listened to them all so many times I know them by heart. Many thanks

      I don't choose the tracks of mine that Slumber decide to use, they approach me from time to time to licence a track or two and many of my tracks they've got access to they have decided not to licence for their app. I don't decide what they choose to licence. All of my tracks are available here on RUclips and on my Dan Jones Hypnosis Sleep Stories podcast where you can subscribe for access to all of the tracks. My podcast is what I use instead of Patreon to give people a way of supporting my channel and the creation of new stories by offering access to my stories without ads or introductions.

    I listened to this accidentally as I fell asleep to a previous ASMR video, so I thought I was just dreaming it. Your voice is very good and your hypnotic style of talking is very good too but I'm afraid I didn't like the content. I like science fiction and listen to audiobooks every night in order to get to sleep but I don't absorb the stories, I just hear the voice. Whereas, your story became the source of my disturbed sleep, until I realised what I was listening to and turned it off. So I'll investigate your other videos and see if I can find something that suits me better. So it's not a criticism but an observation. :)

      No criticism taken, I have about 100 stories on my channel all very different, this is one of only a few I've made like this for those who like this type of fantasy story. I have created playlists of my stories so people can easily see what types of things my stories cover and select what types of stories they like...

      Sounds like you experienced sleep paralysis. When you enter dreaming sleep your body becomes paralysed (so that you don't act out your dreams). Sometimes when people awaken during dreaming sleep their body is still paralysed for a short period of time where you haven't left that dreaming state fully yet. It is common for people to have experiences during this time because they are now in a dreaming state and so paralysed but also conscious and so able to think and aware of what is going on (not like a lucid dream where you are aware of what is going on inside the dream but not aware of the world outside of the dream, but aware of yourself in bed etc). People report thinking they see shadowy figures which pin them down, or figures of beings (ranging from aliens to demons and ghosts) standing in their room with them unable to move, or a force pinning them down, or something sitting on their chest etc. Throughout history this used to lead to many myths about spirits and evil creatures, when in fact it is just that the dreaming brain is active while you are consciously aware of being awake etc and the sleep paralysis that occurs during dreaming is happening.
