As someone pointed out in another video doing the same mods, you can simply not remove solder from the last pin. Just heat it up and pull fast leaving the solder. when inserting the new switch, just heat up the solder already on the board and insert switch from underside and hole until its cooled. then apply solder to the other pin(s) to complete the swap. this way you don't need tape or anything else holding it in place when soldering first pin.

Does it feel heavier? I constantly missclicking RMB on my g102 just by resting my hand.
Yes, it is clearly heavier for the Kailh Gm 8.0, but slightly heavier for the Kailh silent.

reversible, it's 2 pins, either "on" or "off" if that makes sense.

What's the lifespan of the silent switches? Do you know which one is the one that fits a Logitech G600?
Well theyre switches so unless oxidations kills it then it should last 10m+ clicks

No they're not heavy, comparable to stock Omron I'd say... although I'm no expert, they feel the same apart from the sound of course.

why do you cover the switch with tape when soldering? do i need to do it?
You don't have to do it. I just tape it so that the switch is as close to the PCB as possible.
